"I started talking to my belly this year. Blowing her kisses and showering her with praises."

"I used to want to cut my stomach off I hated it so much. But it’s literally ME."

Sometimes, the belly talks back:

It used to be that those with impulses like this either kept them to themselves or had a limited sphere of sharing. Now thanks to social media and the death of inhibition, any lunatic can broadcast his lunacy to the world and expect - nay, demand - it be celebrated.

Women tend to be very focused on their bodies, probably from having periods and their symptoms to remind them constantly.

Jerry made the right decision. Joviality is a state of mind that shouldn't be influenced by women, and women gravitate towards it regardless.

Joviality, by jove, has gravitas.

Wince ayon kay ...

Bizarro Jerry would say, "Good-byyyyyyye!"

Althouse, how do you find these clips that seem so "on target?"

Dust Bunny Queen ayon kay ...

Holy Crap. People have gone bonkers. Life must be just too easy now if this navel gazing type of lunacy is considered normal or admirable.

I'm afraid what we need and are going to get are some real hard challenges to just living and surviving that will be a wake up call...or more likely a culling. Some people are going to be very very surprised.

Temujin ayon kay ...

Thankfully, the Seinfeld clip made me forget what the actual purpose of the post was, and I don't want to go back and read it. I'm smiling now. Why wreck it?

Ann Althouse ayon kay ...

"Althouse, how do you find these clips that seem so "on target?""

By using things that are already in my head. And being very old, yet not so old that I can't remember anymore.

Women focus on their bodies because it's a huge part of the package required to land a man. We are visually stimulus orientated creatures they require to build their nest.

rehajm ayon kay ...

I seem to recall Jerry talking about how he believed this was one of his funnier bits and being confused about why it did not catch on with his audience with similar intensity.

I remember being confused about if the booming Hellooo!!! voice was an imitation of borborygmi or was the vocalization of the gyrations of the navel resembling a mouth.

It's still not funny....

this one works better

Maybe I'm the only one, but frankly I'm afraid to even open up that link.

Mary Beth ayon kay ...

She says it's literally her, but she refers to it in the third person?

50 shades of the HIV/AIDS disease. Systemic disparities, mostly by choice, thus the virus and sympathetic antigens find safe sanctuary to not only persist, but progress in compromised populations. Embrace your fat, your gluttony, too. Don't strive, kneel. Bow, if you must.

Good Lord! Do NOT click on the NYPost link. Some things cannot be unseen.

You’ve been warned.

Thanks a lot Professor. If ever something called for a “trigger warning”...

She’s a big fat girl. Some things cannot be unseen. Is this what he meant when Sir Mix A Lot rapped about ‘baby got back’? Maybe baby got lard?

LOL! I hadn't scrolled all the way down to see the Seinfeld clip, but I was thinking about it as I read the post title. I was also thinking that she should have a giant rubber ball of oil dropped on her.

Another video I can't access for some reason. These days every time a blog refers me to a video clip, and I click on the link, I get an error message telling me I can't access the video. Fortunately in this case I've seen the SEINFELD "Helllooo" bit for often I'm not actually missing anything.

I know that someday in the future I will begin to put on stubborn weight that will resist removal. It is a fact of life. I work ridiculously hard to keep it off but in the end the battle can't be won.

Hopefully, I can remain jovial with a BMI of 16%. My plan with my pudge is to draw eyes above and a mouth around my belly button, horny as fuck, sporting a Dennis Leary style erection and entering the bedroom from the hallway boasting HEEEEEELLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I think I know how she did on the marshmallow test as a kid.

Some day her poor, overtaxed legs may succumb to diabetes, but she'll always have the comfort of that belly she loves so much.

If even the "conservative" NY Post is praising this stupid bs, I guess our society is over.

For a second I thought Lizzo was pregnant. Nope, still just fat.

Skippy Tisdale ayon kay ...

From "Lizzo talks to her stomach in empowering self-care video"

Hey Lizzo, now do your ass.

(Full disclosure: I'm a big Lizzo fan.)

Time to thin the herd.

Thank you for the great illustration of the simple interpretation and understanding of Phillipians 3:19. Good to know there is still nothing new under the sun.

Lizzo does remind one of the Canaanite cultic temple prostitutes, doesn't she? Temple of Molech, maybe. That would be most fitting.

At a time when the 2nd most common comorbidity for COVID death is obesity, is this what we should be "empowering"

Iman ayon kay ...

Don't strive, kneel. Bow, if you must.

Bow... if you can!

n.n ayon kay ...

"Fat and beautiful" is a co-morbidity. So is a diet rich in carbohydrates. Strive, don't kneel for the lowest common divisor.

n.n ayon kay ...

Bow... if you can!

Bow to your partner. Kneel when proposing. Otherwise, stand and strive.

Jarby ayon kay ...

She isn't talking to her stomach, and she wasn't pondering whether to cut her stomach out. She is talking to the unnaturally-sized layer of fat smothering her stomach, which should not be there. Getting rid of that fat would be doing her stomach a favor.

n.n ayon kay ...

She is talking to the unnaturally-sized layer of fat smothering her stomach, which should not be there.

Yes, even for girls, who are naturally disposed to a soft and smooth physique. Both boys and girls are eligible to consume a diet and engage in activity that will normalize a healthy body and mind, and, related, discourage safe sanctuary for viruses and other antigens. Win, win, win.

Every carb is harmful, except beer.
