They're not rejecting a Savior President.
They just couldn't find one this year.
Biden's campaign enters the ICU phase.
Heroic measures and 'round-the-clock care must be provided.
Joe at this point is a figurehead. He's obviously not capable of doing this job or pretty much any job in his current physical and mental state, and when he had full control of his faculties he was a fine example of a mediocre man, at best.
It's interesting to watch the Democratic Party take on more and more supervillain tropes. This year's primary sounds more like something Lex Luthor would do than a serious effort. Sadly they are serious.
Keep him confortable.

They always do this. It's pretty much a standard fundraising ploy. The world will end if you do not send us $25, $35, $50, or more. For some reason I ended up on a Democrat Party mailing list and it's the same things but with different reasons and names. It's fundraising by Mad Libs.

If ever there was a candidate where politicians and bureaucrats can breathe a sigh of relief and feel confident the status quo won't be threatened, it's Biden. The guy hasn't pushed an internally trans-formative initiative in 50 years - unless it meant giving more power to existing people and institutions.

It's weekend at Bernie's..err..Biden's.
Instead of Biden, they could nominate Generic Democrat, who did so well in the polls against Trump.
Maybe Robert Mueller can be his Attorney General.
Of course Mueller is a Republican, but I hear he's very receptive to subordinates' ideas.
If a prosecutor can indict a ham sandwich, a rugby scrum of Democrats can push someone no brighter than a can of Spam across the goal line. Or so they hope.

Biden will be discarded shortly after election, and a new, more malleable face will be installed as the next President (it'll have to be a woman of color, possibly a trans, body disabled person).

And stevew, a party cannot control who files and runs under its banner. If a candidate wants to pay the filing fee in every state the party can't stop him.
And they won’t know him when he flops. You have to break some eggs to make an...uh..a mess on the floor.
If Ds envision Biden as "Governor Lepetomane," it would be nice to know ahead of time who they plan to for their "Hedley Lamarr."
