"Protesters upset over the acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse marched in Kenosha on Sunday — in the presence of a Second Amendment-supporting father-daughter duo armed with AR-15s they said were to protect the demonstrators."

The NY Post reports, with lots of photos of Erick Jordan, 50, and his 16-year-old daughter Jade.

Jordan said he’d been training Jade to use firearms since she was 4 but only let her touch a weapon once she was 14. He said they were protecting a restaurant and two parking lots in the area on the night Rittenhouse shot three people, including two fatally, amid protests over police conduct.

As for the Rittenhouse verdict, Mr. Jordan said: "It is what it is. The jury did their job, and this is America."

ADDED: Did Erick and Jade Jordan smoke out any hypocrites?

I remember watching a video clip of a demonstration in a relatively rural area of one of the Northwest states. This was back before COVID-19 lockdowns, IIRC. The route that the demonstrators took was lined by residents lining holding ARs or shotguns, some of the shotguns with tactical barrels (18” to 20” long). One of the female demonstrators called out “We’re peaceful!” in an aggrieved tone.

“We’re why you’re peaceful,” a woman shouted back.

Rittenhouse has claimed he fired in self-defense, although, “I probably wouldn’t have fired my weapon,” Jade said.

Well then he probably would have been dead had he found himself in the same circumstances. He wouldn't have fired his weapon when a gun was pointed at him, and there were gunshots...?

Not to mention that after an exhaustive study of the evidence in minute detail, he was found by the unanimous verdict of a jury of his peers that he, in fact, *did* fire his weapon in self defense. So the 'claimed' language is just more lying from the media. But then, the size of the crowd demonstrates that the claimed indignation at the verdict was not that great, and that coming in on the side of the violent rioters has been a losing strategy for Democrats.

A 17-year-old goes to a riot and shoots some people in self-defense. He is ultimately acquitted, but only after a year of fear and misery. In response, this man gives his 15-year-old daughter a gun and brings her to a place where he expects a riot.

Not exactly father of the year material.

I think a lot of people who get their "news" from the hack-D press are under the impression that Rittenhouse killed black people.

NO.

Kyle was pursued by leftwing antifa thugs - All WHITE. ALL with criminal records.

"He said they were protecting a restaurant and two parking lots in the area on the night..." the sun went down and the white left criminal-record antifa nazi showed up to burn minority businesses.

There's a left wing political split in progress between: (1) the truly delusional and mentally ill, (2) those who wish for a truth that isn't there and now are in severe mental anguish, and (3) those with clear thoughts and principles.

Group #1 will either literally kill off or eject #2 and #3 from a purity party, or the others will somehow get #1 under control.

The mentally ill can never be stable, even as functional stability is the priority of the others.

In Iraq, ordinary Iraqis worked all day, then took turns sitting up on the roofs of their homes all night, with their AK's across their knees, to protect their families from political and criminal violence.

The primary responsibility of government is to protect the people. When the government fails to protect people, the people have no choice but to protect themselves.

The governments in many US cities and states not only failed to protect the people, government actors deliberately organized attacks upon them.

Look how quickly and easily the "liberals" abandoned their stated ideals and turned to political violence as an answer to not getting their way at the ballot box. They have normalized political violence in America in just a few short years. That's where we are now.
How will we put that genie back in the bottle?

Will outside observers say about Americans, as we did about Iraqis, that until Americans love their children more than they hate one another, only a ruthless dictator will be able to govern there?

I wonder if the demonstrators understand who they are marching for?

Wait, what? You don't mean to tell me that he was helping out doing the job that the State of Wisconsin and the City of Kenosha refused to do because they figured that all of the destruction of small, largely minority owned and underinsured businesses would redound to their political benefit? Inconceivable.

Fox News contributors Jonah Goldberg and Stephen Hayes have resigned following the release of Tucker Carlson's documentary on the January 6 Capitol insurrection, "Patriot Purge," citing concerns about the documentary's potential to incite violence

Always accuse the other side of what you are doing, eh Jonah? I suppose resigning is not nearly the lift that proving Carlson wrong would be.

