Boy George's newest tweet about the Meghan-and-Oprah interview.

I'll just quote his previous tweets on the subject, oldest to newest:

1. "I found the big @oprah interview to be hugely dull. Is there more? I pray not!"

2. "The one person not mentioned in any of this Harry & Meghan saga is the little boy Archie. If they had left the royals without creating a shit storm (it could have been done easily) he would still be an important future member of our royal family. I hope he still can and will be. I feel neither family deserves applause."

3. "You'd think they would have in house therapists at Buckingham Palace and if they don't, now is the time."

4. Responding to someone who said Harry needed to protect his family from the pararazzi: "You are talking to someone who knows more about the press than you could imagine? Harry, has slagged this country for years, long before Meghan. Fighting the press, then embracing the press because it tells you what you want to hear? It's a mugs game!"

"in-house therapists"

She is enormously wealthy. It's hard to find therapists who are covered by benefits and HR access.

Such a weird complaint for her, as if she is entirely unable or unwilling to spend any of her own money on her own mental health. Which makes it sound even more like even outside of the Royals she has found success through blaming others. Which is, if I'm not mistaken, a trait of narcissistic personality disorder. Nothing is her fault, even not addressing her mental health. For those who lack a sense of self, though, those kinds of personalities can be really enthralling. But at the same time, the whole royalty thing is a mess.

It's like watching a bunch of hoarders complaining about each other's messes.

Boy George has pretty much always been fun. This item prompted me to dig up the Cast Recording of his autobiographical musical Taboo (apparently available free on the Internet Archive). It was great fun when I saw it in a small "club-like" venue in London, apparently it was less fun in a big barn of a theater on Broadway.

She is trying to reproduce the Princess Di narrative. I saw a tweet that highlighted all of the times her dresses matched what Diana wore. She also claims the royals turned on her because she was so popular in Australia. Just like Diana. She claims she was suicidal during her first pregnancy. Just like Diana. She was denied help. Just like Diana.
Trouble is, she married into the family when she was divorced and approaching middle aged and not as an innocent 19 year old, so there is much less innate sympathy for her plight. Also, she didn’t marry the heir to the throne, so her popularity is not up there with Diana. I read that she is now less popular than Camilla in the UK. Doesn’t she know they don’t like Americans?

I don't believe a single word that escaped from her mouth. My (normally very sensible) wife and I have had sharp differences about Meg's miasma. Both of us are experienced entertainment attorneys, and I don't see how it's possible that she doesn't see the long-planned fraud unfold right before our eyes.

Markle wasn't some English countryside innocent sweetie bedazzled by crown jewels. She was a professional celebrity figure surrounded for many years by expensive lawyers, public relations teams on monthly retainer, agents, and managers. She knew precisely what royal live was like. We know what royal life is like. We've watched it for years play out including, without limitation, Harry's mother.

Markle went into this thinking that she was special and that she could beat the system. I suspect that she thought she could bully Kate into some sort of co-queen thing much like Margaret wanted. It's very clear that she didn't get her way, and all of this is payback.

My wife is all weepy about what poor Meggie has gone through at the hands of the BitchQueen and her handlers at the Firm, the poor dear.

Meghan wants people to have empathy for her, yet the Queen is dealing with her husband who is 99 years old spending now almost three weeks in the hospital. He had a heart procedure. Meghan and Harry let it be implied he was a racist and only after backlash did Meghan and Harry decide to give him and the Queen a pass. Imagine the lack of empathy that takes on the part of Meghan and Harry.

Nope. That's what the fear most. Charles has gone on record that he intends to "slim down" the Royal Family and put more emphasis on the direct line of succession. They're worried that Archie won't get an HRH even after he gets on the throne.

Monarchy has no justification at all, except that democratic countries that have one generally are more stable. There's a billion confounding effects, but the plain fact is pretty evident. This is exactly my observation as well. I have grown to respect Kate quite a lot over the years, and would not be surprised if she is the one who, in her own way, best carries on the Queen's legacy.

I was initially positive about Harry's marriage, assuming Meghan would understand what she'd married into and could adapt. But now we see that that she was either incredibly naive or willfully refused to understand. (Or was just arrogant.) I think Harry has contracted at least equally to the problem, though, and has handled the situation incredibly poorly. He reminds me rather a lot of his father. And of course every woman should be able to recognise that the easiest possible way to get Harry to do what you want is to play up the "I'm so afraid of ending up like your Mom did" angle.
