The lefties have uncovered a new culprit for Slo' Joe's inflation catastrophe, none other than the Jan 6 protest. No joke!

“I think the banana Republicans who are saying that what happened on January 6 was nothing or OK are undermining the basic credibility of our country’s institutions,” Summers said on Sunday in a CNN interview.

“And that, in turn, feeds through for inflation. Because if you can’t trust the country’s government, why should you trust its money?”

Summers would be Former Obama administration Treasury Secretary Larry Summers.

I tuned into PBS news-hour for just one bloody second. Again. It was a test. They failed.

Sure enough - what do I hear? ..."Presi... " *er.. pause* "FORMER President Trump..." yammer yammer yammer.

They actually need Trump to be president so they have something to talk about.

“Under any circumstances, putting an irresponsible, ignorant man who takes his advice from all the wrong people in charge of the nation with the world’s most important economy would be very bad news,” he wrote.

Who wrote that and when? None other than NY Times writer and Nobel prize winner Paul Krugman. It was written the day after Donald Trump was elected president November 8,2016

Every few days in the last ten, I've been tasking Duke Energy online to fix a couple of the purple LED streetlights near me. I've lost count--8, 9, or 10 on a half mile stretch of our main drag, including 2 a few minutes ago. They now have 4 more yet to repair. I kind of miss the indigo glow visible from my house, but Safety First. As a stockholder, I shouldn't be enjoying making them spend money so much. Power corrupts.

My dad, in his late 80's, had been very fortunate not to catch covid since the outbreak started. Two weeks ago, he went on a European cruise, with my sister, that was planned and paid before his wife, my stepmother, died and before the pandemic outbreak. Lo and behold he catches it just before coming back. Or so they claim over there. He had flue like symptoms, but otherwise said he felt fine. The thing is, he was "vaccinated" and boosted, 3 shots. Droved back and forth from Fla to Georgia a couple times. Traveled back and back and forth to the DR something like seven times, since my stepmom passed, and never caught it. We all thought he was immune or something. He's staying in a hotel a few days with my sister, even though international travel restrictions to the US have been lifted.

Today we heard the testimonies and voices from the following famous Trump Administration folks throwing The Donald under the bus telling us what Trump knew and when he knew it.
*US Atty “BJay” Pak
*Bill Barr
*Bill Stepien
*Al Schmidt
*Alex Cannon
*"Javanka"
*Rudy Giuliani
*Sidney Powell
*Chris Stirewalt
*Jason Miller
*Ben Ginsberg

Only The Big Lie Losers, including Drago, who donated a portion of the $200,000 million to the grifter to save his election, continue to believe in TFG. Not a dollar went toward that purpose BTW.

Tune-in Wednesday to listen to Donald admit his guilt to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger 11,780 times.

This would be the worst case scenario of the end for people who've succumbed to hysteria and had the "clot shots".

There have been multiple reports of such clotting in people, and now it's apparently been analyzed. Formation rate appears to be variable in people. Don't know if there's any way to detect their growth until it's too late. Or if it's too late once you've got the shot...

If it happens to everyone who's received the shot, we're headed for disaster of biblical proportions. It's why we (used to) do long term studies before approving medications or vaccines. Especially ones with wholly new delivery systems- like mRNA.

Poor, pathetic, voice-actuated democratical NPC gadfly. Its been a tough day for you and Team Dem.

I'll repost an earlier comment of mine from another thread just for you and your woke pals:

Uh oh! Looks like there is trouble in the Mutaman/gadfly/readering/Left Bank "The Walls Are Closing In" world:

John Bresnahan@bresreports
"NEW - @BennieGThompson says the Jan. 6 select cmte will NOT make any criminal referral to the Justice Department on Trump or anyone else"
5:37 PM · Jun 13, 2022

Civil War on the Thompson Left vs the Cheney/Schiffty/Lauria Stalinist Left.

From gadfly's favorite source, CNN (sorry Joy Reid, you are only gadfly's 2nd favorite source):

"Rep. Liz Cheney, who serves as vice chair of the committee, released a statement contradicting the chairman’s comments. “The January 6th Select Committee has not issued a conclusion regarding potential criminal referrals. We will announce a decision on that at an appropriate time,” the Wyoming Republican tweeted.

The comment marked a rare public break between the two leaders of the committee."

Yes, you read that correctly.

Liz Cheney (D-Pelosi's Lap) is now securely positioned to the far left of lefty Thompson.

"Unexpectedly"

"Trump releases 12-page response to Jan. 6 hearing" from The Hill.

That cannot possibly be true because Trump is incapable of concentrating long enough to read twelve pages . . . let alone, write twelve pages.

Tony Schwartz, who wrote Trump's “The Art of the Deal” regards one of Trump’s most essential characteristics: “He has no attention span.” But Schwartz believes that Trump’s short attention span has left him with “a stunning level of superficial knowledge and plain ignorance.” He said, “That’s why he so prefers TV as his first news source—information comes in easily digestible sound bites.” He added, “I seriously doubt that Trump has ever read a book straight through in his adult life.” During the eighteen months that he observed Trump, Schwartz said, he never saw a book on Trump’s desk, or anywhere else in his office, or in his apartment.

The lefties...Summers would be Former Obama administration Treasury Secretary Larry Summers.

