Time: 7:23. Actual sunrise time was at 7:21. No visible sunrise today, and the snow was verging into rain. At 33°, it was too hot for the jacket I had on, the jacket that worked a few days ago when it was 8°. You really do have to add 15 or 20° to the temperature to decide what to wear if you're going to run, even if, like me, you only run in an casual, unambitious way.

Nice snow at last! After spending the last 5 winters in warmer climes I'm loving spending one here in snow country. Snowshoeing and sledding today. Backcountry skiing tomorrow. Even shoveling snow from the driveway is fun. For now anyway :) Have a great day.

I find my old Dell 24" monitor, which I've been using probably 15 years, has an input at the bottom for HDMI, which the new Windows 10 (useless operating system but displays modern video, which XP does not) offers. It works. Throw the switch and see either my trusty XP laptop or the new Windows 10 laptop. There's a cable plugging flurry necessary for keyboard and mouse but otherwise I'm good now. The desk is beginning to overflow with cables but I use nothing but keyboard mouse and tiny ham radio, which don't require writing.
Beautiful image, Ann. In the heyday of black & white landscape photography you'd sometimes see snow scenes that had been blue-toned like this. Used a gold chloride toner, in contrast to the sulfur or selenium used for warm-toned prints.
I enjoyed Althouse's humble-bragging about her running; it reminded me of the definition of jogging vs running. Jogging ends and running begins when the bear starts chasing you.
