It is a well know fact among the Soviet patriots on this blog that Comrade Drago is Chuck's handler. Comrade Drago and Comrade Chuck both agents of Vladimir Putin. Both have been cited as Heroes of the Soviet Union for their work on this blog in support of Putin and his American proxy, Donald Trump. January 11, 2020 10:20 PM Trump tweet in Farsi 'the most liked Persian tweet' in history of Twitter
President Trump's tweet in Farsi expressing his support for Iranians protesting Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has already earned over 200,000 likes, making it the "most liked Persian tweet" in the social media giant's history, according to a leading think tank adviser.
“To the brave and suffering Iranian people: I have stood with you since the beginning of my presidency and my government will continue to stand with you. We are following your protests closely. Your courage is inspiring,” Trump wrote.
I think Trump and McConnell would just love a full up dramatic presentation in the Senate with new witnesses and testimony allowed - theirs about the extent of corruption coming out of Ukraine - while Pelosi wants a quick no vote and dismissal of all charges if she can just find a way for that to happen and no such testimony to be heard.

No doubt Chuck will delight in telling us how he is going to rub it in our faces when Trump loses this November, or when Trump dies of a stroke, or something, I am quite sure.

Very likely we had nothing to do with this because it happened in Karbala.
Seems that a lot of people in Karbala have had their fill of Iranian meddling in their country and are willing to do something about it:
4 Nov 2019 Three killed as Iraq protesters attack Iran consulate in Karbala Demonstrators in southern city attempt to storm building, as weeks-long protests in Iraq continue.
'...Demonstrators reportedly scaled the concrete barriers surrounding the building late on Sunday. They hung Iraqi flags and spray-painted "Karbala is free, Iran out, out!" on them, in a sign of increasing anger among some demonstrators against Tehran's perceived interference in Iraqi politics.'
A good day - one of those days where I was away from the news all day, took a few walks in the afternoon, and took some long naps, and wake up at 10 PM after the longest of naps, as those of us who often work brutal 40 hour weeks so often do on our Saturdays--- and I wake up at 10PM and turn on the Ravens game, see they are losing. Well good luck next year Ravens, at least this year we Jets fans won't have to hear for the next few weeks about what a genius Larry David was. and I wake up at 10 PM and check out Persian Twitter and see that the guy who I supported when he was one out of 17 Republican hopefuls just tweeted the most-liked tweet in the history of Persian Twitter. Now, I have lots of friends who have never said a single respectful word about our kind-hearted President, and I sort of feel sorry for them, I have known since before that day on that escalator in Manhattan, where my grandparents lived five generations or so ago, that his heart was in the right place, it must be so sad to live in a world where you don't know that, and still think that the average politician who opposed him was right to do so - whether on the anti-Trump NR side, the pro-choice Obama side, or simply on the almost-all-rich-white-guys-are-presumptively-bad side (sad!) - it must be so sad to be an American who has not been able to appreciate and enjoy, in the proper limited degree such things should be enjoyed, the blessing this nation has had to have a decent man - a flawed man but still a decent man - as president these last few years. Oremus invicem.
I recorded the MN-49ers game today so I could catch all the action without all the getting up off the ground and cutting to commercials. Much more enjoyable. We lived in the Twin Cities for six years and the SF Bay Area for 15 but my loyalties are not divided. Our time in the Bay Area coincided with football's most exciting era, the time of Joe Montana and Jerry Rice. And while I don't much care about sports these days, there will always be a soft spot in my heart for those games.
Oremus invoices means let's pray for each other. Spell check wants to call it "remus invoices". Lots of people who post here have more serious health issues than I do, hence - oremus invicem. It was nice to check out these comments and read the good news from Freeman Hunt.
Jeez, Narciso. Were you referring to Juvenal's "quis custodiet ipso custodes"? If so, no wonder I can't make any sense of what you say in English. If not, no idea what that one was supposed to mean.

Taal volcano is erupting. 6000 evacuated. https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1211871/taal-volcano-erupts
We were just there last year. Had the traditional buko ice cream. Its a lovely place even without the excitement of an eruption. I recommend the Taal Vista Hotel, which also has the best view.
There are some other excellent hotels there, but the Taal Vista has its famous back lawn from which the views are unsurpassed. The ridge road traffic can get bad though. One can also, sans eruption, arrange a boat ride to volcano island, and look at close range into where all the excitement is, or would be. That is a day trip.
The eruption, based on live video, is now much more significant than initial reports. The plume is up to thousands of feet. This may well turn into a genuine problem.
TBD. This is possibly the most intensely watched (and instrumented) volcano on earth. It is also surrounded by a very populous countryside.
Tommy Duncan said (yesterday)... Thanks to gilbar, iowan2 and Shouting Thomas for the suggestions. We live in SE Minnesota,

