Isn't this begging the question, assuming what is still to be proven? Is the broad, general, typical, normal, political view of the American population actually left-of-center?

Is it true that a broad majority wants to pack the Supreme Court; ignore the 2nd amendment; provide government-funded 3rd trimester abortions; allow unlimited immigration; impose "carbon" taxes on proven energy technologies and provide "green" subsidies to experimental energy technologies; pay "reparations" to citizens based on skin-color; federally fund and control public schools with more new programs like No Child Left Behind and Common Core (because those were both such GREAT success stories); grant "most favored nation" trade status to China, Iran, and other international rivals; support China against Hong Kong and Russia against the Ukraine; allow Google, Twitter and Facebook to keep on doing whatever the hell they want; require hair-braiders, fingernail painters, and eyebrow pluckers to obtain government permissions slips and certifications to provide their services; drive Lyft and Uber into compliance with taxi-medallion regulations; fund "high speed rail" lines from one influential suburb to another 1000 miles away; impose race/sex/"gender" quotas on college enrollment processes; make small businesses provide 3 bath rooms each (M/F/(lgbtqtia)); dump MORE money into a postal service that can't reliably deliver social security checks let alone election ballots; and make fun of people who worry that just maybe some influential politicians are being blackmailed for sexual improprieties, including some involving children.
