I understand from Sleepy Joe's speech that his Afghanistan withdrawal was "an extraordinary success", but any problems were Trumps' fault.
I am wondering what people think about Joe's extraordinary empathy as demonstrated by repeatedly looking at his watch as the Marine caskets were delivered. He apparently had more important things to attend to, such as his evening nap.
I fervently hope real audits are done of the 2020 election ballots. More important than making visible the fraud and corruption but for the restoration of the assumption that the average American voter isn't completely brain dead stupid and a gimme dat.
It's a good day to think about the natural world around us; right now the political world doesn't offer a lot of joy. But it was also a good day to order a couple of things through our host's Amazon portal.
The West, well, the rest of the world, has been at war with islam since the 7th century. Our role in Afghanistan before the disastrous withdrawal is but a small part of it. Once in a while the USA has a role in the front lines of the war. The Barbary Wars were our first foray against islam, to stop their brazen piracy of our merchant ships.
It is pretty well documented that islam, established anywhere, when it gets to a big enough percentage of the population to start wielding power, starts wielding it to establish the full range of sharia.
There are a few ways the war of islam against the world ends. One is- they win, we surrender. That won't happen in my lifetime. Then- they'll start fighting each other to establish the true islam.
Another is- the rest of the world gets together and commits genocide on grand scale, killing every imam, caliph, ayatollah, muezzin, and any other identified islamic leader, razes Mecca, Isfahan, Medina, all other cities of importance in islam, and plows into the ground every mosque, religious school, and cultural center of islam, and establishes the death penalty for anyone who is found to practice or preach islam.
Or, the least likely way, islam could undergo a massive reformation, and compete equally for believers, without threatening death for non-believers. If you think that's likely, you're living in a dream world or alternate reality.
islam pushes out when it's strong, retreats when it's weak. That's been it's history since starting up. As long as they stay confined to the current boundaries of sharialand, the rest of the world, today, ignores them. Except for buying raw materials from them- like oil. Sharialand doesn't actually produce any manufactured goods. Legal ones, anyway. Afghanistan is known for it's poppy fields and heroin. Afghanistan my soon become another rare earth source- by virtue of Chinese mining. Raw materials.

Apparently, our evacuation was a brilliant success, one of the all time great events in military history.

This disaster is all Trump's fault. We were forced to follow his plan.

My wife and I drove through Madison today, and stopped at the university's bookstore for some Bucky Badger merchandise. I don't know why but my wife loves the stuff even though neither of us have any connection to the school other than going through Madison on a couple of vacations.

Facts don't matter. Evidence does not matter. Audits, ballots, and counts don't matter.

And nothing would happen.

I agree with your three possibilities, and that any discussion is academic as there will be no significant movement in our lifetimes, but I consider this the most likely scenario, not the least. As with the usual path for viruses, the natural tendency is to become more transmissible but less deadly. It’s what happened with Christianity and I see no reason to think it won’t happen with Islam. (Many millions of muslims living in non-muslim societies are happy with how things are and have no more wish to live in a theocracy than you or I do.)
Islam may need a reformation. In fact, it may already be in one (as you note—they are fighting over “true Islam”). For all the chaos they inflict on us, they inflict far more on their own. As with Christianity, eventually enough people will get tired of the violence that they will stop using so much of it.
