We usually agree, but on this one, I'm with Biden. Transexuals are just as human as you and me, if perhaps slightly more fucked up. Thus if you believe that humans were made in the image of God, so were they.

That doesn't mean that God is endorsing transgenderism, or that the president or government should. If you believe these people are mentally ill and emotionally compromised as I do, you should pity them.

That being said, I reject and condemn all attempts to normalize their behavior or consider them women. They are either transvestites (pre surgery) or transwomen (post surgery) but not women. We should not be attempting to reorder society to accommodate the mental illness of a very small number of people.

Absolutely and without doubt. Everyone one of us was made in the image of God. We are NOT God, though. We all fail. In human terms we grade our sins, God does not. We all fail and we are all given unconditional grace, should we accept it. But that does not mean we should thwart God simply because He will forgive us. There are still rights and wrongs you can choose to commit in this world, and if you love God, you should do your best to follow His will. If you are not doing your best to follow His will, you probably don't love Him.

As for Trans, they may truly feel what they do. It may not be something than can control, any more than cancer is controlable. They are still children of God and still deserve our compassion. That does not mean we promote their condition. And we can still condemn those who want to corrupt children in some misguided attempt to make the adults feel validated.
