I finished watching the French cop show Spiral (Engrenages). It's very good. It lags a bit in one of the later seasons with a complicated money laundering plot that I didn't understand, but the last season was more satisfying than it is with many series. Other good French shows are The Bureau, a spy story which suffers in the final season after the hero has betrayed everyone he ever worked for, knew, or loved, and A French Village, a story of resistance and collaboration under the German occupation that holds up well (History helps when you're trying to work out plots for movies).
I tried to watch Moonfall. It was awful. A critic said it better than I could: "There’s nothing worthwhile here; the landscape of wretched banality offers only wasted time and a sense of despair."

J.D. Vance has all but disappeared here in Ohio. Perhaps he's holding his fire for some reason. The Dem Tim Ryan is everywhere with ads. He's also running a populist campaign. He boasts about agreeing with Trump on trade, and paints Vance as anti-free trade and anti-law enforcement. He (Ryan) even treats China as an adversary, stealing jobs, and then links Vance to the outsourcing. I'm concerned that Vance will lose if he doesn't step up his game quickly.

One of my favorite television series; I think I was watching on Netflix years ago and made it through however many seasons they had available. But then when I found the succeeding season or seasons, I tried watching and, eh, as you say the plot was incomprehensible. But maybe I'll give it another try. Am saving A French Village for the rainy season.
