How to make a big sensation out of not being transgender.

Step 1: Be Shiloh Jolie-Pitt.

If progressives have anything to do with it, she already would have had the operation as soon as she identified herself as John when she was three. This is a PRIME example of letting kids be kids until they are old enough to make decisions for themselves when they are adults. PERIOD!!

A dress is safer than drugs and alcohol. Kudos to the Jolie Pitt’s.

Kids are confused by their sexuality. Actually, kids are confused about most things. The parents need to decide whether to humor them as they go through such phases or lay down their law.

In my generation it was all about long hair. My parents did not humor me and I resented it at the time. As I look back, I laugh about the silliness of it all.

Oh god. That poor kid.

Kevin म्हणाले...

Oh look it was a phase. Imagine that.

Imagine that

She is finally old enough to think for herself a little bit. Guess what? She likes boys and looking pretty.

Four of the Jolies in that group photo share a cadaverous pallor.

I'll bet the woman who is the mother who gave birth to Shiloh (ooo man - I am so getting cancelled with that statement) does her best to keep her children away from the crazy people who would love to wreck Shiloh's hormones.

this is a great example of why letting children be children without running to the hormone and gender re-assignment crazies(D) - is a good idea.

Gerda Sprinchorn म्हणाले...

It is called desistance. It is common among children, especially girls.

I will add that Brad Pitt said that about Shiloh when she was two. My son thought he was Curious George around the same age and communicated in monkey sounds for awhile. It wasn't a big deal to me.

It seems as though Angelina and Brad treated Shiloh's behavior much the same way. Why can't this be common practice?

I really liked the picture that showed Shiloh's legs. Those are the legs of a normal, active teenager.

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

People should be careful about overreacting to this — displaying too much joy at seeing Shiloh display femininity.

Don't judge a book by its cover.

People are always projecting what they want onto everything. It is a drive almost as hardwired into us as reproducing.

This girl is famous because of her parents. It is hard to know if she even wants that kind of attention.

If she does cool. My guess is she doesn't want to be a proxy target in the war that Trantifa is mercilessly inflicting on everyone.

They should be allowed to mutilate their bodies and stfu about it. If a man gets his penis cut off he can pretend to be a woman after that. I don't know what a woman can have done but most people aren't really concerned about women in men's bathrooms.

But we all know the people that are supporting and publicizing Trantifa are just using that as another weapon to divide us and tear our social fabric apart.

People should be careful? Why on earth?

If someone wants to show joy at her femininity, so be it. It should be a good thing. Certainly plenty would show joy at her “androgyny” or “trans-masculinity” or whatever gender of the day they think we need to recognize.

You do you, leave the rest of us alone…

Chuck - freedom of speech is something YOUR side, the authoritarian speech-crime/ thought-crime left - cannot handle.

Howard म्हणाले...

She's only famous because of her parents and she's only famous because of her parents because she is white because the non-white adopted Brangelena kids don't get any attention. Just like missing persons if you're black who cares if you're white and blonde especially you get the whole world looking for you and your shitbag husband who killed you.

This dovetails nicely with the Chappelle post vis a vis George Floyd and the oppressed lily white transition communes.

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

You should be careful what you say to children. Give them space to come into their own sense of themselves. The message I love you when you're girly is bad, and it's not going to get you want you want. News flash: Teenagers are not designed to give you what you want.

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

Another thing is that you should express joy that a girl is a tomboy. It can be part of being healthy and active. I'd like to see a little girl in jeans and a t-shirt, getting out and doing things. It shouldn't mean she's unhappy with her own body. It can be very body positive. Whether she later decides to wear a dress to the prom or not, it can be good. You shouldn't be letting her know you'd prefer her to be shopping for fussy clothes and primping in front of a mirror for hours. Nor should you be acting like being a tomboy means there's a gender transition in her future. That's what you seem to be saying if you're over-anxious for her to dress up in feminine clothes.

Achilles म्हणाले...

I find it really interesting how people turn ~30 and they completely forget what it was like to be a teenager.

I have forgotten most of the specifics.

But I remember how it felt.

At least N. Sandman got paid though. I bet that event was worth it depending on how the family reacts to a pile of money appearing.

Chuck: "I’d like to see someone associated with this blog explain Rep. Jim Banks’ Tweet that just got him suspended from Twitter."

Well, lots of people who read this blog would like to see you pull your head out of your ass, but they're not going to see that either. Since you seem to be the only one interested in what Banks has to say, whoever he is, why don't you contact him and ask yourself instead of annoying others with your petty BS.

What's emanating from your penumbra म्हणाले...

