I love everything you've posted from that geography guy.
I don't even want to know anybody who doesn't rate the 70 year old lady as number 1!
Mom gave me a letter I left under pillow for tooth fairy. "Leave some money pretty soon or I will Kick your butt"
The 90 year old lady’s son was so kind to let her think he was just fooling her after all. You could see she was relieved. 70’s the limit, not a day older, ya hear?
The seventy year old lady. Love her accent and smile. her son was sweet about her confusion.
I thought the son was quite unkind playing a guessing game with his mother and tormenting her. He should have said at the outset "Yes, you will be 70" or else "Actually you will be 90, but let's have a 70th birthday party for you."
Geography guy is delightful.
12 year old's letter is great!
As requested: 1, 3, 4, 6, 2, 10, 9, 7, 8, and 5.
I said Chile. Didn't realize Brazil was so long.
I know Barrow is now Utqiavik. Point Barrow is Nuvuk, but I guess that name hasn't overtaken the Anglo.
Sometimes a m-f talks nice to your face: I Have to say, Undisputed Truth did it better with Smiling Faces.
"I thought the son was quite unkind playing a guessing game with his mother and tormenting her."
I was on the fence about including that one because I thought that might be the response. But look how positive most of the responses were. It was #1 for a lot of you.
I follow other dementia TikTokkers, and now I'm inclined to show you some other things. I think it's inspiring seeing how happy some of these people are and how much love and care their adult children are able to provide. I'm sure some of you have been in this situation as caregivers or even are going into this condition as a patient. I think the videos make it less fearsome and even beautiful.
There is one that I follow where a beloved grandmother has become brutally mean. The granddaughter shows unflinching love, even as grandma is saying things like "I hate you" and "You're so ugly."
There's an issue of invading the privacy of someone who cannot consent. The same issue is present with every video of a baby or a child.
I don't know yet, haven't seen the TikTok. I'm guessing Chile.
#5--The Be A Man guy was my favorite. I watched some of his other videos, and he has a good 1990s TV regional furniture store ad vibe going. "Don't let anyone ruin your day. Ruin it yourself. Be a Man."

It would be so easy to respond in kind. I wonder if videotaping the interactions helps people keep a mental position of observer and makes it easier to not react emotionally.
#4 is #1 for me.
Geography guy is #2.
Disagree with Ann. The son was nice to his mom, but it is cruel to show her dementia to the world.
Count me among those who think the dementia video was cruel. I don't get any enjoyment out of a dementia patient deliberately made to feel confused.
The map guy is always so entertaining.
The dementia woman was very sweet. The video appeared to be lovingly made so I thought it was fine, though I can imagine a ticked-off child posting something mean or ugly.
TikTok vs. realty made me laugh, ruefully
I liked the Real Man man.
Can’t remember anything else.
Best I liked the lady with a birthday coming up: little by little getting to see how it is between her and her son, their relationship -- and a very good relationship it is. They both seem like people I'd like to know.
Close second best: Krgyzi B'n'B, the colors, the mountains, the breakfast -- mmmm. One camera shot went by too fast but was that a fabric-lined shower stall?! Or fur-lined? ... Weird -- but I wouldn't stay away on that account. Beautiful.
Geography trivia and corn lyrics tied for third place, and with these we sink to the merely tolerable. The rest are various degrees of fail, and none so low as the muh-fuh lip-syncher: if future installments get no worse than that I'll count my blessings.
PS
1 Geography guy inspired my husband to spend 10 minutes researching the question. He notes:
- claim to Queen Maud Land is unenforceable, along with claims to uninhabited rocks
- the US does have a research station at the South Pole
- Great Britain is the real winner
2 Shout out to the corn kid's grandmother who so loves the conversation. And she bought him the corn!
