An argument to Wisconsin: Do we want to "become Florida"?

I'm reading the linked article, and see that DeSantis gave a speech in Green Bay "just an hour before the Packers' home opener against the Chicago Bears, predicting Wisconsin would turn into Sunshine State of the north if Tim Michels is elected governor in November."

So DeSantis is selling himself as a brand. Instead of DeSantis being another politician in the image of Trump, he's presenting himself as the image that other politicians, like Michels, can be in the image of.

It’d be cool to accurately refer to the Badger state as the “free state of Wisconsin,” in the same way people refer to Florida. That’s probably what Ron meant. Note: no one is “like Trump” by virtue of his outsider status, thus no one claims that. One would have to be hated by “leaders” in both parties to fit that description.

An excellent observation, Professor.

Wisconsinites who felt — at the time or in retrospect — that lockdowns were an overreaction to COVID-19, are no doubt looking enviously at Floridians. Wisconsin parents who think that having the schools push sex ed on kindergarteners and first graders because of pressure from trans activists, might look enviously at Florida.

And besides, if Inga hates him that much then Michels must be chock full of redeeming qualities!

The left's policies are failing badly, both here and abroad, so they are desperate to switch the topic and focus on "images" instead. They create a fictional Florida "image" and try to demonize it for their dwindling foolish and naive voters. They hold a cartoon up in front of their base instead of talk about substantive solutions. They can't admit that there are any problems because they created the problems. What inflation? What crime? What immigration problems?

If instead of the Florida image they said "would you like to have more responsive government, a more successful education policy, better economy and less crime?" that would be more accurate but much less successful.

The left is scared. You can see it in the comments here. Nothing about worsening conditions for every segment of America, and frankly, the world, under their governance. Instead of policy plans it's all about Trump and "Nazis".

The left is fiddling the Trump violin while the world burns. Their biggest fears are to be laughed at or to be ignored and both are coming true before their eyes.

Sarah Rodriquez represents the 13th WI State Rep District which consists of eastern Brookfield (conservative), Elm Grove (really rich white woke liberal), and western Wauwatosa. Wauwatosa has been in decline for a decade, and like Milwaukee the downturn sped up for the last three years. Now, it is bleeding over into Elm Grove, which is historically Greater Milwaukee's richest suburb.

I have woke liberal white cousins in all three areas. I'll guarantee if DeSantis dumped 50 Venezuelan migrants in Elm Grove, WI...they would pull a Martha's Vineyard and deport them from town FAST. They hang the same "all are welcome here" signs as the hypocritical vineyard.

I'd imagine she wins the 13th District more because of Wauwatosa minorities and Elm Grove college educated white women. Eastern Brookfield is just kind of fucked I guess.

Well, if Michels won and did turn Wisconsin into Florida North, would that mean we would no longer see thousands of Wisconsinites flocking here from Jan-May? And more of them buying second homes here? And hundreds of others saying f*** it, let's just move there permanently?

We need to know because there are many other state populations wanting to move here for some odd reason or ten.

Gusty Winds said...

Gilbar said...

You nailed it. It's like interstate penis envy for Wisconsin liberals. So much so they embrace and emulate Illinois corruption. The ONLY saving grace here is the rural make up of the state keeps the legislature in GOP hands.

But for statewide elections, I don't think Tim Michels or Ron Johnson stand a chance this November. God I hope I'm wrong.

Milwaukee is already harvesting and forging absentee ballots full force. They basically announced it. I can't imagine Green Bay, Madison, and Racine aren't doing the same as they did in 2020. These are all heavily populated blue areas for Wisconsin. You can't overcome those fraud numbers. I figure a GOP candidate has to win a statewide race by 10% to beat the fraud.

The GOP dominated W.O.W counties that put Scott Walker in office, (Waukesha, Ozaukee, Washington) have changed, so the numbers aren't there. Ozaukee now has more college educated woke white liberals than it did ten years ago. The Millennials are now 30. Waukesha and Washington counties have absorbed white liberals fleeing violent Milwaukee County, in search of safety, better schools, and better housing.

They're breeding us out.

Noticed that Inga's list consists mostly of complaints that Florida government is responsive to the people she doesn't like in Florida.

Not sure about that odd inclusion of judiciary though. If she's referring to Judge Cannon, she's a Federal District judge who's brief includes Florida. Nothing to do with DeSantis or anybody else in Florida state government.

Lurker21 said...

This is a "stunt" for both sides. Instead of arguing about what's good for Wisconsin, people argue about whether they like DeSantis. Intelligent voters won't be distracted. But how many of them are there, really?

Jersey Fled said...

Boy,that response was weak even by Inga's standards.

Gusty Winds said...

