A very foggy sunrise...

IMG_1641D

... is still a sunrise (by the standards of this blog).

And (by the standards of this blog) a post with just a photograph and minimal words is an open thread.

they TOLD ME that July was going to be Very Hot, and Very Dry.. NOT tepid and clammy.
Here in NE iowa, we've had 3 days of 100% humidity..
76degrees is VERY uncomfortable with a dew point of 76degrees

Lia Thomas' nomination by University of Pennsylvania for NCAA 'Woman of the Year' award prompts backlash

Riley Gaines, a swimmer at the University of Kentucky who tied with Lia Thomas for fifth place at the NCAA swimming championships in March, said that "The majority of us female athletes, or females in general, really, are not okay with this, and they're not okay with the trajectory of this and how this is going and how it could end up in a few years"

This could be one of those NASA-type photos. We only have Althouse's word for it that this was taken at the exact moment of sunrise. Instead of colorized invisible spectral light we have verbal detail "intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative."

This will not be a good year to grow tomatoes in Pugetopolis. It's going to be a cool summer due to La Nina conditions. Tomatoes only thrive here during hot summers. Maybe they'll do ok in a greenhouse, but not out in a yard.

That's why going with "Global Warming" was a misstep by the Church of Climatology. Better to choose something to worry about that's more vague and non-specific. You know- like "climate change". That way when you're wrong (as every alarmist has been), you can pretend you didn't say what you did before it was clear you were full of shit.

Visiting my son in FL. Talked about the dreaded covid vax that isn't today. He worships at a Roman Catholic Church that celebrates the Latin Mass every other Sunday, and will be going tomorrow with family. 5 children for him and wife.

In the group he hangs out with, mostly parents involved in Trail Life USA with their sons, the families have between 4 and 9 children. Well more than the national average. None of the parents have been vaxxed.

Why? Well, to start, none for religious reasons. Ach of them has looked at the numbers, which have been known since the beginning of the covidiocy, and realized the untested experimental "vaccine" wasn't needed for their survival, not even theoretically. Some of them, like my son, have come down with cases or dreaded covid. A few days of flu like symptoms, a few doses of ivermectin- available in FL by prescription, delivered from compounding pharmacies since the chains won't touch the prescriptions, and he was fine and fully recovered. I assume the same is true of the others who have had it.

The future belongs to those that show up. Which means children from parents like these, who will grow up to be very skeptical that government is here to help, but rather a necessary evil that must be constrained. And they'll grow up to be pro-life. The children of the all the radical anti-lifers, er...., pro-choicers, for the most part don't exist, and won't be voting in the future and making public policy.

It also belongs to children of the Amish and Mennonites. Both communities would be much larger, but, many Amish drift into the Mennonite or other "plain folk" communities, and many Mennonites drift off into other Protestant communities.

Mormons also have larger then average families. But they cannot be counted on to be conservative. Look at, for example, Romney... And LDS leadership is very pro-vax, yet 17% of LDS are refusing the dreaded covid vaccines altogether. I'm going to go with the more sensible most educated Mormons are refusing it.

From Commander in Chief Biden's speech in Saudi Arabia:

“For the first time since 9/11, an American President is visiting this region without American troops being engaged in combat — in a combat mission in the region.”

(The region being the Middle East.)

Except that's not true. Syria is in the Middle East. Reuters, July 12, 2022: "ISIS leader in Syria killed in [a USA] drone strike. The United States has roughly 900 troops in Syria, mostly in the east of the country..."

https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/isis-leader-syria-killed-us-strike-us-officials-say-2022-07-12/

Just another example that Biden doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground

I love this summer- maybe b/c I feel so much better/out a gallbladder. The weather is cooperating decently. A little more rain would help things grow, but our humidity, so far- hasn’t been outrageous. Last year was awful for that.

My garden looks terrible. It could be I just need to add something to the soil. It’s too fine.

Bigly comes to mind, Walter. I’m kidding- but, it was the 1st thing that surfaced.

Retired Secret Service Assistant Deputy Director Jim Helminski isn’t buying the charge that the Secret Service erased USSS texts. The veteran agent of three presidencies – Clinton, Bush, and Obama – placed the blame on Tony Ornato, calling out the former secret service agent and former deputy Chief of Staff for Mark Meadows.