This is just as tiresome as any other time people make a big public display about someone's latest new choice of gender identification. Who cares. You'll be dead in a few years and nobody will remember you a few years after that. Certainly nobody will remember your fifth gender change.

Hey, I have decided to adopt a new hobby. Stop the presses!

wendybar म्हणाले...

I'm not over-anxious for her to dress up in feminine clothes..HELL, I don't wear them myself, but I think she should be allowed to be a kid and wear what she wants without her parents rushing her to a doctor to change her sex before she is mature enough to deal with the consequences afterwards. I believe people who let CHILDREN make those decision are not putting the Children first. Like when I was young...I wanted a tattoo. My Mom told me when I turn 18 I can do what I want. By the time I turned 18, I didn't want one anymore. I grew up.

My girls are doing "Ninja Training." I have a small "gym" for them in the garage.

I don't push them to do more. I always make them ask me for exercises. Then after they are done tell them how good they are at whatever exercise they did and how awesome it is they did it.

Emphasis on self affective perception. Good at tasks. Need to get stronger overall.

I use them to make guides on how to scale exercises for beginners. Half the time they are wearing dresses when they work out.

The only sport I am actively discouraging is basketball.

I don’t know…could have fooled me. I thought Shiloh was a boy all along. Now, it turns out that he/she is really a girl. I guess I have to pay more attention to the gender-self-identify of celebrities’ children. I think Angelina likes all this screwed up sexual fluidity because she strikes me as a very screwed up person and, also, this is free publicity for her new movie. I think children should not be in the spotlight until they turn 18 and they can then make the decision if they want to be on the red carpet with parents. Schlepping kids to Venice to walk the red carpet and then have the children’s private life dissected by the press is not good parenting, IMHO.

Oh, I wholeheartedly agree.

Should we look for similar posts when people showed too much joy at Shiloh and others rejecting their femininity?

Because that joy is equally destructive.

Hey Chuck. Jim Banks was correct in his tweet. If, many, many years from now, somebody was to dig up Rachel Levines body, they would identify HER as a HE because of
SCIENCE...you know DNA. She may want to dress like a woman, and get her parts cut off...but Science says she is a he. The Chinese and Russia are laughing their asses off at us, while people like you try to make us feel guilty for speaking the truth. How is the truth HATEFUL???

fun fact, Shiloh Church was reached through Pittsburgh Landing, In fact the Battle of Pittsburgh Landing was the name used in the North.

So, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt should/could more accurately be spelled
Pittsburgh Landing Jolie-Pitt
or
Shiloh Jolie-Shiloh
or, my favorite
Shiloh Jolie-Pittsburgh Landing

Serious Question, for The Parents...

Can't We ALL Agree that IF your child seems At All confused about gender roles, at Any Time;

That THE SENSIBLE THING TO DO
Is surgically remove their primary and secondary sex organs?
and pump them full of Chemical Castration medicine? Which will Sterilize them ?

I mean, Why Take the Chance, that this confusion Might resolve itself; when, thanks to modern medicine; you can make their confusion Permanent??

Kevin म्हणाले...

Expressing joy that a girl is a tomboy is not the same as expressing joy that they have been surgically mutilated to permanently remove their sexual traits on a whim. And that's where this girl was headed. So yeah, I'm expressing joy that one body at least did not go into the left's sacred abattoir

Althouse brings up a good point. My brother had shoulder length hair in highschool with the sides shaved so it could be a mohawk. My mom nagged about cutting it initially. That had the opposite effect. Eventually, she stopped talking about it and my brother got a haircut. Even after the haircut she was very diplomatic about the whole thing though I know she was thrilled on the inside.

Shiloh's middle name is Nouvel. It seems that her parents think Shiloh is Hebrew for Messiah. So a more complete translation of her name could be

Howard, I find it a little funny you lament the lack of media interest in missing black people only to immediately mention of George Floyd. I don't remember months going on years of media coverage and many a fiery riot for Tony Timpa. Where's the Amy Schumer special dedicated to Gabby Petito?

Thank you! I grew up as a "tomboy." Then eventually "discovered" boys. But even now, as a senior citizen, I'm more comfortable in jeans and t-shirt. And I hate bras.

That was the message of 70s feminism: that you could be a tomboy and still be a girl, that you could like trucks and sports and still be a woman. I sensed an ambiguity there -- could you like trucks and sports and not be a lesbian? -- but that wasn't discussed at the time. Nowadays, there's a lot of pressure for girls who like trucks or sports or other girls to declare themselves to be boys. Gender, which was supposed to be irrelevant, comes back with a vengeance.

I always thought the "Jolly Pit" would be great name for a lesbian bar -- or a gay male bar, come to think of it.