I don't think the NY Post has gotten to the heart of this story.

Who can forget the US Winter Olympic athlete who, when asked which female winter Olympians were the sexiest, replied, "The biathlon competitors. It is an endurance sport so they are all in great shape, and there are guns involved."

I watched Tucker's "Patriot Purge" on FoxNation. I thought it was underwhelming.

Stephen Hayes and Jonah Goldberg, having taken themselves out of the game, are crying for attention. Boo-hoo.

Trump isn't for all tastes, and the Jan. 6 rally was a bone-headed move, but he did a lot of great stuff while he was president. Hayes and Goldberg and other never-Trumpers never give him credit for that, and it exposes their fundamental phoniness. Biden is an unmitigated disaster, and Harris will be worse. We would be so much better off right now if Trump were president...

Why did so many pro-Trump capitol police commit suicide?
Was it because the FBI was poised to ruin their lives?

I note that the rifles carried by the armed duo have plastic "EMPTY CHAMBER" flags inserted into the ejection ports in some pictures, and don't in other pictures. A polite way of carrying firearms to and from one's vehicle to an event where the firearm may be loaded adn used. And their trigger discipline (Booger hooks off the bang switch) is excellent in all video and photos. The rifles appear from the markings on the lowers to be Smith & Wesson M&P AR-15s. Nice rifles. All in all an example of legal firearms carried by law-abiding people who appear to be thoughtful and careful in their exercise of their 2nd Amendment Rights.

Somehow I suspect I'd have more in common with these two than with the rest of the protesters, who after all were protesting acts of legal self defense with a firearm by Rittenhouse. Odd, that the protesters accepted their presence and the implication that deadly force and firearms can be used legally and legitimately for THEIR defence.

Little old Kyle and armed 16 year old girls are all thats needed to help defend against your beloved psychopathic pedophiles, child sodomizers, sexual assaulters, women beaters etc.

You'd better get to work Howard. That Rosenbaum statue isnt going to build itself you know.

Exit question: for your "Rosenbaum the pedophile hero" statue, will you be adding little naked kid statues around it as well?

Word of warning, doing so could make Dementia Joe want to shower with them.

Awkward!

Wow, "Howard", was someone new assigned to cover "your" account?

1: There is no legal, moral, or ethical requirement that I let some scum bag left wing domestic terrorist harm me. If one does threaten to cause GBI, I'm going to kill him or her, and sleep happily that night.

because I have an absolute right to self defense, and while you have a free speech right to say whatever stupid things you want, I have an absolute right to ignore you

2: "shoot unarmed people every day". Really, Howard? Care to back that up? You might want to start here: https://www.motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2020/06/raw-data-police-shootings-of-unarmed-men/

Note, the total there is less than 100 / year. Please remind us: how many days are there in a year?

Ann,

I notice that none of the commenters have touched on something that you point out, if indirectly.

The first sentence of your post reads The NY Post reports, with lots of photos of Erick Jordan, 50, and his 16-year-old daughter Jade.

After reading your post a few times, and skimming the comments, I decided to click on the link to the article.

My suspicions were confirmed: Erick Jordan and his daughter are both black.

Which shows something that I've been aware of for a long time, but with seems to be missed by many: gun rights are color-blind.

This isn't exactly true. The jury unanimously found that the prosecution failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Kyle didn't shoot in self-defense. The jury didn't affirmatively find that he DID act in self-defense.

Isn't that what our presumption of innocence implies, though? We presume he fired in self defense unless the prosecution proves, beyond a reasonable doubt, that he did not.

Therefore, according to Wisconsin law and US tradition, he fired in self defense. Period.

Some of the earliest gun control laws were I acted to keep firearms out of the hands of darker hued citizens. Apparently, Southern whites feared the arming of a group of people they'd spent 200 years treating like shit. Gun control has always been about keeping guns out of the hands of people who the government (the slave owners had the full force of law behind them) has pissed off.
