Posted on an earlier thread about the MRI dye shortage. Spoke with my daughter today who works in the imaging department at the local hospital. According to her, the shortage is real and severe. As a result, MRI's are being delayed in a significant way.

Yeah, based on the leaves, I think golden alexander was the correct identification.
I'm sure it's not wild parsnip though. This just isn't a place where they would allow something like that to take over, but also here's a video about identifying wild parsnip, and it has distinctive leaves and stem (plus it's taller).

The real nasty is giant hogweed, like wild parsnip but much taller (4-5 feet!). They have in common a sap that makes skin super-sensitive to sunlight (as in: You'd better stay inside in the daytime for the next year or so), but the hogweed's is more potent. They are very common around here; we had a very wet spring, so everything is growing outrageously, and there's hogweed on most of my favorite walks. Stay back! (One place a few blocks from my house has both giant hogweed and poison oak. Yummy.)
Coincidentally, I'm just rereading an Elizabeth George novel, Missing Joseph. The plot involves a man killed when a woman serves him what she thought was wild parsnip, but turns out to be water hemlock. Totally different critter, and much nastier. You can eat wild parsnip, after all. Eating water hemlock causes you to die, and not prettily. The woman in question here is an herbalist, and therefore it's a cause of concern that she didn't see the totally different tubers below ground -- one for parsnip, a whole bunch for water hemlock.
When I looked up giant hogweed online, I saw that the sun-exposure warnings go for wild parsnip as well. The only superficially similar plant that doesn't is Queen Anne's Lace, which ISTR is basically wild carrot.
Wild parsnip is also not yet in bloom.
So Here you Go! It is TOTALLY INACCURATE to say that 'charges have been dropped'

Nancy Pelosi husband’s DUI court date set; no decision yet on potential charges
..no decision has been made on whether he will face criminal charges.
Napa County District Attorney Allison Haley announced Thursday that Paul Pelosi agreed to a court date of Aug. 3 at 8:30 a.m. in Napa County Superior Court.
If criminal charges are filed, he will be arraigned at that time. Haley said her office is currently reviewing charges stemming from the DUI arrest of Paul Pelosi

Well, giant hogweed is, at least around here. I wonder how long the Salem authorities will wait before mowing it all down. They've done that previous years, but this year the, um, outbreak has been very severe.
Who ever thought that something called "Giant Hogweed" would take off as an ornamental plant, anyway? Because that's how it got here, as an introduced ornamental. When you see a big one in bloom, it's like, "Get thee behind me, Satan!"
Anyway, I agree with other commenters that what you have there isn't fennel -- finocchio -- but something else. Fennel is extremely easy to identify: Break off a leaf, and smell.
