On thing I found out over Christmas was that Catholic seminaries are filled with young seminarians again. And they are very good. Back in the Sixties the upper ranks of the Catholic Church were filled with nice guys who just couldn't understand or believe in militant lying atheistic infiltration and they allowed the seminaries and the true teachings of Vatican II to be hijacked. But the problem is now well-understood, especially by these young men. It's like seeing the snowdrops come right up through the snow. And in the US now I see the same problem to some extent. There's a lot of highly-placed older people who are simply too nice to understand what the left is doing. They're just like those bishops of the old days in the Catholic Church They're are too nice to understand the CDC or the FBI leadership or Biden's mental capacity or the NYT/Wapo complex or the state of academic freedom in the universities. But there will be, there ARE young people. In fact, even now there are Governors of states who understand. It doesn't seem to be taking as long as it took in the Church for reformers to come up through the snow.
YH: No problem. My e-mail hasn't changed, so I just replied to the last one I got from him (4.5 months ago) and we'll see if that works. Will send one to your address, too, shortly. Let me know here if you don't both get them in the next half an hour or so. DW
The days of no or chilly dawns, and gray skies, that the Prof presents, make me realize what a Southron I am. I never thought of myself as a sun person, but I would miss it farther north.
A truck showed up at our home site with our roof trusses this morning. The driver was just a little confused, as he couldn't find the house, just a foundation hole with the foundation forms installed, but no concrete or walls. The construction supervisor set him straight and the roof trusses are going back to the storage yard until the foundation is poured and the walls are up.
Still no end in sight on the concrete workers strike. We're not the only project feeling the pain.
Black athletes are greeted in China by crowds yelling the N word.
"King" James is quiet as a little cuck bitch. He obviously just let the crowd chant and bent over and took it from his Chinese paymasters.
So are all the Democrats who wish they could have the power the CCP does.
And the owner of the Warriors wants you to know that nobody cares about the concentration camps in China or the uighers being killed and sterilized there and forced to make NBA merch.
Really the NBA could not be a more evil and anti-american organization.
Meanwhile the DEFINITELYNOTANISLAMICTERRORIST was DEFNITELYNOTTARGETTING jews to get miss Al Quaeda out of jail.
I am not hearing a lot about J6 anymore. It is almost as if that little lie is already being flushed as fast as possible.
So Meade was in a truck. My quick search of the blog seems to indicate that this is re a fairly new purchase of an F-150.
I don't know what I think about that.
Odd that the Ridgeline was passed over. The current versions, finally, have knobs to control the audio volume. What else could Meadehouse need?
If yur gonna seriously tow and haul, why stop at a so-called half ton? Of course, I'm a bad judge of this sorta slippery slope, hence my most recent pick-up purchase (and the two before it) was a dual rear wheel diesel. And my biggest truck is a Freightliner (I am probably the least skilled big rig driver in the country that has a Class A CDL. It turns out that most people have that license because having it is required for a vocation, not because they like towing their toys.)
Anywho, maybe they got the hybrid version of the F-150 because it can work as a standby generator for Meadehouse if the power goes out. That makes sense.
Still, for the dough-ish, I think a 997.2 C4 would have been better. Stick a bike rack on the top, and rent a pick-up every month when you need one = living the dream, not trudging IMHO.
Please don't picture Madison as utterly gloomy this time of year. Often, there are clouds at dawn, but they go away. This sunrise was unexciting, but it got sunny a little later, and we went out and had a nice 4-mile hike in the woods (at Blue Mound State Park). It was in the 20s and didn't feel cold to us.
This twitter bit, below, got picked up a little this past week. I found this point noteworthy:
But COVID/WFH has totally broken people. ... There’s constant talk, even now, about how hard things are for everyone. Often meetings start with going around the room to ask “How is everyone feeling?” Literally everyone else went on sad rants about their lives. “I’m so MAD a white supremacist shot 3 black men in Kenosha!”
It’s toxic. When it got to me, I said “Good.” and then a (((lady engineer))) literally proposed that we should not be allowed to answer the question positively. I shit you not. I think it hurt her that I wasn’t as miserable as her.
She made some argument about “vulnerability”. These people not only want you weak, they want you to expose your vulnerabilities to them so they can exploit them. They may not intend this explicitly, but whatever twisted ideology they worship ends with this result.
"Why is it called Blue Mound? First Peoples’ name or what?"
It's not an effigy mound, if that's what you're thinking. We have a lot of those around here, but this is a "mound" in the sense of mountain. Wikipedia:
"West Blue Mound (elev. 1,716 ft (523 m)), the park's namesake, rises approximately 450 feet (140 m) above the Military Ridge. However, when viewed from several miles to the north or south, the apparent local relief becomes more like 600 to 950 feet (180 to 290 m). The mountain, as most of the other large mounds of the Driftless Area, is an outlier of Niagara dolomitic limestone. It is a monadnock, having been created through centuries of erosion, with the harder dolomite being more weather-resistant than the other surrounding rock of the region."
This is a fantastic state park. Lots of cross-country skiing there now, and also plentiful trails that are for hiking and fat-tire mountain biking. I'm going to put up a new post with some pictures from our walk.

So, is everyone happy? Happier than they were since 2009?
Especially if you are of the progressive sort. Things since then have gone progressively progressive. More and more and more to the left. Happier now?
What day will the democraticals demand be made George Floyd Day?
.......
Trick Question! Every day should be George Floyd Day to the democraticals....and many of their GOPe allies.
Hey, Dr. Weevil!
Fr. DC is looking for your new email address to send you a missive & it seems the old one (c**c****@c**c****.org) doesn't work anymore.
Matter of fact, that means, I don't have your email anymore either...
Could you rectify that situation for both of us?
Thx!

Sometimes, the power of faith can get you over the next hurdle. Try it sometime.

Thanks, Donald. Thanks, Twitter. Thanks, Joe.

Omg. Bob Durst killed that woman in California. The balls of this guy.

What if they participated in invading America's capitol thereby disrupting the democratic transition of power?
So I was watching this show and the haunting opening lines of Nature Boy were playing.
Should I go and buy a set of Nat King Cole CDs?
I see no one took up my question.
Seriously, though. It's more than just Jimmy 2.0 malaise, Brandon-style.
The discontent level has been incredibly high for many years. And it's boring to keep bitching about how things suck.
So bleak. We had a few tornadoes come by this way over the weekend, and the sky looked happier than that.
…and in other cruelly neutral news a Wi Judge Bans Drop Boxes, Says Election Officials Broke The Law…
…but not so fast the final authority on all things political rests with a Hawaiian judges and standing laches moot.
Hey Bender, this white boy grew up with Nat, Ella and the whole crew. Get those CDs, play them LOUD. The voices and arrangements soothe.
re: Nat King Cole.
Yes. Dig out the early stuff. King Cole Trio.

it IS nice seeing your daily pix, Professor!
thanx!

Give it a rest. The only people who buy into the insurrection hoax are the people desperate to distract from the Democrats’ failures.

I've always thought it was called Blue Mound because in the haze of summer, from a distance, it has a blue hue.
Those folks were just incels trying to locate and gang rape the incredibly hot AOC.
That's why..
More shots fired at Lady Gaga's dognapping.
Details coming out about "Licorice Pizza." There may be no actual sex, but it does sound like the #MeToo crew would have problems with the film.
(I mean not counting rubber bullets and flash grenades)
Saw the Licorice trailer. Has a clear teen/young adult hetero vibe.
Therefore...you know the thing!
