BREAKING: Internal email reveals day before Jan 6 riot, US Capitol Police intel unit warned "BLM from Baltimore" was bussing in rioters: "BLM/Antif will wear MAGA hats, wear camo, and attempt to blend in with MAGA crowd" so violence blamed on Trump supporters attending Trump rally

Succession isn't getting any better.
Agreed on both counts.
I liked tattoos when they were few and far between. When they told you something about the person with them. Now it just means they are under 40 and not Jewish. I especially dislike seeing beautiful young woman gunking up their skin with meaningless ink they gave no thought to.
And Succession--Seasons 1 & 2 were Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous Meets the World's Worst Family. Season 3 is the worlds worst family sitting around someone's apartment shouting "Fuck You!" at each other. Who isn't bored by this?
The Liberal World Order. As it was in the 1950s and 1960s or as it is today? Would Truman or Eisenhower really recognize it today? Like so much else, it's an "evolving paradigm," and like so many other concepts or institutions (the EU, NATO, the UN, the US federal project for that matter) the evolution is in the direction of greater power for the centralized authority. Evolving means taking off the guardrails that limit the power of the governing organizations, or the dominant powers within the system. So what the Liberal World Order was and what it is or will become are as different as Karl Popper's idea of the Open Society is from George Soros's.
The "arc of history" that bends toward justice also bends towards greater power of institutions and power blocs, at least as many Americans perceive things. For much of the rest of the world it is merely a change of masters, if even that. But it wasn't so much loss of freedom I was thinking about, as the inevitable conflicts that arise when institutions and ideas that have been kept within limits overstep those limits and demand more control or wider application.
As I said, Cassidy Hutchinson was trolling Lizzie Cheney and the J6 Committee with her testimony. They swallowed it hook, line and sinker. So did the Lie-Stream Media and all of their audience. Hutchinson thought the J6C was BS.
Re tatoos- I am a sort of mentor to a lovely young 30ish woman. I admire her greatly, personally and professionally. She has a series of numbers tattooed on her forearm. She told me it's the latitude and longitude of a girl scout camp that was very meaningful to her. I thought but of course did not tell her that the first tattoo I remember seeing was a series of numbers on the forearm of a friend of my grandmother, who had survived the concentration camp. Some of her fellow survivors had had the numbers eradicated, some chose to keep them as a remembrance. I'm old, was born as an early boomer, and know my time has passed. I could claim that the sight of numbers tattooed on forearms triggers me, or at least point out to my young friend that she is open to misinterpretation. I choose to do nothing but appreciate having her as a friend and young colleague. But I remember.
Time to ask the statists in the audience once again: Do you celebrate or observe the 4th of July? And if you do, what on earth are you celebrating? Seriously--I'd like to know.
I recently switched from MHz (Euro television series, mostly not current shows) at Amazon Prime to MHz stand-alone; same price, less money to Amazon.
Anyway, one of their 'new' shows is Gramsci, a 'powerful docudrama [in 3 parts] on the life and works'. First. 'Recently jailed, he writes to friends and relatives recalling moments from their past.' Second. 'In prison, he imagines speaking to the Congress of Soviets to denounce the distortions of nascent Stalinism.' Third. 'He shuts himself in isolation and works on his prison notebooks.'
Am trying to imagine how large and diverse an audience there might be for the series, inveigled by those synopses, particularly if the potential viewer doesn't already know why perhaps one ought to bother at least a bit with Gramsci.

Disney could lose the exclusive rights to Mickey Mouse within two years: The iconic character's 95-year copyright expires in 2024
Once copyright expires, anyone wishing to use characters from everyone's favorite rodent will not have to request permission or pay copyright charge
"...The character could follow in the footsteps of Winnie the Pooh which recently entered the public domain after its copyright expired in January.
Since then, the children's character has been portrayed as a serial killer in horror movie Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Horror."

Suggesting the rodent may even appear in porn movies.
Quel dommage.

If you squint at the sunrise pictures, they look like maps of the surface of Jupiter.