Summers was Treasury Secretary under Clinton, not Obama. But he did head the NEC for the first year or so of Obama's presidency. In both roles, Summers was a centrist Democrat. He spent most of his time in the 90s advocating for neoliberal economic reforms like the privatization and liberalization of the post-Soviet Russian economy and the deregulation of the financial industry. His positions were often backed by people like Robert Rubin, Arthur Levitt, and Alan Greenspan.

He had flue like symptoms

But everyone wants to be tall and thin!

When I flew cross country regularly in the late 80s, I would often get colds afterwards. I believe it was the dry air in the plane making my mucus membranes more fragile and infectible. I've used a humidifier at home in cold weather for 40 years.

"telling us what Trump knew "

So these people "know" what Trump "knew" and what they told Trump is "evidence" but when I point out that the people in a position to know, the people responsible, said that Trump authorized 10,000 National Guard troops, that's not "evidence."

Have you ever had the experience, gadfly, of somebody telling you something, and you believed that the were wrong? I think you just did, with Drago, for one.

Same thing happened to my daughter's in-laws. Survived covid in NYC area for 2+ years. Went on a river boat cruise in Europe. Had to get a test in France to board returning flight and tested positive. Quarantined in the hotel for 10 days before they could come home.

I smell a conspiracy theory here.

BTW three of my wife's most hard core Lefty friends all caught Covid in the last two weeks. My personal theory is that all they accomplished with their obsessive masking and isolation these past 2 years was to avoid building any kind of natural immunity. Relaxed a little bit lately and Bingo!

Given the collapse of the US economy across the board with record setting negative public responses to Biden's Earpieace/gadfly's moronic policy choices, I have to give credit the lefty "Chairman" of the democraticals Stalinist Show Trial TV comedy, Bennie Thompson.

Thompson knows this "production" is another Pelosi/Schiffty/Cheney loser and he is taking steps to extricate himself from the inevitable blowback from a republican takeover in the House.

Stalinist Cheney isnt worried because she knows she is already "out" and MSNBC will pay her $1M+ per year to make Joy Reid look like William F Buckley!

Ever wonder what the current president’s attention span is? I’d bet it’s less than Donald J Trump’s. Just like his IQ being so much lower than Trump’s. Now I wonder why certain people are so obsessed with the former president at the same time the current one is demonstrating his complete fecklessness and ability to string three coherent sentences together. Very curious to set up such a contrast and not even see where the reader goes with it. Maybe it’s mental illness.

Tim in vermont: "Have you ever had the experience, gadfly, of somebody telling you something, and you believed that the were wrong? I think you just did, with Drago, for one."

Tim, when dealing with gadfly remember that gadfly still believes:
- Hillary's hoax dossier was completely verified
- the russia russia russia collusion hoax is "real" and has been proven
- Trump laundered billions for Putin
- Putin changed vote totals to "install" Trump in 2016
(Insert the 100+ other gadfly/BlueAnon conspiracies here)

Gadfly the idiot doesnt even realize the Raffensberger/Trump phone call transcript was discovered and released LAST YEAR and completely destroyed that hoax!

Once again we return to that most pertinent of political questions:

Is it truly an advantage or disadvantage for the dems that democratical voice-actuated NPC morons like gadfly have zero critical thinking capability and operate like automatons whenever a button is pushed by their democratical betters?

There are political pros and cons, to be sure. But the key question remains: on net and in the long term, is it a plus or a minus?

I am going to posit it is a long term net political negative.

From Ace of Spades HQ:

Rachel Maddow (yes, Rachel Maddow!): "Yes, there was a pro-Trump rally, at which the President spoke, and we can absolutely talk about all the things the President said there. But the idea that that rally is the thing that got out of hand and that somehow resulted in the breaching of the Capitol—that rally was very far from the capital, and the people who […] did the initial breach that allowed everybody else to come in, they never went to that rally.”

What? Even Rachel Maddow Isn’t Drinking the J6 Committee’s Kool-Aid

Yes, as noted elsewhere, self-described "true conservative" gadfly is positioned far to the left of Rachel Maddow.

You know, because all "muh principles" "true conservatives" are...........

People with high IQs tend to spend less time understanding stuff, and getting stuff done, BTW. I am not sure if this equates to a short attention span, it certainly does not point to any kind of deficit. Do I have explain further why it doesn't, gadfly? Spend the extra time making it clear so you will understand what I mean, and if it takes more time for you to understand it, does that mean that you have a superior attention span?

I ran into the word "lambent" in the wild yesterday, in the novel "The Crying of Lot 49." It took me a few seconds to remember what it meant, from the Althouse post a couple months back, to disambiguate it from "limpid," where it seemed to reside in my brain. It certainly interrupted the narrative flow, but since the book seems to be more like poetry, I guess that's OK.

Shows up in many areas. I have engaged in troubleshooting mechanical systems many times. First question I'm asked afterwards is- "How did you know that was the problem?" The only answer is- because I knew.

If you know a system, if you know your job, you don't need to spend time mulling over the decision tree. You jump to he right answer- or decision- without agonizing over it. Success in business depends on being right more than wrong. And being really successful depends on making a lot of decisions, quickly.

It shouldn't surprise me anymore, the disconnect between Gadfly et. al.'s image of Trump as a stupid crook, and the fact that the finest investigative bodies in the world, public and private, here and abroad, have failed to turn up any actual criminal behavior. (Oh, that must be because the stupid crook manages to hide the evidence . . . down the retarded rabbit hole they go.)

It's like the old Confederate jibe about Grant being a drunken butcher. Doesn't say much for his opponents that they got beat by a drunken butcher, does it?
