Borrowing edge and then retreating when criticized.

Tank laughed at this joke because, let's be honest, he is an ultra bad person.

Also:

This is why "that's not funny" is so often funny.

Temujin म्हणाले...

I read this last night and though the original tweet was clever and funny. And of course, we used to be able to joke and make fun of each other, including the opposite sexes. You know, men and women. (I cannot account for any new offshoots).

But this is how it has always been. Humans being able to joke about each other. Yes, there can be some maliciousness in the joking, but that only opens the door for you to get clever and funny back at me. It's an invitation to come back at me with something.

Todays Left/Wokesters are so freaking humorless that they cannot see anything funny in anything. However, they do find it appropriate and almost sacramental to attack men, particularly white, straight men. That sacrament is not only allowable, but necessary to show you're of the faith.

That Dave Weigel shows his weasel side when the parishioners came at him is not surprising. If he had simply told them to take a flying leap at a rolling donut it would have been so much more effective. Those people who cannot believe that someone tweeted this need to get some serious help. A world led by humorless, genderless beings who insist we live by candlelight and pray to Gaia is going to be inconvenient for a lot of folks. I don't think humanity is going to go along with it.

That's not funny!!!

Why not both?

Lighten up, Frances.

I thought it was pretty good. I also thought that, given what we read on the m5m, it was pretty on point.

Not true of all women. Probably not true of 90% or more of women.

But true enough that dating or even talking to women seems like playing Russian roulette.

If I were in the dating pool today, I'd probably be incel or gay. Those robotic sex dolls might be another option.

I'm a coward. Sure me.

Is his platform Twitter or The Washington Post? One thing is certain, if nobody complained about the retweet, I wouldn’t have known it existed.

Lilly, a dog म्हणाले...

I get it. The joke's offensive to girls that are both bipolar and bisexual.

RigelDog म्हणाले...

Jen Psaki: "That's not funny."

All woke and no joke makes Dave a dull boy.

Lurker21 म्हणाले...

It's a joke. Tell jokes about dumb husbands or asshole men if you like.

But then, anybody with any public presence (i.e. blue checkmark people) ought to know better than to tell offensive jokes in public. Retweeting a joke about African-Americans or Jews or Asians will also get you into trouble. Leave the sketchy material up to the proles.

Ice Nine म्हणाले...

>"I just removed a retweet of an offensive joke. I apologize and did not mean to cause any harm."<

No problem, Dave, because words and jokes don't cause harm...well, you know, except in the warped imaginations of those who go around needing and seeking their own little piece of the "harm" action.

cassandra lite म्हणाले...

Love love love Felicia's "allowed." You don't have dig even an inch deep to see what kind of frustrated authoritarian lives in her skin. That she works at one of the country's most prominent (deserved or not) newspapers is disturbing.

Of course not every woman is Bi. Maybe physically able to have sex either way, but that is about it. My experience is that maybe half the Lesbians I have ever met were probably wired bisexual. To the Lesbians out there - if you get insanely jealous of me, when I am flirting with your GF, it’s because she is Bi, flirting back, and deep down, you know it, that I am competition, and can give her things that you can’t. There is a sexual tension between straight men and women, regardless of their respective ages. When a guy has that with a lesbian, then she is wired Bi. When not, she is wired homosexual. My partner has the same thing with (supposedly) gay guys. More guys though seem to fall into the homosexual than bisexual side, while for me, maybe half the lesbians I have me are probably wired bisexual - essentially a sharper divide between heterosexual and homosexual wired guys, than gals.

iowan2 म्हणाले...

That was a LOL moment when I saw it last night. My wife looked at me like I had finally gone over the edge. I shared the tweet, and she knew I hadn't changed. Always teased the the freshmen women by asking if the were BUG? Bi until graduation. This freshens that old stale joke.

What’s troubling is that there are people who immediately see “harm” in tweets.

loudogblog म्हणाले...

"It's the fact that you didn't immediately see the harm that is concerning for someone with your platform."

That statement just reeks of elitism. Kincaid obviously believes that journalists must be perfect gods of some kind. And like a god, you have your throne or "platform" that you use to send your great wisdom down to the mere mortals. And Kincaid is even better than you because he is able to so perfectly correct you. (And he's also concerned.)

This whole Twitter thing is weird. Most people see it as a social media platform for making personal comments on your own time off the clock. (Unless it's the twitter feed for an organization, of course.) But a lot of people see it as a 24/7 extension of the workplace and hold people up to that standard.

"Fantastic to work at a news outlet where retweets like this are allowed."

Personally, I would never want to work for a place that wouldn't "allow" me to tell a bad joke in a public place when I'm off the clock.

I thought it was funny. I must be a misogynist--I also thought Amber Heard was an unmitigated shrew.

Critter म्हणाले...

Can't people see the difference between an outrageous statement as part of a joke and a serious claim? Apparently some can't. Scott Adams says that about 1/3 or so of people just don't understand jokes and humor. Not that they don't like the joke. But they don't see it as a joke. It's the equivalent of a visual or hearing deficit.

So if we don't want to offend anyone, we can't have jokes. That is the new rule of the left. Last people I want at my dinner party.

Mikey NTH म्हणाले...

Ha, Ha Wiegel is funny guy. You go to cancel gulag!

ALP म्हणाले...

The joke was hilarious and probably cut too close for some. Roughly half of the women I have met in the last several years are eager to tell me they are bi-polar.

Jupiter म्हणाले...

Well, except. It's not either/or. Most women I have dealt with have been neither, at least as far as I knew (But what do I know?). But there are some who are both.

A lot of very smart people have tried to figure out how evolution allows anything other than balls-to-the-walls cis-het to exist, since anything else is about as maladaptive as you can get. Behavioral sterility. But no one has come up with any very compelling theory. Maybe we need to consider that actual sterility is very common -- among social insects. The theory there is that the entity that is actually selected is the Hive, and the individual insects are like cells in the hive. A cell that dies while improving the fitness of the body of which it is part enhances the chances for the genes that produced it. Maybe homosexuality is a step down that road. That would explain why the Commies are so fond of it.

Bill Peschel म्हणाले...

Demonstrates again that leftism is religion without redemption (hattip Jon Gabriel).

This is also why, as Larry Correia advises, you never negotiate with terrorists. Even social terrorists.

"It's the fact that you didn't immediately see the harm that is concerning for someone with your platform."

I kind of like how they have shortened the spike protein here. They no longer need to go into a long spiel about how X is privileged because X has been oppressed and your speech extends that oppression and therefore must be suppressed in the interest of X. Now it's just

YOUR SPEECH = HARM!

Or, "Stifle yourself, Edith!"

Greg The Class Traitor म्हणाले...

Dear Felicia Snooze,

If you genuinely think you're "harmed" by a joke on twitter, you are a pathetic loser and an emotional child, who should not have any religion world position of responsibility.

I'm surprised that DW doesn't have the Twitter Blue feature that allows one to delay publishing one's pearls of wisdom for four or five minutes (whatever it is, I don't know); of course for it to be useful one would have to be at least susceptible to doubt about one's wisdom and insight.

Hilarious joke! Amber is not bipolar but she is bisexual, a true red flag if there ever was one. Hypersexual promiscuous they should be called omnisexual in that they would schtup anything. The world is their sex object. No, she's definitely a borderline personality, you know a shit-the-bed killer in training. Entitlement up the kazoo, turn-on-a-dime lunatic much much more dangerous than a poor bipolar person. Talk about identity disorder!
