"Disappointed Democrats headed Wednesday toward renewing their control of the House... with a potentially shrunken majority as they lost at least seven incumbents without ousting a single Republican lawmaker."

"By Wednesday afternoon, Democrats’ only gains were two North Carolina seats vacated by GOP incumbents after a court-ordered remapping made the districts more Democratic.... 'They were all wrong,' House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., told reporters about Democrats’ assumptions of adding to their House numbers. Repeating a campaign theme Republicans used repeatedly against Democrats, he said, 'The rejection that we saw last night from the Democrats, was that America does not want to be a socialist nation... The Republican coalition is bigger, more diverse and more energetic than ever before'....  Democrats lost a majority Hispanic district in West Texas they expected to win after the GOP incumbent retired. And they lost a series of what seemed coin-flip races, failing to defeat GOP incumbents in Cincinnati, rural Illinois, central Virginia and the suburbs of St. Louis and several districts in Texas.... Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and the three other members of the so-called squad of young progressive women of color were easily reelected."

Moderate Democrats lost, so the new majority is not only smaller, but more intensely left-wing. I expect to hear more of the argument that Democrats lose when they skew moderate. Biden, if he ekes out a win, will be attacked from the left. Why didn't he accomplish a big win? Where was the landslide we were promised? Must be that he was too bland, too weak, too barely there. Trump will be gone. There will be no more monster to fight — just a relic of the old Democratic Party, which dragged him over the finish line to edge out that terrible President who had to go and almost didn't.

Time to crane neck leftwards, sitting at center court, to see Dems field incoming. And of course hope that Biden’s EOs land in the SCOTUS as often as the orange mans. Time also for SDS - Sleepy Derangement Syndrome

I've ordered a case of popcorn. Netflix sucks. This will become my entertainment.

Trump did so much to rip apart the old political establishment in both parties. He did so much in many ways that, unfortunately will not get finished (if he's truly done now). And even if this thing is finally done, and Biden wins, do you think Trump will just go play golf? Heh.

So much fun coming up.

They only did so well the Senate at all because statewide races are vulnerable to big city fraud. It’s way harder to fraud your way into control of the House. And the party of white supremacists is? The Democrats, of course. They are the ones who believe that black people are lazy and shiftless and don’t want jobs, but prefer handouts, which is. why they are stunned that a POTUS who managed to deliver them higher wages by cutting off cheap illicit scab competition from across the border, would be popular. It’s the same strategy any union would use to raise wages BTW. If you consider the border a picket line, and those crossing it willing to work for lower wages than American Citizens, it’s easy to see why I call them scabs. And that’s just one aspect of why Trump is popular with non-whites and whites who work low skill and medium skill jobs for a living.

I think that the drop in white male support for Trump, which is what the exit polls seem to show, if you can trust them at all, shows how. effective the tactic of calling people racists is. Repeat the lie often enough, and people will begin to believe it. Trump is no racist, and he’s not anti-gay either.

Candidates who win with record numbers of votes always have negative coattails like Biden, right?

No, it’s more evidence of fraud. You could almost say it was infinitely improbable. Maybe the Heart of Gold ship passed by here.

The Infinite Improbability Drive was a wonderful new method of crossing interstellar distances in a mere nothingth of a second, without "tedious mucking about in hyperspace."
It was discovered by lucky chance and then developed into a governable form of propulsion by the Galactic Government's research centre on Damogran. As soon as the drive reaches infinite Improbability, it passes through every conceivable point in every conceivable universe simultaneously. An incredible range of highly improbable things can happen due to these effects.

It was installed on the Starship Heart of Gold, and both the ship and the drive were unveiled by then-President of the Galaxy Zaphod Beeblebrox.

Even when the Democrats do the work of serving people, it’s always about power.

It’s never them going the job they’re paid to perform.

It’s always, “OK I helped you. Now you owe me.”

Is anyone talking about how impeachment might have hurt moderate Democrats?

I know I would have voted for my Dem Congresswoman if not for that. She eeked out a win, though, I think.

I think Wretchard is right, if Biden wins, it’s a poisoned chalice. That laptop is not going to go way without total victory by the Democrats to allow them to bury it, and it’s in the public domain now, so even that is not going to bury it, and Twats like Striesand warnings are not going to keep it hidden. That laptop contains the key to destroying the Clinton Machine that has been running the Democrat Party for decades. Remember the 1996 election where Clinton collected donations from the ChiComs? Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

The Press still has its talking points. Walking this morning I was listening to the hourly news report from some national news reader. He read the script that will be read twice an hour, every hour today until something new comes up. That is, that the Dems were a little disappointed that the Republicans managed to not be hurt by the Blue Wave.

Let's be clear about this: THERE IS NO BLUE WAVE. NEVER WAS. Drop the talking point.

Also: Republicans gained seats in the House and SHOULD HAVE picked up a Senate seat in Michigan. John James was jobbed out of his election. The entirety of the Michigan Democrat Party is corrupt. That state needs a bright light shone on it starting with that corrupt out of control power freak Governor of theirs.

Even in a loss, or close election, Trump had coattails. Biden has nothing. Harris has nothing. If not for corrupt cities: Milwaukee, Detroit, Philadelphia, this election would not have been close. I'm getting more pissed just thinking about all of this.

I like your optimism. They stole this one. There aren't going to be any more free and fair elections. It's over Mr. Franklin. We couldn't keep it. We failed you.

I saw that in Michigan they uncovered 7 votes for Biden from people who would all be over 120 years of age. I suspect this is the tip of the Ice Berg. But they corrupt, evil, leftwing national media says voter fraud is a "myth."

"more intensely left-wing"

Yes. The Dems are becoming what they used to project on the GOP, i.e., an ideological party more than a coalition of interest groups.