At this point I believe the only way a GOP candidate can win a Wisconsin Statewide election is for the red counties to implement the same absentee ballot harvesting and fraud schemes that have been successfully implemented in Madison, Green Bay, Racine, and Milwaukee.

You have to get GOP areas like Merton, WI to 100% turnout and 95% GOP votes.

There are precincts in Milwaukee with those impossible numbers.

But that's not going to happen. Those areas still vote in person and show an ID. Plus logistics is a problem. People are more spaced apart and not as concentrated so going to door to door asking "have you filled out your absentee ballot yet" is difficult. In the blue areas everyone lives on top of each other, so door to door ballot harvesting is easier.

After military bases phosphate mines and citrus, the biggest businesses in Florida are the retirees homes with their Gerontology medical offices and Funeral homes. Florida law also doesn't allow for the State to issue general revenue bonds and the State has made it clear that it will not guarantee local government pension funds and that the plans must collect contributions based on actuarial requirements and not on speculative returns ( the public sector hates that since pay increases are muted). Wisconsin should be fortunate enough to be as relatively well governed as Florida. All the more reason why the Inga's of Wisconsin wanting to become Illinois is incomprehensible.

The New Soviet Democratical groomers and their groomer enablers, like Inga, have proven conclusively they cannot be trusted to speak about anything in "non sexual" ways to small children (which they hide from the parents) and therefore should just keep their sick practices, like male adults showering with their daughters, to themselves and stop trying to force everyone to agree with them that it's "perfectly normal".

It isn't.

The reality of that was demonstrated conclusively in Virginia during the last Governor's race when many suburban liberal women who would normally vote democratical were forced to confront the reality of the sick teaching of the left (ironically due to zoom lessons that the parents listened to because democraticals closed the schools) and abandoned the New Soviet Democratical Party and voted in Youngkin.

It's never far from the surface for you democraticals, is it Inga?

Now, this very evening, would be an excellent moment for Inga to simply state that upon reflection, she would like to take back or at least revisit her earlier declarations that Joe Biden is "perfectly normal" given the heartfelt story and reflections Ashley Biden captured in her very own diary regarding the utterly sick practice of Joe Biden in showering with his adolescent daughter.

Acts that Ashley Biden state messed her up sexually, emotionally and mentally.

Let's see what Inga does....(though I suspect we all know the probable outcome of that challenge, don't we?)

Inga,

I just finished reading Florida Statute HB 1557 and have learned that everything you claimed the law said was false. Why are you lying about something that can be so easily checked? Florida is a very transparent state and all Florida laws are easily accessible online.

Parents ask federal judge to block Florida schools from carrying out 'Don't Say Gay' law
The group on Friday asked for a hearing in their pursuit of a preliminary injunction

“The group at the heart of the lawsuit contends that the legislation is discriminating against the LGBTQ community, arguing that they “already have been silenced and disciplined, have censored themselves or their children, and have lost access to library materials that acknowledge the existence of LGBTQ people.”

Further, they contend that the law is vague and susceptible to different interpretations, citing the term “classroom instruction,” which is causing schools to expand the scope to activity beyond lesson plans, instructions, or assignments.”

Inga takes the lies she hears on NBC, NBC's View and MSNBC - and spreads them. she probably mixes some of her own fresh lies in there as well. Lies used to spread false narratives are the backbone of the democrat party now.

Again Inga- did you read the law> NO. Nothing in it about "Don't say gay"

Why are you so intent on sexualizing 1-3 graders in public schools?

"Classroom instruction" is vague?

Seems fairly straight forward to keep the topic of sex out of 1-3rd grade. Why homosexuals assume everything is about them is self-absorbed lunacy.

Not allowing sex topics in 1-3rd grade is "discriminating about the LGBTQ community."

How?
Are topics of LGBTQ so sacred they must be inserted into 1-3 grade curriculum? Again -why?
Why are gender and homosexual topics - or any sex topics OK for 1-3 graders?
Who would or should hetero, homosexual and transgendered subject matter be appropriate at such a young age?
Why the need to force age incorporate sex talk and then hide that sex-talk to 1-3 graders (which is what the left demand with their anti-transparency laws)

Why are leftist democratics anti-transparency? "Don't say Groomer"

Inga,

Lets talk about the actual law (HB 1557). It is easy to access online. Type hb1557 into Google and you will find the link provided by Florida to their online archive of laws. It isn’t a long statute.

Do you see anything in the law that supports the quotes of the group you cited? Why do think that this group doesn’t include any of the actual legal text in their quotes? Why is the law so different from what they describe?

A lot of folks are moving to Florida. Not so much to WI.
Trump has little influence on that. DeSantis, as a governor of that magnet state, is better suited to state issues.
