"It's very hard to make art in an occupied city when you don't have canvasses... In city where you can't get canvas, burned tanks best canvas.... "

"All my life before the war was just painting. After the war starts, I keep creating and making some good things [for] the people because people really going crazy in the city because of humanitarian catastrophe."

Said Max Kilderov, quoted in "Ukrainian artist turns abandoned Russian tank into resistance art" (CBC).

The Russian Army seems to REALLY Suck at Conventional Warfare
I'd say, their ONLY chance of winning is with Nuclear devices
Fortunately, We All Know; THAT will Never Happen, because WE Don't Want It To
I mean, THAT'S what decides if the Russians go nuclear? OUR wishes and desires.. Right?
I mean, RIGHT?

I read a comment on the WSJ, where someone "explained" to me, that
a) There was NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT with Russian Nukes, because:
b) A Russian use of Nuclear devices would result in immediate American Massive Retaliation

He left off
c) Which would result in Immediate Russian Massive Retaliation

Personally, *i* think, that IF the Russians used Nukes in the Ukraine, that Jo Biden's response would be to poop himself (more than usual), and abandon the Ukraine.
Apparently MANY people think the Americans would GLADLY commit Global Suicide instead.

This guy is more black pilled than I am on Ukraine He makes some solid points, and one is that the same laser pointer tactics the Democrats use are sort of working for Republicans right now, especially those who watch Hannity, but they are turning off a lot of their voters.

I am not cheering on the Russians here, I am saying that this war is lost and we should not get dragged into it by heart-tugging propaganda. I was tricked by such propaganda into supporting the Iraq War and I know its power, it's not the power to make you think clearly. Saying that we should have stayed out of Iraq is not to cheer on Saddam Hussein. It is going to be all the world can do to deal with the coming famines, but I wouldn't worry too much, the media won't report much on that massive screwup by Biden unless they can find a remotely plausible way to blame it on Trump. WWIII is not a wise choice.

Neither should "we" listen to defeatist propaganda from the usual Putin apologists.

Please explain:
1) Putin instructed his minions to call this a "special military operation" instead of a war? Did you not get the memo?
2) Which metric indicates the special military operation is lost and by whom?
3) Which of Putin's special military operation objectives have been achieved? Have any not been achieved?
4) Which "we" get to decide the conditions which require Ukraine's surrender? Does Ukraine get a vote?
5) Have "we" thought to discuss these surrender conditions with the internationally recognized government of Ukraine? If not, should you travel to Kyiv and explain it to Zelenski?
6) How do you consistently compare and contrast the Russian special military operation in Ukraine with the US special military operation in Iraq while denigrating one but not the other?
7) Which specific acts taken by the US and/or NATO qualify for "dragging us into" this special military operation?
8) Are you embarrassed that you are from a state whose motto is "Live Free or Die?" Should you move to a state with a less neocon motto, or is that just another intellectual rationalization required for you to support Putin?

Seems I misidentified the state motto New Hampshire as being that of Vermont. I humbly apologize for insulting Vermont.

So much certainty in these opinions. Everyone seems to think they know what is best. Have a bit of humility for fucks sake. None of us has a clue about what is really going on in Ukraine. If you are 100% certain about your opinion then you are a deluded moron, or just interested in scoring political points...

Our Regime media coverage of the war sucks. Just like its coverage of Trump, the 2020 election, Hunter biden's laptop, the Steele dossier, crime, and economy all suck.

We get all this fantasy and propaganda. "What is putin uses nukes?" "What if Putin uses chemical weapons?" "will we got to war? Well, will we? Huh? Huh?"
Evidence Russia will use WMD? Zero.

Evidence Ukraine can win? Zero. Ukrainian path to victory? never provided. Hard numbers on Ukrainian/Russian tanks, troops, and losses? Never provided.

Discussion of Minsk Agreements? None. Objective analysis of Putin's demands? None. Discussion of negative impact of Sanctions on USA and Western European populace? Almost none.

And to think, tourists in Prague seek out a single pink tank.

We'll all see if MAD applies, if Putin is or becomes madman enough to cross that threshold.

The Russians may have (who knows for sure?) reached their culminating point in the ground war;
if Putin felt forced into the invasion, what might he feel forced to do now or in the near future?

Please, don't bring your Facebook negativity to this board.
Society rewards and normalizes a ton of dysfunctional behaviors. Stop seeking external validation and start seeking a good relationship with YOURSELF. In a world where we are quick to blame, judge and call out others, be the person who calls out yourself. Within one year, you'll be a different person. Cheers.

Howard has the mentality of a precocious adolescent with anger issues. He is a self described troll and not worth your attention. Attention is what he wants most, and there are plenty here to oblige. In fact, I reckon I just did...

"anger issues" is a polite way to describe the common adolescent lack of self restraint. Perhaps you will understand better when you grow up. From where I'm sitting, it seems that most of the "verklempt shreeks" you claim to be hearing are in your head. Most people here are just sick of your predictable and unpleasant behavior. That's why you have to keep ratcheting up the vitriol. You need the reaction (i.e. attention).

Because libtards love war and Zelensky, oil and wheat prices will go through the roof. Along with meat prices. And poultry.

Not to mention more dead human beings. But when did a libtard ever care about anyone else? Ask our dear dead madaline Albright, who bragged about killing 400,000 Iraquis. Nobody is more callous than a self-rightous liberal/leftist.

Not the whole Ukraine, only the western part. For exact territorial divisions look for history maps.

This whole conflict is basically about redefining arbitrary borders created by Communist rulers in USSR. It’s like the ghost of dead USSR continues to wreak mayhem and murder in the modern world.

The borders of the Ukraine. The 21st C version of the Schleswig-Holstein Question in 1860, about which it was said that only three people in the world understood it. One was dead, one was insane, and the other refused to talk about it.

Ukrainian speakers were spread all over the area in 1919, with the majority being under Russian dominance since the 18th-19th C. Those in the western areas were relatively better off than those in the east (the broad Euro pattern) and some had lived in relatively liberal Habsburgia.

After WW I most of the western Ukes ended up in Poland, not the short-lived independent Ukraine.

In the Russian Imperial armies Ukrainians tended to be overrepresented in the lower ranks, and as late as the 1970s that was still true to some extent (if the studies were to be believed). It was compared to the US Army and Southerners, and for some of the same reasons.

In 1941-1945 one of the fracture points of the Red Army was ethnic distrust, and in particular Ukrainians and Central Asians (read Muslims) were scapegoated for a lot of failures and shortcomings.
