Here's a place where you can write about whatever you want.

And, once again, it was too cold to go out and do a sunrise run. I don't expect to go out until Wednesday. It's been a big cold snap! I've barely left the house in 2022.

How Weird can the World get? Weirder than you'd think
Penn's Lia Thomas wins two races at tri-meet, loses 100-meter freestyle to transgender Yale swimmer

University of Pennsylvania transgender swimmer Lia Thomas won the 200-meter and 500-meter freestyle and finished in fifth place in the 100-meter freestyle during the school’s tri-meet with Yale and Dartmouth.

Thomas finished about two seconds ahead of her opponents with a time of 1:48.73 in the 200 freestyle.
She faced a real challenge in the 100 freestyle from Yale’s Iszac Henig, who is transitioning from female to male. Henig had a time of 49.57 seconds with Thomas finishing behind him with a time of 52.84 seconds.

Henig has had his breasts removed but wrote in a New York Times column in June he was not taking hormones just yet because he wanted to compete in the pool.

"As a student-athlete, coming out as a trans guy put me in a weird position. I could start hormones to align more with myself, or wait, transition socially and keep competing on a women's swim team. I decided on the latter," Henig wrote.

"I value my contributions to the team and recognize that my boyhood doesn't hinge on whether there's more or less testosterone running through my veins. At least, that's what I'll try to remember when I put on the women's swimsuit for the competition and am reminded of a self I no longer feel attached to."

In 2017, we invested into a couple of nice, large Sony flat screen TVs. I thought for sure that I could find SOMETHING interesting on TV, or Netflix, or.....whatever.

What a terrible investment!! Almost as bad as the pool table that I had to give away after paying $1000 for the thing.

Most of the TV content appears aimed at women, and blacks. I'm also seeing ostensibly homosexuals in much of the advertising.

I'm thinking this must be a good time to be a black model/actor/actress.

A new DSM Category: Post-Traumatic Slave Disorder!

Daily Mail 8 January 2022

A group of Resident Assistants at Western Carolina University have revealed to be receiving mandatory racial and gender sensitivity training courses

Snippets:

"...During the training courses, the RAs were shown a series of slides that told them to avoid using certain phrases while working at the North Carolina school and were shown a 'gender unicorn' to highlight transgender identities.

In one example, they were told to stop referring to America as a 'melting pot' because it emphasized the idea that people should assimilate to the country's 'dominant' culture"

"...The school also hold segregated RA 'support spaces' - one of which is designated for black, indigenous or people of color, while another is referred to as a 'general' support space."

"...As part of the racial discussion in the presentation, one of the black presenters talked about her fear of stopping her car in northern Georgia because of her race.

That led to the topic of post-traumatic slave disorder which ties in the concepts of a racial group's past experience with slavery and its relationship to their modern-day oppression."

"...Students who work at RAs at the school have since slammed the training courses, with one saying that the gender sensitivity course went against their personal beliefs."

"...In April, the RA's were previously told to avoid using 'Christmas' and 'Easter' in conversation with residents as not everyone celebrated those holidays."

HOWEVER. She has decided, that she is a man; and MUST BE REFERRED TO as such.
But, she wants to finish out her swim career on the (girls)team, so no pills
HOWEVER! she WAS allowed to have her boobs cut off

Your heating bill is a reflection of current energy prices that are (spoiler alert) up considerably. Those high energy prices benefit anyone who sells energy (Russia and Iran for instance) to anyone else (Europe and China). So while the money you pay for energy this winter isn't going to Putin, the policies that raised them (pipeline closings and fracking bans for instance) certainly helps him.

TheDopeFromHope said...

effinayright said:

**********

Silly boy (probably an Obama/Clinton/Biden voter). See what Chris Lopes said at 5:38 AM.

Also what Walter Russell Mead said a while ago:

So is it fair to ask if Biden is on the payroll of Putin?

If Trump were the Manchurian candidate that people keep wanting to believe that he is, here are some of the things he’d be doing:
Limiting fracking as much as he possibly could
Blocking oil and gas pipelines
Opening negotiations for major nuclear arms reductions
Cutting U.S. military spending
Trying to tamp down tensions with Russia’s ally Iran.

You know who did do these things? Obama. You know who supports these things now? Democrats, including Clinton and Biden.

Jaq said...

"Your heating bill is a reflection of current energy prices... blah.. blah..."

Remember, during impeachment, when Fiona Hill testified that she didn't like Trump?

Former National Security Council official and Russia expert Fiona Hill on Thursday testified that she heard Russian President Vladimir Putin at a 2011 conference describe American fracking as a "great threat" to Russia, a position he has emphasized ever since.

But it's Trump who does Biden's bidding by whole heartedly supporting fracking.

“We were up against Russia pushing oligarchs and others to buy media,” the document shows her saying. “We were even up against phony environmental groups, and I’m a big environmentalist, but these were funded by the Russians to stand against any effort, oh that pipeline, that fracking, that whatever will be a problem for you, and a lot of the money supporting that message was coming from Russia.”. - Hillary Clinton, via Wikileaks

But sure, Putin wanted Trump because Trump was foursquare behind Keystone!

Remember that you are dealing with people so deranged by their hatred of Trump and Republicans that they are unable to process logic.

My point was not to curate every thread, just pick on topic that is curated so we stay on topic with specific formats to see if we can have something akin to a debate. No clutter, to off-topics, to constant rehash, no invectives, no unsupported claims. Just one thread a week. Seriously, that is no restriction on speech unless you think courtrooms are restrictions on speech because not anyone can just come in and start making claims and say whatever they want. A structured format is not, ipso facto, (Hope I got that right) a curtailment of free speech.
