He said they “should be investing more in production.” Now think about this, his administration has a goal to end our use of fossil fuels by 2035. What CEO in his right mind would dare go to his board and ask for the billions of dollars necessary for such an investment? This administration has pledged to put the industry out of business, yet they dare to ask them to produce more. The rising gasoline prices are one of the biggest self-inflicted wounds in our history. This was totally predictable….cancel Keystone XL, close federal land for drilling, deny and slow walk all permits and unnecessarily tighten regulations.
Fuel prices, and all products delivered by or dependent on fuel consumption, will continue to rise…..with no end in sight. Nobody cares about 1/6. The only “6” they care about is the $6 gasoline. On every issue that matters to average people the Republicans hold the best answer. The Democrats have ceded rational governance to Republicans, so their only hope of maintaining power is to demonize their opponents, make the electorate afraid of them, tell lies and gaslight. They win, not because they have a better plan for the future, but because they make others believe that the Republicans are literally Hitler. That is their only story, and so they have to keep pounding that story.

That is the repeating cycle: Demonize the R's, so they (the D's) get elected. Proceed to destroy everything through bad policy so the voters elect R's again. Lather, rinse, repeat. Yeah no, he warned them off. He also whines about gas prices getting separated from oil prices, when his administration took refinery capacity permanently off line during the pandemic, to convert it to biofuels, which I don't see anywhere at any actual pumps. Fewer refineries, less gasoline and diesel, and so higher prices.

It's a shell game. Not to mention that, while US oil production has gone up since the depths of the pandemic, it's far below where it was pre-pandemic under Trump.

There is an issue w/the cargo containers. Still. They’ve moved them out of eyesite but they still can’t be unloaded quickly enough, which means cargo going out is backed up- it’s a hell of a mess. Plus the countries keeping their commodities to themselves due to threat of famine- plus the war.
