Oh Yea said...: AP is reporting that Schumer is saying the feds need to crack down on fake COVID-19 vaccination cards being sold online. This seems to be driven in a large part by college students that are buying fake card because colleges are requiring proof of vaccination to attend in-person classes. Seems that fake ID's are being sent from China.

I find these reports deeply disturbing. In my day, when we needed fake ID's we would make our own using simple tools like copiers, X-Acto knives and whiteout. Even with printers/scanners, photoshop and blank CDC vaccination pdf files on the internet, the current generation has to import fake IDs from China instead of making their own.; 8/15/21, 3:10 PM
Big Mike said...: @Oh Yes, (1) it’s a mark of the witlessness of the government medical establishment that they did not provide vaccination cards that are difficult to counterfeit. (2) I have read a study online — can’t vouch for its veracity — that resistance to vaccination roughly correlates with educational attainment, i.e., the most resistant group as far as getting vaccinated is concerned are people with doctorates. So perhaps the college students are merely emulating their faculty? (3) I thought things were supposed to lighten up when we got to 70% vaccinated. Did we not reach that goal a couple weeks ago? This administration’s penchant for moving goal posts does not inspire confidence, nor does ignoring milestones that they formerly touted.; 8/15/21, 3:10 PM
