She had also angered some progressives during the recent confirmation hearting for justice Amy Coney Barrett, for the way she seen to be too deferential and excessively friendly with Republicans, who were pushing through Donald Trump’s nominee in controversial circumstances.

Feinstein is a moderate by the standards of the Democratic Party, particularly in California; her replacement will almost certainly be well to her left.
See how clownish Feinstein looks because of the disconnect between her hair color and the rest of her face? Her hair coloring is so obviously fake it suggests her lacking any sense of reality.
Comity used to be a well regarded thing in the U.S. Senate. Not so much any more, unless you are a Republican selling out to a Democrat-favored compromise.
She could be the Harvey Weinstein trigger for cleaning out the old guard Dems--Pelosi, Hoyer, and Biden to come.

In 18 I voted for the GOP candidate and can't even remember his name, but seemed to me she was past it. Sad because she was my first CA vote in 92 when she first ran.
I think we will be using the line "You knew about this, but you lied" to a lot of people over the next few years.

No one seemed to mind much when it became clear that this senior Senator had a Chinese spy as her driver and close staff member for 20 years.

Aaah, the classic should I have 'a priori' or should I have 'post ante', argument. They win either way. Spare me the tortured angst.
When Strom Thurmond died, the lawyers in my old firm's legislative practice wished that the death had been kept a secret. Thurmond had an excellent staff that made the decisions about how he would vote in 90% of cases -- and knew how he'd vote in the other 10%. If they'd just kept the death quiet, our lawyers could have kept working with that staff -- maybe even up to today!
That makes the Feinstein situation a lot easier to understand.

I don't know about that, but you can guarantee that if he voted, Dahmer voted D in 2020. You might see a felon GOP vote slip in, or maybe the odd dead voter for the GOP, but not a dead felon.

Have you seen how much California is beginning to look like Venezuela?? Maybe that's why people are pointing, laughing and getting the hell out of there before it falls into the sea.
