I miss the fall colors. I live at the start of the Pine Barrens in New Jersey...Not much color going on here. Growing up in Ct, Fall was my favorite Season.

the reds are outstanding.

We seem to be having a later-than-normal color peak here in southern Wisconsin. The reds seem to be particularly vivid this year.

What's going on over at Broad and Wall Streets? You have to wonder what would happen if someone were to come along and accidentally poke a sharp object into that big balloon -- not even meaning to.

Beautiful.

I wished Nebraska was playing Wisconsin this weekend. I'd drive up just for the Fall colors.

Thank you for these beautiful pics, always love the sunrise pics and times-- the last two pics today are exquisite and uplifting.

I really like that bottom pic! Something about how it obscures the sense of depth. So easy on the eye while pulling you in. The last few weeks feels like you've made some sort of shift to a new way of seeing/taking pics and they're even more interesting. I think you said earlier it was a new camera, but it's not just the camera!

Thanks, Lyle. I’ve had this iPhone since last spring. I’m just always adapting to what nature is providing.

Pretty. We walked to the polls in fall weather here in central VA. Not great lakes - midwest November brisk, but mid-40s chilly. The beagles love crashing through the fall leaves.

The questions for the day came from Tim Miller writing in The Bulwark.

"Do these [rural Virginia MAGA] voters really think that when the 2024 election needs to be stolen that Willard Glenn Youngkin is the man they want with the pen? No way! But [sadly] this type of messaging was absent from the campaign."

"Are you telling me that Democrats couldn’t come up with any plan that would have depressed support for the co-CEO of a private equity company? Glenn Youngkin is straight out of out-of-touch-elite central casting."

Great. The Atlanta Braves won the World Series.

Yesterday (Tuesday) was a terrific day to be out picture-taking along Lake Erie. Deep blue skies and 40-50 percent coverage with big white puffy clouds. It was a terrific day to be out even without picture-taking.

"Hey! Teachers, leave our kids alone!" - VA

To me, if the Democrats do come out and claw back VA through legal challenges, throwing out signature validation, and other dubious ballot shenanigans, it will only motivate Republicans more.

The New Jersey Senate majority leader lost his seat to a truck driver who spent less that $200 on his campaign. Where were the Republicans in New Jersey?

Democrats are claiming it's because they didn't Democrat hard enough. I am claiming that the Democrats have become the party of the rich, and there are fewer rich, even if they have all the money. Well, we have all the money, but I was born poor, and my sympathies are still with the people I grew up with. I have no need to leave them behind out of some kind of shame or need for social status. I was a Democrat in the '70s, and my sympathies for the working man have not changed.

On a day like today, I miss Rush Limbaugh. What a party his show would be.

I am thinking that vaccine mandates had a lot to do with this. McAuliff thought that his pro abortion stand would bring people out, he was sort of right, the thought "Our bodies, our selves!" brought people out.

Now I spit coffee all over my keyboard. You do know who Terry McCauliff is, and how he got so rich, right?

LOL

The Bulwark!

Referencing The Bulwark is self-disqualifying.

But only every single time.

Tim, our hopelessly ill-informed gadfly has no idea that the reason the democraticals were unable to go Full Attack Mode on Youngkin for being the CEO of The Carlyle Group is because McAuliffe had invested in The Carlyle Group!
