"This particular mess is due to Wapo having seen fit to accept Heard as a credible voice against domestic violence, and to publish her cynical screed as something positive and truthful for the world."

"Sure they both suck, but how bout a little more due diligence next time, Post?"

That's the top-rated comment at the Washington Post article, "Depp’s cross-examination wraps up with rehash of texts, audio clips."

Absolutely. That comment should be pasted on all the offices of the WaPo editorial staff.

Amber Heard is apparently the kind of woman who resulted in men creating the expression: "Don't stick your d*** in crazy."

Men usually learn this by their 20s, either the easy way or the hard way [pun, yes]. Women may never learn this because crazy men are often in prison or simple rapists. Where was the "life experience diversity" at WaPo?

In the 1980s the media went bonkers over supposed childhood sexual abuse per "recovered memories," which turned out to be pure insanity. Still, the McMartin Preschool and many lives were destroyed before the media-driven madness ended.

@Enigma

Heard has what the Japanese refer to as 'sanpaku' eyes. Every single photo of her has some variation on that theme.

Not crazy mind, psychopathic. There's a difference.

Heard claims that the ACLU wrote the op ed. What was the point? Publicity?

Everyone should be Heard.

Someone needs to tell Amber to use "gaslighting" as a get out of jail free card. It's the perfect excuse for every bad decision and act committed in conjunction with a gold plated charisma swami.

That's what happens when you want to avoid "bothsidesism," and reject "cruel neutrality" and "gentle cynicism."

Amber Heard looks like she was created in a test tube and deliberately nurtured to destroy lives.

Johnny Depp looks like he has spent his whole life courting destruction, recklessly pursuing perdition down all the strange dark alleyways of life.

Some day, Depp v. Heard is going to make a great movie or miniseries, all the elements of a tragedy spiced with some drunk/stoned comedy.

If Vanessa or Kate Moss doesn't want you back, JD, maybe Winona will have you. You guys were so cute back in the day.

That Depp took this to court makes me believe him more than Heard, but the truth is likely somewhere in between.

The useful lesson to be learned from Depp/Heard contretemps is that there is no useful lesson to be learned from their contretemps.....The reality principle does not intrude all that much on their lives. Gravity, the aging process, drug laws, price tags--these things aren't even useful suggestions.

Musk dated Heard after her Depp divorce.

You have got to be kidding me. I don't follow this stuff at all, and I have heard that Amber Heard was a vicious psycho for years. The WaPo people didn't know that?

I think they're both crazy. Johnny appears to be more of a manageable crazy than Amber, though.

Maybe, but on his death bed, Depp will look back and think, 'Yep, I had a pretty good run.'

: )

You know, there is no need to include links to stories in the WaPo, because it just pops up a subscription ad.

I didn't watch this and I don't watch pornography for the same reason.

Mmmmmm ... no. Most men learn that fairly easily, although it is true that a guy who would not dream of sticking his erect penis in a rat trap will sometimes stick it where it's going to hurt a lot worse. But guys are always trying to work the margins, and Heard is why they came up with the hot/crazy matrix. Sometimes you have to just stick it in there and get it over with. It's better than wishing you had for the rest of your miserable life.

Aggie said...

They're both crazy, but Johnny is crazy in an addled, spiritually-lost, but harmless kind of way - aside from being self-destructive. But there's nothing self-destructive about Heard. There's too much 'self' to leave any room for that nonsense. She's a predator, and he's the evidence.

As I have mentioned before, Hollywood actors are not the most stable bunch. Being a good actor requires not only pretending being something that you are not, but being convincing in that role. One of the best ways to do that is to have no real personality of your own so you can substitute in whatever. Being a psychopath is also effective. If you are even somewhat normal, you will be competing with these people. While the cast of your local community theater may be relatively normal, when you get to the elite cutthroat level of high paying film and television production there is going to be a lot of crazy, a lot of desperate, and a lot of predators taking advantage of them. And since they are actors they are going to be effective in hiding this to the public to a certain extent. And yet we are supposed to be shocked - SHOCKED - that there are bad people in Hollywood. You mean People Magazine was not being fully honest with me?

Sounds like a textbook case of using a trial to rehabilitate one's reputation following a defamatory publication. Did Samuel Johnson have something to say on the subject?

Heard’s lawyers are brilliant accusers by tone of voice while reciting innocent acts. High priced talent.

It's not what Amber "has". It what her splooge stooges lack that creates the desire ambition.

Johnny's troubles with Amber are making me consider pumping the brakes in my own relationship with Kristen Stewart. Maybe when women say they are lesbian, they may not be wrong about it.

They can play themselves in the Netflix movie. One last big payday.

Now the Post needs to examine whether it was their own rampant racism and lookism that led the paper to try to make Amber Heard a poster child for domestic abuse.

Why are they giving the greenlight to violence against ugly, non-White trans people?
