This has been a long time coming. The unelected bureaucracy can’t tolerate free speech and dissent from the U.S government’s official position. Factor in the abysmal performance of the MSM to amplify the official line, the bureaucrats must borrow an idea from Hitler, Stalin, Mao, et al., to try to hold onto power.

There are a handful of heroes appearing and they come from different parts of the political landscape. Greenwald, Taibbi, Sinema, Musk, DeSantis, Alex Berenson, Rogan, Rand Paul, Tucker and I would include Trump, though others may argue that point.
Each one has taken a stand against the cabal, elite, clerisy or whatever you want to call them. They each have different issues and come from different parts of the spectrum and society but they all have stopped totalitarian progress in it's tracks. At least for now.
None are saints, of course, but none are taking the easy way out.

If you read the letter used to justify calling the Hunter Biden laptop disinformation, the authors want to emphasize that they have NO evidence that it is Russian disinformation. Of course, they bury that fact in paragraph 5 or so. The whole purpose of the document was to fly cover for Biden.

I agree that this is a last gasp, Hail Mary attempt but it shows desperation. Desperate people do unwise things. They even do things that may not be in their own best interest. If they stole 2020, they crossed a Rubicon already. I worry about what comes next from these folks. They've already slid down the slippery graft slope and you can bet that they can feel the pit in the stomach that comes from losing influence, status and, in some circumstances, disgrace and jail. Is it too much to believe that they goad Russia into a tactical nuke as a major distraction, under the premise that we will rally around Joe? Even though I don't think that rallying will occur, desperation may trump reason.

No one is really suited for such a position, and we should be wary of anyone who thinks they can assume the mantle of determining what is 'truth'. Ms. Jankowicz is ideally suited for what is actually a political position meant to manipulate and push one version of the 'truth'. Honest people recognize that there are two sides of a story. In fact, it used to be a tenet of journalism school that there are always at least two sides to a story.
I fear we will lose this battle by arguing about Jankowicz's qualifications. We can and should mock her assumption of balance and unbiased. However, we need to fight like hell to make sure all of Washington DC realizes that this new 'board' is unacceptable and intolerable. The board is the problem regardless of who heads it up.

You know what the whole "Putin's cock-holster" thing is about? Trump didn't want this war. Of course they couldn't say "Trump doesn't want war with Russia," because people would have agreed with him, so they made up a "dossier" on Trump, which McCain, who is on video cheering on the Nazis and promising them weapons, 'leaked' to the press, a more correct term would have been 'fed' to the press.
The war machine then abused the Patriot Act to spy on Carter Page, who also opposed the war, and called its friends in the press to blast non stop anti-Putin propaganda for five years, attacking Putin, and tying Trump to him, with nary a shred of evidence, which didn't matter to either the press or to the prosecutors who were in the tank for the war party.

In science differing theories or explanations can take decades to decide between. When sea floor spreading (plate tectonics) was first proposed, the Geological Society of America officially opposed it and proposed absurd things like missing land bridges to explain away the facts supporting it. This went on for years. Einstein could never fully accept quantum mechanics. Ambiguity is something we will never banish.