But the interest groups are not going away and not all are on board with the agenda, which presents opportunities to the GOP. First glimmers in the election returns: Hispanics may prefer a mix of welfare and dynamic economy and, gasp, America first.

The Dems lost this election bigly. The polls grossly misunderestimated Trump's appeal, in a blatant attempt at voter suppression, aided by the news media's anti-Trump fictional narratives for the past 4 years. But still the Dems lost House seats and are forced to steal the Presidency, if they can.

AlGore tried to steal one state in 2000 and was shown by the NYTimes years later to have done so purposefully, with ill intent, after he actually lost the election. It took 37 days and the Supreme Court slapping down a corrupt Florida Supreme Court to stop the theft attempt.

This time the Dems are stealing the Presidency across multiple states. It may take decades to demonstrate this, or it may blow up in their faces. One can hope for the latter.

he was so bland, so weak, so barely there; that no one noticed that he represented National Socialism . . . All people could see, was Donald Trump.

Serious Questions
If the election had actually BEEN Trump vs. Harris can anyone doubt the outcome?
If the election had actually BEEN Trump vs. Sanders can anyone doubt the outcome?

mikee said...

Does this mean the popularity of the Dems is waning? No, no,no, not at all. I just think it means their appeal is becoming more selective.

These are the death throes of a once great political party, destroyed by corruption within the leadership for decades, and marxist infiltration taking advantage of that corruption. Hope their death struggles don't take down the country.

We knew they were going to cheat. We knew they would use the illegal flood of ballots to do it in D controlled states like MI WI and PA. All the media gaslighting did not stop 200,000+ dead from voting in MI and Milwaukee from recording more votes than voters. The legal fights will be epic. Shame on the Supreme Court for that hideous preelection ruling that PA was acting in violation of PA law but they just didn’t have time to come to a decision before the election. This year would have been a good one to scrupulously adhere to election laws!

If and when the massive, staggering Democrat voter fraud is detected and reversed, I think it is very likely the House will flip as well. And frankly I now think the only reason Nancy is Speaker is because of massive fraud in 2018.

I want the penalty for voter fraud to be enhanced to the death penalty. In our system of government, it is tantamount to treason.

John James was jobbed out of his election.

Don't expect Althouse to care. She thinks James was uppity for running as a Republican.

Republicans were in the process of flipping three Congressional seats in Virginia, and way ahead in all three races, then a bunch of votes were "found" and they only flipped one. Maybe they flipped one.

Another thing that has become clear is that Minnesota would be a red state if it weren’t for fraud in Minneapolis. As James O’Keefe demonstrated with his “ride along” with a Democrat vote fraudster.

Also absent COVID, Trump would have won in a Reaganesqe cheat proof landslide.

I am sure that people will come on here and assure us that these 7 were probably all of them. I keep thinking of that “Infinite improbability drive” from Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” must have passed this way for so many statistically impossible things to happen. Next a Boltzmann Brain will appear spontaneously and declare itself our God.

Whatever happened to "count every vote and every vote counts"? Not one state has certified its count, not one state is finished. And yet suddenly we are talking as if the counting were over. The networks refused to call states where Trump was winning on the night of Nov. 3/4. They said: "count every vote and every vote counts". They said Trump couldn't call the election on his own. Trump had to wait till "count every vote and every vote counts" was through. Well, the counting is still going on. But now the networks are "calling" Wisconsin and other states. In Wisconsin Milwaukee precincts are claiming in hundreds of cases that 80, 90 100 or even 200% of their registered voters voted. This is not possible as a widespread phenomenon because these unpurged voter rolls hold voters who have moved or died and who thus are ineligible to vote in that precinct. But the networks are accepting this count and "calling" Wisconsin for Biden. These crooked 90% precincts in Milwaukee are thus overruling the whole rest of Wisconsin and disenfranchising the entire state. Moreover, minority voters in Milwaukee who may have wanted to protest the burning and looting going on their areas by voting against the Dem leadership enabling the attacks on their neighborhoods, have also been disenfranchised by the 90% precincts. Oddly these 90 % precincts might be their own precincts but the real people are lost in the swarm of absentee phantoms of the ballot who came in at 3am Nov. 4 and voted for more burning and looting. It's not right. There must be a recount and there must be an explanation for the 90% precincts and their war on the voting rights of the whole rest of Wisconsin and even their own residents.

Moderate Democrats have won because their moderation was acceptable to a red-leaning district. When the party moved left, those districts became very concerned with the "brand" and veered right. Democrats in safely left-leaning strongholds, dependent upon Democrat-largesse, didn't suffer. On the other hand, if the quality of that largesse becomes strained by reality, those Dems face a mob that likely won't settle for voting someone else, so more authoritarian control will be needed.

Isn't it interesting that since election day, there have been two protests in Minneapolis - including one on a highway - where the police moved in swiftly to arrest the protesters rather than standing by benignly per previous policy.

The more noise the lefty House members make the more certain that the House will go R in 2022. The US is a center right country except for obvious places. If Biden wins he will have a very difficult time fulfilling the wish list of the most vociferous and offensive House members. Even if Biden wins AZ, thus enough votes to be declared the winner the WI vote is so problematic that a recount could actually overturn the current result. I don't really think that is going to happen. I think we are going to spend the next couple of years watching Joe visibly deteriorate. During that time we will surely be tested by any number of unfriendly regimes which will probably accelerate the desire of the Dems to remove him. We will then have a very unpopular VP running most likely against Mike Pence.

I don't think Trump will run again, but I tend to agree with Ann that he will remain a force in US politics; much more so than any past president. It won't be pretty , but given my perception of the amount of election fraud this go-around it will be well deserved revenge upon the Dems.
