Just found out (via Twitter) that today is 'National Coming Out Day.'

The left is at work yet again, co-opting Columbus Day for the second time (Indigenous Peoples' Day).

They never stop, and they ruin everything.

On that note, it turns out that Superman is now gay (really).

Given his super strength, I hope to hell his partner is a power bottom : )

Oh, So That’s What Happened to Trump’s Lawsuit in Pennsylvania

"...An excerpt from [Molly Hemingway's new book] "Rigged: How the Media, Big Tech, and the Democrats Seized Our Elections" sheds light on what went wrong with President Trump's legal challenge to [the 2020] election results in Pennsylvania...Hemingway shares the details — obtained exclusively by Townhall — of how the case unraveled from one where Trump's team had the facts on their side and a judge who was open to hearing arguments to one that quickly received a blistering dismissal."

'According to Hemingway, progress being made by Trump's lawyers went south after Rudy Giuliani was tapped to spearhead the president's legal efforts following the Trump team's failures in Arizona. As Hemingway writes, "putting Giuliani in charge would prove disastrous to the legal efforts in Pennsylvania and beyond."

Hemingway recalls the announcement: "'I look forward to Mayor Giuliani spearheading the legal effort to defend OUR RIGHT to FREE and FAIR ELECTIONS! Rudy Giuliani, Joseph diGenova, Victoria Toensing, Sidney Powell, and Jenna Ellis, a truly great team, added to our other wonderful lawyers and representatives!' Trump said in a tweet."'

'...Before Giuliani was put in charge, lawyers for Trump in Pennsylvania were pursuing a federal lawsuit over the way ballots were handled differently by election officials in different jurisdictions citing a Fourteenth Amendment violation. "It was the same argument that had merit in Bush v. Gore, the federal case that determined who would be the forty-third president of the United States," Hemingway notes.'

'...While Hemingway's account provides new details about how things unraveled so quickly within an otherwise strong case for consistency and integrity for election results in a key battleground state, we all know how things turned out. "The judge quickly approved the defendant's motion to dismiss in a blistering opinion saying Giuliani had presented the court with 'strained legal arguments without merit and speculative accusations.'"

Trump SHOULD HAVE KNOWN that Giuliani definitely was (and continues to be) well past his sell-by-date.

Don’t the cranes understand that it is neither necessary nor appropriate for them to use the turtle crossing?

OT – Wild card Red Sox just beat the 100-game-win) Tampa. Advance to AL playoff. Prior to this the Red Sox won a one-game playoff with the NYT to decide which of those two would be the wild card.

This is a post I made on LinkedIn just now, respecting the business aspect of their platform:

There are lessons to be learned this week about the value of customers and the value of employees.

Exhibit A) Parents ask questions about a product that they purchase with taxes from the ED, and the DOJ and FBI are on the verge of declaring them domestic terrorists. Many parents are now exercising other options. Take care of your customers, you need them.

Exhibit B) Southwest employees crippled air travel for three days with an apparent message to management regarding a corporate policy for terms of employment which violates HIPAA and was implemented based on a press release. Imagine the chaos if doctors, nurses, truck drivers, firefighters, power plant operators, police, etc. similarly sent a message. Take care of your employees, you need them.

London Times Oct 12

A retired accountant stabbed her fourth husband to death because she “just had enough” and told a 999 call handler: “I thought I would get his heart, well he hasn’t got one.”

Penelope Jackson, 66, is accused of murdering David, 78, a former senior army officer, at their bungalow in February with an 8in knife.

They had sat down for a meal with friends over Zoom, but then had an argument. A court was told that David had previously said that his wife was a control freak.

Friends described him as a “kind and generous man”, but said that his wife “could be quite harsh” and “quite unsympathetic”.

After the stabbing Penelope told police that her husband was an “aggressive bully and nasty”.

In a 999 call played to Bristol crown court she calmly refused to help her husband as operators repeatedly asked if she would help to stem the bleeding or tell him an ambulance was on its way.

David bled to death at their home in Berrow, on the Somerset coast, after dialling 999 and telling the operator: “My wife has stabbed me.”

As he spoke he let out an agonising scream and Penelope took over the call and told the operator: “I have done it again.”

David could be heard in the background saying: “She has stabbed me again”.