But Secret Service is, in the end, charged with investigating cyber and cell phone crimes, so the organization is staffed by experts capable of finding where Mr. Spic and Span was when the shit hit the fan. Further USSS can likely recover all of the texts.

But isn't it strange that U.S. Secret Service Director James Murray announced his retirement on July 7, 2022? Murray’s decision to allow Anthony Ornato to serve as a political adviser to then-President Donald Trump crossed a major line since agents are sworn to be above politics.

Joe Biden is a LIAR. Hunter made millions using the Biden name, and used his father, who helped him. THIS is wrong. THIS is why they kept attempting to take down Trump, and the Bidens were actually doing exactly that. Time for impeachment and prison.

"Hunter Biden met with his father at least 30 times at the White House or the vice president’s residence, often just days after he returned home from overseas business jaunts."

Gadfly, can you rewrite that in plain English? Who is “Mr. Spic and Span”? Is it odd that some guy announced his retirement last week? Why are we supposed to have an opinion on that? Everybody retires sooner or later. What’s special about this one?

I have to assume you spend most of your time talking to fellow travellers such that you’ve gotten careless about speaking in code (like people so used to their circle’s jargon that they stop recognizing it as jargon).

The mother of the little 10 year old girl who had an abortion is PREGNANT herself, with the child Rapists baby. (wouldn't that be cute?? Mother and daughter both pregnant by the same guy!!!) There are OTHER children in that household. Isn't that sweet?? What a world they moved to when they came here illegally. Of course, they won't be sent home because they are in a Sanctuary city and the Democrats have no problem with Rapists from Mexico unless the little 10 year old has to go to another state to get her abortion...THEN they get pissed. This is like the Twilight Zone. I wish I could wake up from this nightmare that the LEFT (I live in a SANCTUARY STATE!!) is causing.

I think I see where our lefty moron gadfly is headed with his typically dumb comments. Ornato I believe is the Secret Service agent that refuses to lie to back up the idiotic "Trump tried to grab the steering wheel!" lies pushed by Cassidy Hutchison before The Hopeless gadfly's beloved Soviet Show Trial Committee.

Because Ornato will not lie as a "good" lefty/NeverTrumper/dem (but I repeat myself) is supposed to, he is now being attacked by all the farthest left lefties and their voice-actuated automaton NPC's, like our Hopeless gadfly.

You'll notice our Hopeless lefty gadfly will routinely repost content almost verbatim from his/her/xer's beloved leftist sites without attribution as if it were his/her/xer's thoughts and ideas to hide the fact its just the daily leftist lie-droning on and on and on.

Lefty Hopeless gadfly continues this bizarre and hoax-y online fake conservative pushing far left talking points every single day schtick that is quite reminiscent of another commenter that no longer appears on these august blog threads: LLR ***** (He Who Shall Not Be Named)

So they say Biden is being pumped with drugs to sound halfway coherent. Somebody says, look at his 2020 convention acceptance speech. He must have been heavily drugged to give that. Somebody else says it obviously wasn't live. No, someone else adds, they used all kinds of video editing tools to make him sound lucid. And someone else throws in, hey it wasn't even him -- it was a double.

I'm watching that speech now. It is him. He is strangely coherent and not flubbing up. It looks like it must have been prerecorded. No way could that be live. But what's most striking to me is all that talk about light, and hope, and change, and love, and unity. I can see why someone who heard the speech and saw Biden's ads and wasn't paying attention to anything else might have voted for him. It's the idea that granddad will always be there to put things right and take care of you and see that everybody plays by the same rules. But how did that turn out? And what the hell are they thinking now?

I love this summer- maybe b/c I feel so much better/out a gallbladder.

I had a gallstone ("the size of a golf ball" but I had the sense that the surgeon uses that line on everyone) removed in November last, after all sorts of unpleasantness. But he decided that it wasn't necessary to remove the gall bladder.

On the bright side (and today is a beautiful 6th Sunday after Pentecost), if ever the symptoms start happening again I'll know what to point out at first contact with the doctor's office.
