Great video. Our companions on our walks are wild turkeys. They never seem to be shy but are quite bold.

Jordan Peterson interview at uncommon knowledge is good.

I love deer. Right now their coats mimic the dull tones of the cold Fall &Winter months. Soon, they’ll shed those hollowed out Snow garments and brighten up to blend into Summer. Such a cyclical overture:0)

How can POTUS hide that much money?

He'll get lots of help, no doubt.

We have deer in our backyard from time to time. Between our yard and our neighbors to the rear, there's about 5-10 yards of woods, and frequently a doe and her fawns will shelter there (likely the fawns are born there, but I can't cite any evidence of that). As the fawns get older, they and their mother begin to leave the woods, walking through our yard to the street toward a railroad right of way that seems to be the deer highway. Drives our dogs crazy, but my wife and I love seeing them.

"They're very good at sneaking along and blending in"

If they weren't there would no longer be such thing as deer.

Before my lake home burned down there were four deer...doe and three fawns...all year long on my property just outside my woodshop. They bed down just outside the shop door under some pine trees. You had to look close but they were always there. In the evening they would go down by the lake and play in the water.

I hate Major League Baseball for selling out to promote gambling during every game and all day on the MLBNetwork, while hypocritically keeping Pete Rose out of the Hall of Fame. Also as a deplorable Yankees fan, I shouldn't have to dig up and reactivate a 15 year old iTunes account to watch tonight's Yankees/Royals game on AppleTV+.

We had deer born on our driveway two years in a row, on Larch Mountain in Washington state. Both times, pelting rain. A few days later, they were gone only to reappear to munch on plum trees in our yard. Magnificent.

Mike - we have learned nothing - we only read stories being pumped out by tabloids like the UK Daily Mail, NY Post, and Radar Online. The Daily Mail article was written by someone who seems to have written lots of unproven Hunter Biden tales and the editor-in-chief of Radar was employed by the National Enquirer where he allegedly shredded crucial documents to protect former President Trump ahead of his 2016 election. This $5.2 million income tale dates back to August 2021 and suddenly there was nothing left to write about but stale lies.

I watched Jordan Peterson interviewed at Stanford. He's a smart, highly educated academic, but his field is psychology. Once past Canadian current events and his reasons for retiring from academia, he was not expounding on subjects within his field. It would be fine as after dinner conversation among thoughtful people, but it does not get one very far in a seminar course on classical liberalism. A PhD in that field would be better, even if diversity, equity and inclusion factored into their hiring. So I stopped some way through his rambling on free speech. I jumped to the last couple of minutes. Sounded like he was fairly skewering some rich environmental activist, but then he broke down in near tears and the interview suddenly ended with the interviewer looking embarrassed.

I don't understand how Trump got himself held in contempt. He has been away from his business effectively for 7 years and is past normal retirement age. Every decent business has a records retention policy. Surely he has people responsible for maintaining and finding business records, and if necessary explaining why they were disposed of in the ordinary course of business.

But then I look at the affidavit prepared for his signature and then submitted. It's defective as an affidavit. That's not a reason the judge gave for extending the contempt finding, but if Trump is using lawyers who cannot even draft an affidavit for the things an affidavit is supposed to say to be valid, what hope does he have? Or is it intentionally defective so it's not really an effective oath? But then all the affidavits are drafted the same way.

Elon MUsk "The Democratic Party has been hijacked by extremists."

The extremists are soap opera women voters, is what nobody notices. Not so much extreme as no longer subject to any check on feelings fantasies.

I recently watched a local broadcast for the first time in quite a while. They were promoting "Dinger Tuesday," where you could bet on your player to hit a homer today. I was shocked.

Deer. We have an unusual property. About 6 acres in a suburban development of 1/2 acre lots. We have a small front lawn so most of it is in back. I keep some of the back park like and some natural. Two years ago I was in the natural woody area with our hound and came upon a just born fawn covered with placenta. Mom must have just left to get food. My dog and I were the first things the fawn saw and we must have been imprinted. That whole year the fawn would tentatively follow us on our walks. It was like she looked at our dog as if a sister and did not understand the family breakup. Two years later I can still tell that deer from the others. In a normal group of deer, when we approach the group, there is always one who will take 3-4 steps tentatively towards us before running away with the others. It’s cute but I still hate when they eat my flowers though.

Deer this time of year are great. In MT, we had a doe with fawn(s) every year in the front year for years. My partner would hand feed them. I strictly disapproved, but was outvoted. Not last year though - we had a lot of black bear in the neighborhood instead, between one just weaned sleeping outside her bedroom window, to the ones pushed out by the fire to the north. But by fall, they become a true menace, esp on the roads. We call them pre-venisons.

Have a big blue "D" after their name. The last Democratic president not to cash in and become significantly richer after his election was Jimmy Carter.

Deer are a major nuisance in the Northwest Hills area of Austin, TX. They eat peoples' shrubbery and flowers. They travel in herds of 8-12 and stand in the middle of the road or take over your yard. They have enticed my dog to climb the fence to chase them, and I have to plan my dog walking time and route to avoid them.
