Lol- so, he left b/c he hates Giuliani? Does he get paid double for that? Weird.

When I see Rudy now all I can think of is the hair dye dripping down his face like the greasy mind control in "The Fifth Element".

I hope he was paid well for that humiliation.

Ken is a wussie. Typical Progressive response. Suppose a Conservative was judge, and stomped off in a tantrum everytime a Progressive Political operative was on stage?? If you want to see what we really have come to....it's THIS....The people in charge have no clue what the fuck they are doing. https://www.cnn.com/2022/04/20/politics/capitol-building-evacuation/index.html

I wish he was done. One trick pony… Johnny One Note.

I will always admire Rudy for how he handled 911 in NYC. Most politicians would have wilted but he was strong.

Also, what's a Ken Jeong?

We need to stop Asian American hate.

Iman said...

“what's a Ken Jeong?”

He’s the guy who had his Johnson surgically removed for one of the “Hangover” movies…

These types of shows are vehicles to get B-list people money.

Wince said...

So, I guess that means Jeong would have stayed had it been Hunter Biden under the mask?

Rockeye said...

Why on earth would he be "done?" This is the show's central theme, correct?

I'm only interested in Giuliani being on the show. The hammy stuff from Jeong is typical reality show host bullshit. I've seen far too much of that to care. The best reality show host hamming of all time came from Trump himself.

I remember NYC before Giuliani when an aura of almost palpable menace hung over the city. I've often enjoyed New York after Giuliani, a paradise by comparison.

I'll forgive Rudy a LOT.

Giuliani used to do musical theater all the time and lived with two gay men in their mansion. He was known to be deeply involved in the mostly gay, middle-aged Gilbert and Sullivan revival scene.

Nobody in NYC cared as they took the subway without fear of being pushed on the tracks by some racist loon.

Those were the days.

Rockeye said...

Ann cuts to the true synopsis here. It looks like the host was mission-accomplished in *garnering* cheap attention. Giuliani really is the interesting part here. Bob Dole didn't do that Pepsi commercial until he really was retired. Maybe the same with Giuliani, and this is an unofficial retirement notice.

Washed up has-been barely-ever-was is disgusted that the show features an aging once important politician? Jeong was funny sometimes on Community, otherwise I never think of him and don't care about whether he is done.

I don't and never got the praises heaped on Giuliani for his allegedly "strong" behavior on 9/11. How would "most politicians...have wilted?" Do you think another Mayor would have collapsed, sobbing, unable to to perform his ceremonial duties of calming the public? Giuliani did what any half-competent Mayor would have been expected to do, nothing more. There was nothing extraordinary about his comportment or statements to the public.

Remember when they tried to make Hillary likable by trying to create comedy sketches around her?

I never watch the unreality reality shows but I have no doubt that your statement is 100+% correct.

I'm flabbergasted. I could understand why Giuliani would want to be on the show if he had a good voice and wanted to show it off, but clearly he does not. I think I have a better singing voice than he demonstrates and small children have looked at me in horror after hearing me sing.

Jason said...

All serious public officials should do more comedy.

I'm sorry, but Giuliani jumped the shark a long time ago. The melting hair, the Four Seasons press conference, the crazy blonde witness he tried to shush, now this. The mighty have fallen.

He was the right man at the right time (9/11). Now it's time to fade away.

I fear in future generations everyone will be required to do some reality show.

Somehow he's had no problem working with Nick Cannon every week. Or Jenny McCarthy, for that matter.

Kacynski is like Taylor Lorenz, a professional doxxer.

Although he has more of a stalker vibe than a groomer vibe. For what that’s worth.

It seems like maybe Rudy ran through all of his cash.

I was under the impression that he was an investor in some successful companies, but after seeing this, maybe not...

No, not even then.

Considering the mayors preceding and succeeding Giuliani - along with the condition of your city before and after - I'd think you'd be willing to give your right arm for half-competent at this point.

Amazing how Ken Jeong is a-ok with Nick Cannon, but not Rudy Guiliani. And didn't he stomp off when Sarah Palin was on there as well? The guy is the walking, talking poster child for leftist intolerance.

Jenny McCarthy may well be loony to some degree, but her deep cleavage is pretty much the reason she's still there. At least the other two had a music career at one point so they are somewhat qualified to judge singing voices.

But it's a sad day when Nicole Scherzinger of "The Pussycat Dolls" is the one host with the least amount of objectionable baggage.

Long before Rudy got confused about the location for his Four Seasons Trump rally, he accepted TFG's assignment to contact Russian supporters in Ukraine who could brand Joe Biden as a crook but the best he could do was concoct an undocumented and unproven story surrounding Hunter Biden's supposed laptop - and to have Mac Isaac, who wouldn't know Rudy even if he could see, unsolicited and at no cost, mind you, contact and give away a supposed disk drive from this computer.

First, we had Hillary's missing server and then a laptop about which to lie - amazing stuff. Almost as amazing as the Russian release of DNC emails when Trump asked for them.

On the other hand, the DOJ now has the records from Rudy's 16 communication devices and the conviction of Rudy's accomplice, Lev Parnas in illegal campaign contributions. And soon, Parnas and Igor Fruman, will answer for assisting Giuliani’s efforts to get Ukrainian officials to lie about the Bidens.

But the story doesn't end there. January 6 found Rudy deeply immersed in the coup attempt even after failing to gin up proof of election fraud. Giuliani tied the President and the Proud Boys, together in the plot. Yes, Rudy’s call to Tommy Tuberville after people had already died, directly linked people in Congress and TFG's regime to the attempts to assassinate Vice President Pence and some Democrats.

I ponder: what's the upside for Giuliani to be on this show? Is it that important for him to be in the spotlight?
Would Schumer be on the show if he were voted out?

De Blasio would have been better.

He would have been rightfully concerned about only the gays, trans, and non-binary Xers killed in the tower attack.

Fuck all those cis-male white capitalist pigs, amirite?

The crime rate in NYC began dropping while Dinkins was still Mayor. So, either Dinkins implemented policies that were effective in reducing the crime rate--policies that may have been continued and added to when Giuliani took office--or the crop in crime rate was a consequence of other factors.

The rates of violent crime in America began dropping in 1990 and continued dropping nationwide for three decades. Given this statistic, it is hard to know if either Dinkins or Giuliani were the authors of the city's dropping crime rate over that time. It may be just that they were in office while a national trend began...and continued after both had left office.

Crime rates nationally have been going up the past few years, though it is still far lower than it had been in the late 20th Century. I think these ups and downs, while possibly influenced by specific policies implemented or rescinded, cannot be simply claimed by any particular politician or administration as a direct result of their actions, and their actions alone.

"De Blasio would have been better."

No, he was an asshole and mediocre mayor, too.

Guessing Anerica's Mayor was inspired to dip his toe into an entertainment career by the example of Ken's midlife change from medicine to stand-up.

I read that another judge also walked out, but he was a singer so maybe it was professional jealousy for him.

Jan. 6 was not a coup nor an insurrection. That much has already been established by all responsible parties. The only people who claim otherwise are clearly using words for dramatic effect and can be ignored.

Rudy is wearing a clown suit which indicates to me he is willing to laugh at himself and acknowledge his foolishness. A good number of people thought that there was an extraordinary amount of fraud in the 2020 election as well as many improbable mathematical anomalies, particularly in certain key areas. Those people were naive enough to believe that if those issues were brought to light something would be done to rectify that and Rudy was a cheerleader for that group. imo this performance is an acknowledgement that he was foolish in doing so. Doesn't mean he was wrong or that we had a clean election, only that leaders in positions of power decided that stability in our system was more important than election integrity.
