Is he saying now, because of me, you don't need to commit suicide?

Your headline and content are out of whack; repeated content from previous post.
I don't know what happened, but "What the fuck" and "weird shit" are likely applicable to any discussion of Biden rhetoric.
I realize this is just an error, but I have to admit, I find it rather delightful.
Oh, damn. Sorry it took me so long to see the screw up.
I find that I often, when copying the code from Twitter, believe I've clicked the copy button but haven't actually copied the code. I don't know why this happens, how it could be that the Twitter code copy button is harder for me to use successfully.
Obviously, I should look at the post immediately and ensure I've got the right image.
Again sorry it took so long. And on such a heavy topic — cancer, suicide, and a possibly demented President.
I'm deleting most of the comments on the original screw up.

I can relate. For some reason, my bank's online bill pay has one more step than I think it needs to, and I sometimes forget to click that button one more time (are you super sure you want to send these payments?) so I think I've paid my bills but really I haven't.
Does Joe, and Joe's handlers, not remember he already did this in 2016?
Days after President Obama announced the “moonshot” to find a cancer cure during his State of the Union, Vice President Biden visited Penn’s Abramson Cancer Center to kick off the national effort he said aims to “accelerate the progress already underway” – much of which is happening right here.
"You're on the cusp of some breakthroughs," Biden said. "In my terms -- not your medical terms -- we are at an inflection point in the fight against cancer."
Oh, damn. Sorry it took me so long to see the screw up.
Please don't beat yourself up.
It's not like you're the NYT with layers of fact-checkers.
It was a dumb joke.
Maybe Biden thinks the patients, survivors and caregivers will jump over the rail in their eagerness to get to him, hug him and fall at his feet in love and gratitude.
Was he stuttering again?
Yes. We're supposed to pretend.
We're supposed to pretend he's the legitimate President.
This is not normal.
Sometimes in my idle moments, I wish Joe Biden would visit New York and use the subway. Just hanging around the subway platform, awaiting the oncoming R Train, some faceless person behind him...
Just an idle thought. No need to send the FBI to my home.
I thought it might be a John Wilkes Booth reference — you know jumping from the balcony/box seats onto the stage... but that would be... terrible.
so, serious question.. How many More times; will jo biden Cure cancer?
My 90 year mom, tells the same stories every family gathering.
she's done that for years, but Now she thinks she's telling us something New.
The worst part is; we ALL know her stories FAR better than her.. Which is kinda sad.
The thing Is; my mom is 90 years old, and been retired for 25 years. What's Jo's excuse?
How long, til they come out with the movie version of: The Madness of King Jo ??
It's an old, old joke for him. Most of Biden's jokes are.
Joe often signals his intention by subtle signs, like saying, "That's a joke!" or "Not a joke!" or "That's not hyperbole." Experienced Bidenologists have learned how to decipher such oblique indications.
Cancer is still around and it's deadly, but "The War on Cancer" goes back to the Nixon years. Like "The War on Drugs"? It's been more successful, but the rhetoric does have a musty, old-timey smell.
Other antediluvian tropes -- "If we can put a man on the moon, why can't we ..." or "This is the United States of America, dammit! We can do anything we put our minds to." -- aren't inspiring. They just emphasize just how much has changed in 50 years and how far we've fallen.
Joe Biden has been saying the stupidest shit for most of my lifetime.
If they all jumped at the same time and landed on Joe, I'd be OK with it...
'I thought it might be a John Wilkes Booth reference — you know jumping from the balcony/box seats onto the stage... but that would be... terrible.'
Joe is not cogent enough to make that connection.
Sic semper tyrannis...
Many votes did this old crook get?
"Is he saying now, because of me, you don't need to commit suicide?"
Does Joe have reasons for saying things, as in, he thinks of what to say, and why to say it, and considers the alternative ways of saying it, and then picks the best line? Or does he just blurt out what comes to mouth? It's a mystery.
"I thought it might be a John Wilkes Booth reference"
You know, that's funny.
Sleepy Joe has a number of things he says in his stock speeches and he's been doing it for so long (since 1973) that he doesn't even realize he's doing it. Looking up at a bunch of people on a balcony and saying "don't jump" is his idea of comedy. Same with his repeated references to "Deer wearing Kevlar vests" and the BS about black people having to go to McDonalds to get access to the internet.
So.....IMO he started his stupid lame joke yesterday but then his brain (such as it is) realized this would be an inappropriate venue for this knee-slapper so he only got halfway through it.
2024 can't come soon enough.
I remember him promising, if elected, to cure cancer. To anyone actually struggling with inoperable cancer, that was not just fatuous, but downright cruel. He should just shut up about the subject, but of course he won't. Every time he brings it up now makes my blood boil.
I follow biotech and, in particular, TCRT. TCRT has a new immunotherapy drug in trials right now. Very promising. Full results on the first two patients to be released 9-30.
TCRT has an agreement with MD Anderson on the trials and some kind of deal with NCI.
TCRT is attacking solid tumor cancers, brain, lung etc.
If it works, it really could be the cure for many cancer.
And you can bet Biden - of all people - will take full credit when TCRT becomes the cure. I doubt TCRT got any government money of note. I do know that it is planning an ATM secondary to raise more money. That's from the private sector; not the government. And that's the way it should be.
Full disclosure. TCRT is my biggest position and I'm not done buying.
Joe reminds me of the later Red Skelton's Freddie the Tramp without the humor, and humanity.
I wouldn't call that normal, no. This is someone failing at humor, and failing because people in the past have never told him how tone-deaf he is. It's always been "That's just how Biden is". Newsflash: that doesn't help.
At least he didn't call them lying dog-faced pony soldiers. Because that joke went over so well, too.
The dude is a cosmic buffoon. But he's going to see that cancer gets cured. Hubris ain't in it when talking about Joe's conception of himself.
Don't jump from up there--set fire to yourself, it's much more dramatic.
Pikers.
I thought it might be a John Wilkes Booth reference — you know jumping from the balcony/box seats onto the stage... but that would be... terrible.
Wilkes jumped after he shot Lincoln who was sitting in the balcony not on the stage.
Except for those minor flaws it was a clever statement.
We're living in a parallel universe where everything is a Monty Python skit.
That's the second time recently that he's used a hand-held microphone when speaking at a lectern with built in mikes. The person who introduced him spoke into those built in microphones then Biden walked up and picked up the hand-held that was laying on the lectern. This created an echo in the room as the twin mikes on the lectern were left on.
Is this to give him something to do with his hands?
Temujin had me at:
"Sometimes in my idle moments, I wish Joe Biden would visit New York and use the subway."
In fact, I think he should visit a lot of places in America, in mufti, and see how regular people live and work and get around. In fact I think all presidents should. The State of the Union Address (if it must be an address at all, and not a letter sent to Congress by registered mail), should be about what the president has personally experienced around the Union.