When paramedics arrived and started doing CPR, she said: “Oh, I should have stabbed him a bit more.”

“Bill and Roger waited in vain for over an hour before giving up and going to Bob Evans for breakfast instead. There would be no Turtle Surprise this morning.”

@StephenFearby, the police don’t need Hercule Poirot to figure that one out, do they?

FYI, Sandhill Cranes eat turtle eggs, among other things, so they are probably hanging around the turtle crossing looking for places where a turtle may have laid its eggs.

From an article about Kamala Harris's recent cringe-worthy video with child actors:

"Last week, YouTube Originals announced Get Curious with Vice President Harris, a series that aims to get more children interested in space. The project was produced by Sinking Ship Entertainment, an Emmy award-winning media company based in Toronto that specializes in live-action programming, according to its website."

Sounds appropriate.

Clyde @ 5:57: “…Sinking Ship Entertainment…”. You beat me to it. I was also impressed by the choice of child actors who giggle and gush so convincingly in the video. Five kids who represent the national demographic: three female, two male. Four brown, one white. Equity!

Actually, I dread, now but more importantly, what's going to happen, not to me, but to my child. Not just the narrowing of freedom - that would be easy - but the lack of freedom itself. Oh you can reassure me that will never happen here but I don't believe you. You see I know history and your constitutions and parliaments mean nothing. You'll will not protect me nor my son.

Lewis বলেছেন...

Do you know why the immediate cause of the present spike in gas prises? The chinks wanted to prove they were following their stupid promises so they ordered there coal power to cut back - - it was just temporary, you understand, just window dressing - but you can't do that with a complex society. So what happens. Blackouts, backlog, a chug in the whole chain. Recession is a production problem, not a money problem.

A Chance Of Blue I

What will happen will happen: The crowd
Of millions that, perhaps, have their own
Destiny: Accident jostled an understanding
That 'did not exist'. To look, completely,
In your eyes and smile. Something
O so innocent: to forget fear.

We both see, we hope, the same chance of blue.
The sky above just the destiny that destroys.
To wander beyond what is possible:
Men hope it will follow. Wanting
What our cowardice has denied us.

Lewis বলেছেন...

That is stupid. It's partly be cause I'm going blind. So I can't see what I write. Why am I going blind? As all our grandmothers said I am wanking!! Which is interestingness because I don't. When that comes around I just cook.

Awaiting An Answer.

.1.

Tempered, awkward key
Of that pianos sound
Disturbs sunlit dust,
This corpse's epidermis.
And on afternoons,
It seemed long and desperate,
Searches for that glimpse of woman
Heard in sounds of Joan
Or other musty romances.

Perhaps merely the hair
Reminded of the dust
Of those old school days
Or a pure line expressed
In the profile, catching
A last evaporate fantasy;
Maybe some dim sympathy,
Merely the union of interest
In one trajected plain,
Slim yet a basis for partnership.

.II.

If I’d found a place
It was, as always, momentary,
Caught in a second’s glance of sun:
Blue, common bell chimed its noiseless scent
More irritant to plans, more conducive
To the forgotten, forgetful days of school.

But those other ones: rather a feeling
Than tissue of incident where one hung
At the most appropriate place
As for a meal. Separate, I’d tempt
A natural force to come swing my way.

Decisions Of A Life.

She headed to the door
Of some burnt out world
Lost to the dried flare
Of Apocalypse. With words
Telling of that special place
Her mind halved its voices
Where one would call “Where?”
To the others reassurance of
“One foot more, one age less.”

And held by the endless tide
Of works companions
Some sense of proportion was lost.

At home a dear friend
Had uttered the martyred cliché of
“Be yourself!” A thousand victims -
Were there more?

.II.

Down the battle broken world
Where the shadows left around:
Corpses, corpses flew
To glare their unholy cries.

.III.

And among the luggage of travel
A niche was found:
Here a shadow shared a bottle
With a friend or two,
Words scattered among the unintended,
Formed their partial puzzles.

.V.

One friendly companion,
Whose ever forming grin disturbed,
Pronounced, heartily,
Some ending term,
Some clause of binding.

Sealed by the wax of finality
She considered her attention weak:
It had stopped at the cover,
Started at the completion of smiles,
Had broken at the ribboned bow.

Twisted in a distracting knot
These decisions had been made.
