Looks... frozen... Its early February... the dafodils are poking up here. Sp4ing will be here in 3 weeks. Summer is fast approasching. Heat waves and swimming pools.. thats whay we have to llook forward to.
Beautiful shades of blues, grays and purples in those photos. I enjoyed the brilliant reds and oranges of Sedona for my sunrise vista this morning (48 degrees at sunrise).
i honestly feel (a little) sorry for the poor schmuck. If Dr Jill had let him, he could have retired, after a long Senate career as well as 2 terms as Vice President (also, with 10's of millions of dollars collected by his bag boy, Hunter). When people thought of him (if they did), it would have been as a success . . .
Instead; he's going to go down in history, as the saddest excuse for a President...Ever People WILL think of him; with contempt and loathing. And there's nothing he can do about it: 'cause he's a dried out pathetic shell of a man... Sad When
Old trees, old lines, and lots of ice are a bad combo. We survived the first day, but on Friday things started snapping all over our neighborhood, and we lost power about noon.
Restored at 720pm here. It was really cold for the first three nights, but sunny and warmer each day, and with our gas stove we were able to keep some water hot at all times.
No Internet. No cable. Some catching up tonight, a good sleep, and a hot shower in the morning . . . and I shall return to engage, with vigor!
Reading about the Canadian truckers in Ottawa. The last I heard the police had seized the propane tanks and fuel jerry cans which were keeping the truckers warm in their trucks. It's so cold up there that I thought this meanness might work. But it seems that people were ordered to speak politely to police, give up the cans when ordered, and then simply walk in new gas supplies in jerry cans and propane tanks. It became the thing to walk around Ottawa carrying a empty jerry can - no law against that - which diverted police resources into futility. Canadians also walked food in, carried it in by hand. The trash is picked up. The area is not an open air drug market. There are small barbecues going, pick-up hockey. Souls on ice - Canada in revolt is still bundled up, barbecuing and playing pick-up hockey. Which is why they have a good chance of winning.
Big Mike caught omicron. Yes, he is fully vaccinated (J&J) and yes, Big Mike wore a mask when he went out. Omicron laughs at vaccination status, and positively guffaws at surgical-type masks. It’s really about like a bad cold, except I feel very cold all the time. I will sleep in heavy fleece pajamas and a sweatshirt.
The Canadian courts ordered that the seized diesel and gasoline jerry cans be returned to the truckers. Fidelason Trudeau most hurt about that. Maybe he can find a small island above the Artic Circle to retire to. No one below the Artic Circle would want him for a neighbor.

So, that man on the Yale women's swim team. Why do they make him wear a women's swimsuit? It isn't like he's got tits. Shouldn't he be allowed to compete in trunks? And I'm guessing that his "women's" swimsuit has to be made with quite a bit of extra fabric in the crotch, so that his womanhood doesn't come splathering out into the public eye. It does appear he shaves his crotch, but all swimmers shave pretty much everything.
I just heard form my spouse that her wealthy sister's Moroccan PA reported that her straight-A son had been kicked out of school for calling a kid the Forbidden Word.
Turns out, the other kid had stolen his cellphone, made a fake text to the owner's mom saying he was fed up with everyone and was going to kill himself, and then destroyed the phone.
The school did nothing to the perp. "Black privilege", I think it's called.
This is in suburban Philly.
I think the kid's mom should get a lawyer, file a formal complaint with the school and the police, and should seek to have robbery and assault charges brought against the perp.
But she's an immigrant and afraid of doing anything.
Hey Ann thanks for the mention of the Criterion streaming service. Love those restored art house films and old classics. I've watched The Third Man, and Written on the Wind, a 1954 family drama starring Rock Hudson and a still beautiful Lauren Bacall. Absolutely gorgeous cinematography. Access to their 3000+ restored films for $8/month makes it a bargain. I live in Greece and can't get TCM, so this is a good second choice and maybe even better that TCM IMO.
You no sooner said omicron that I popped 2vitamin Ds! I’m sorry ppl are still getting sick. I mean- we’ll always have our go- around, but it sucks. Did Narr miss anything? Hell, I can’t keep up- this House is a happening place!
Thank u for the Brass “band”the ending was perfect. Our instructor in HS was a retired Navy band member &he played baritone. It must have been humbling experience for him to instruct our small band, we did our best. I was… a wind instrument. I still am lol
Ngtrains, I had the same experience occasionally at work with the blog being blocked. Probably something in a comment that the screening software objected to.
They are rebooting Futurama, but half the reason I watch it is for the '90s vibe. It severely dropped downhill after the first restart, after being killed off when it was in its stride, great episode after great episode after a somewhat preachy start.

The school principal should be included as an accessory to the crime for his/her coverup. Also file civil rights violations against the school. Love to see the principal kicked to the curb.

I had nothing to do but sit there, so i pulled out my phone.

I think the second picture goes into a dictionary, to illustrate the concept of “bleak.”

Damned virus didn’t fade away fast enough.

Ha! Much better. I can smile again after yesterday's atrocity.

Whadda YOU think?
Would it be appropriate to refer to the national government as a regency with Ron Klain as the regent?

Somebody is in charge, and it's not Joe Biden, and whoever it is is a real jerk.
You all need you some global warming! It's what Glenn Reynolds would call "a feature, not a bug."