81 million. Have you ever been to Chicago and seen those cantilevered bridges over the Chicago river? Pretty cool, aren't they? Well I own several of them and they are all for sale.
I don't think he's allowed to say anything that isn't on the teleprompter. Maybe they let him ad-lib a little on days when they give him the strong drug.
"Again sorry it took so long. And on such a heavy topic — cancer, suicide, and a possibly demented President."
We are far past the point of "possibly."
CWJ: "I remember him promising, if elected, to cure cancer."
This is about the 5th or 6th time Biden's Earpiece has promised to cure cancer.
Almost as many times as obambi/biden proclaimed the Summer of Recovery!..(that was every year from 2009 thru 2016)
--- jumping from the balcony/box seats onto the stage... but that would be... terrible. [AA]
Those ellipses are... telling.
Does Joe, and Joe's handlers, not remember he already did this in 2016?
=========
y'll iz morons >>> FJB is real smartypants >>> knows cancer can return so need second cure!

Not a day goes by w/o some Althouse gibberish. And she's calling other's "demented"?
I should add that if TCRT works, it could cure pancreatic cancer. Right now, pancreatic cancer is a nearly always a death sentence.
Althouse community.
I've commented here about TCRT to give future cancer patients hope. Mr. Market should know in early 2023 if it works.
I'm also thinking there will be tremendous pressure on the FDA to speed approval.
And did I mention brain cancer too?
I know of at least two brain cancer victims, one lung cancer victim and two pancreatic cancer victims. Creighton's Fr. Schlegel died of pancreatic cancer. A top exec at UPRR died of pancreatic cancer. The wife of the NBC CEO died of pancreatic cancer. Long list.

The only people dumber than Joe Biden are his supporters like Mutaman.
my take : FJB is being inspiringly aspirational : he wants them to climb higher before jumping.
change my mind.
Pancreas, liver and brain cancers are some tough customers Dave. I pray your expectations work out. There are many medical miracles on the verge of being possible.
One trend that I hate is the habit of giving our adversaries an uncharitable reading of every single confusing statement. It's just a death spiral of taking comments out of context to "prove" how stupid or evil "the other guys" are. Here, have we even seen what Biden was looking at? Might there be someone leaning over a railing who he was speaking to? Or, is the most reasonable assumption that he was telling cancer patients not to commit suicide? I fucking hate partisans.

I'm sorry-it isn't my fault. I couldn't afford to pay all that money and go to Trump University to get educated like you.
