This is something I have always wondered. Why do old cowboy movie bar fights look like so much fun?

Based the performance of Prosecutor Thomas Binger in the Rittenhouse trial I was all set to snark at the University of Wisconsin Law School, but it turns out he got his JD from Michigan. So Althouse and her former colleagues are off the hook for the bad job he's doing. I guess in Michigan he was not taught that it's bad to do a hostile reexamination of your own witness, and also not taught never to ask a question to which you do not already know the answer.

Specifically, Binger was challenging his own witness regarding the events that led to the killing of Rosenbaum. As Binger badgered (Hey! It's Wisconsin!) his witness, Richard McGinnis, suggesting that he couldn't possibly know what was on Rosenbaum's mind, McGinnis replied that "He [Rosenbaum] said F**k you and lunged towards the gun."

I think it's all over.

Sometimes I think I can see the Great Dane Brewery and Camp Randall when I squint off to the distant right in these sunrise shots.

I've recently seen Facebook ads on TV where some bland, normal looking person - Facebook's "Privacy Manager" talks about her job where she gets to "talk to people about their privacy".

Who the @#$% thinks they get to tell ME what MY privacy is???

Because they're choreographed to a fare-the-well, and because the glass bottles that break over people's heads are made of spun candy and the furniture that breaks over heads is made of balsa. Real bar fights are no fun at all.

Not that I'd know, since of course a nice guy like me would never, ever be in a for-real bar fight.

Headline: "No NFL doctor told Aaron Rodgers vaccinated people can't catch or spread Covid, league says"

Ergo... never mind.

I remember back in the '80's when the marketing people thought TURBO should be mixed into every advertising slogan.

Guitar Center just sent me a catalog. Yes, a snail-mail....bound.....paper catalog!!

They are promoting a TransAcoustic Dreadnought Yamaha guitar.

TransAcoustic??? I'm trying to reconcile TransAcoustic.

I'm pretty sure I'm trans-acoustic when I turn off the amp.

My late younger brother and I got the giggles one Saturday afternoon watching Jimmy Stewart and his brood punch, deck, clobber, tackle, throw and generally visit movie mayhem on one another in a barn fight in . . . Shenandoah? One of you film experts will know, and probably correct me on several points.

No matter, it was meant to be comic, I think--just not that way.

I will not deny that some mood enhacing substance might have been involved in our delight at the pretend.

TransAcoustic Dreadnought Yamaha guitar.
*reverb/chorus built into the guitar with no need for external amplification or effects
*Built-in volume control for when plugging into an amp

so, its an acoustic guitar; that's DESIGNED to be played through an amp
(they Should have called in PanAcoustic.... Or, maybe genFlexAcoustic)

i'll stick with my 1982 Gibson SG Custom (with the ebony fretboard) and my Fender Twin Reverb)
I've worked HARD, getting my neighbors used to it... Wouldn't want to let them down

Remember when the pandemic was just starting and Democrats were taking up all of Trump's time with a bullshit impeachment based on the idea that he was colluding with Russia in Ukraine, and it turned out it was all a lie from Hillary because "if she was gonna be investigated for stuff she actually did, she would open an investigation on Trump, whether he did anything or not!"

Remember when the laptop showed us Biden was up to his neck in corruption all over the world, but asking about Biden corruption was an impeachable offense? Remember when the New York Times lied to us and told us it was "Russian Disinformation". when the biggest disinformation purveyors of the past five years have been the Democrats?

Would the Democrats be better off today if they had let the investigation into Biden continue, and allow somebody not saddled with all of this filth get the nomination?

We all know the answer to that. Notice I say "Democrats" and not "country" because the Democrats only care about the country as a source of graft, as a thing to control.

Dreadnought? Did it have turrets with 12-in guns? First in a new revolutionary class of guitars?

Mike (MJB Wolf) said...

Gilbar my 1984 SG (with Grover machine heads) is my favorite axe. Made in America baby!

Mikeof Snoqualmie has a point, but it might be just as well to wait for the Aircraft Carrier class guitar.

The colors are on their last legs but brilliant as ever with these clear days. The sun dipping deeper south, it's the golden hour all afternoon.

Women do shoes, and purses.

Men do guns, and guitars.

The tough part for both sexes.......How many do I NEED????

How many guitars does a guitar player need? Just one more.

I only have 7 but looking at a Taylor 814CE. My go to is a '79 Carvin CM130BE.

I played the same guitar for 40 years. Once I was watching a movie and there was a guy playing a guitar, and I perked up. "He's playing my guitar!" and sure enough, he was playing the same model guitar. It was like hearing your wife's voice. I kind of felt like that you could really learn to get a sweet sound out of a guitar if you played the same one long enough. But that movie guitar player seemed to have figured it out, probably the same time he picked it up. It was like finding out your girlfriend was cheating with a guy better at sex than you were.
