Looks more like a beaver than an otter. Plus it seems like you can hear it gnawing on a tree once it gets to the shore.

I'm saying otter, even though it's at a distance, because I see the animals of this lakeshore all the time, and from what I've seen close up, these are river otters.

When we visited the Aquarium in Chattanooga many years ago, I bought a little stuffed otter toy for my office totem.

I was the head of special collections in the library, the Cur-otter.