I can’t believe the Mullah’s are going with straight up Democrat propaganda. It looks like it might be working with US Democrats, but the Iranian people? Not so much. You think they are calling John Kerry and Ben Rhodes now asking what to say next?
According the Burgermeister Buttigig, we should have just let the Iranians continue to pick off our soldiers in Iraq because who knows what might happen if we tried to stop them?
Gilbar @ 8:17 He is simply not that smart. He's mentally unbalanced and seeks attention and approval. He desperately wants approval and attention from our hostess. If she gives it to him he will show up on her doorstep with a knife and a gun. You know. As gifts. Freeman Hunt said... "A good day! A friend's lost child was found!" A very good day.
I've been saying for some time: the shootdown of PS752 was deliberate and done on orders. The crew would have received a medal if they hadn't been caught.
How sick, how irrational, how non-Euclidean of thought process (ah, how Byzantine!) is the Iranian regime to find advantage in downing in airliner full of their own people, operated by one of rhe only countries willing to risk doing so?
Cui Bono? Were they satisfied because they wanted to kill an American airliner and a Boeing 737 is an American airliner, notwithstanding that it was owned and operated by Ukrainian and full of people of Iranian descent? The Russians, somehow? Was there some McGuffin on board worth killing for? Did they kill the WRONG airliner out of Khomeini Airport? Did they think they wouldn't be caught? Is the division in the US and ROW so bad they thought the Ds and Europe would side with them over the USA and PDT?
Maybe they're not as clever as we think. Obviously estimates of deviousness are short of the mark however. I wonder if they've dropped their demands of Ukraine Airlines for compensation of damages on the ground from the crashed aircraft.
This blaming the crew is a mere modified limited hangout, Mark my words. No, Rouhani already confessed, or rather he warned/bragged about it in advance. His Tweet:
Those who refer to the number 52 should also remember the number 290. #IR655 Never threaten the Iranian nation. 12:25 PM · Jan 6, 2020·Twitter for Android
-Rouhani invokes US military shootdown of Iranian Airbus airliner which for 32 years the regime has said was deliberate and we said an accident/fog of war
-Iran military shoots down American-made Boeing airliner
-First they said it was mechanical failure, then an accident/fog of war
When I say Rouhani confessed, it's not quite a "You're damned right I ordered the Code Red," but with apologies to J. Farmer, at this point they need to refute my incredulous stare.
“He's mentally unbalanced and seeks attention and approval. He desperately wants approval and attention from our hostess. If she gives it to him he will show up on her doorstep with a knife and a gun.”
What a stupid paranoid comment. The problem lies with the commenters here who are obsessed with Chuck. Aren’t the topics of the blog posts interesting enough for certain commenters to focus on, instead of another commenter named Chuck? Often Drago starts this and other dummies follow his lead.
Hate me for saying it, but the net result of "WW3" was

The way the Dems are, we'll see more "WW3's" so I'm thinking we should name them like hurricanes. For instance, the first "WW3" of 2020, the one just gone by, would be World War Albert. Next up, World War Beatty, World War Claude and so on.

and I wake up at 10 PM and check out Persian Twitter and see that the guy who I supported when he was one out of 17 Republican hopefuls just tweeted the most-liked tweet in the history of Persian Twitter.
It certainly seems that way stephen cooper, you spoke as if you were in ill heath the other night
Fair point, but you seem particularly troubled, if im not being too nosy.

Thanks to gilbar, iowan2 and Shouting Thomas for the suggestions. We live in SE Minnesota,
IF you drive to Lanesboro, and head south; you'll be going through the most bestest parts of both Minnesota AND Iowa. I'm Assuming you've been to Lanesboro?
hywy us-52; Canton (mn) to Decorah. iowa 9; through Waukon to Lansing;
Across the cool Lansing bridge to wisconsin. wisc 35 to La Crosse
is a pretty road trip i take a Lot. wisc 35 goes RIGHT next to the river, and is a must drive
Caledonia (mn) and down hwys 76 (iowa and mn has same number) to waukon,
or better yet; hop off on a26 (allamakee county rd: iowa river road) to new albin
and back to mn would be a nice shorter drive
Poetry or Code Book?
I can’t believe the Mullah’s are going with straight up Democrat propaganda. It looks like it might be working with US Democrats, but the Iranian people? Not so much. You think they are calling John Kerry and Ben Rhodes now asking what to say next?
According the Burgermeister Buttigig, we should have just let the Iranians continue to pick off our soldiers in Iraq because who knows what might happen if we tried to stop them?
"Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani died with his cell phone, a wad of bills in his wallet and books of poetry, new photos reveal."
Now the Left has a new Che, a new murderer to romanticize.
We should get out of Iraq though, even if that is what the Mullahs want, because we are not the world police.
Narciso nailed it last night while I was watching Tennessee hand it to Baltomore: Quic custodies custidium.
Has anybody seen Skylark and Aunty Trump in the same room? I'm pretty sure Skylark doesn't smoke cigarettes.
Gilbar @ 8:17
He is simply not that smart.
He's mentally unbalanced and seeks attention and approval.
He desperately wants approval and attention from our hostess.
If she gives it to him he will show up on her doorstep with a knife and a gun.
You know. As gifts.

A very good day.
https://www.asiatimes.com/2020/01/opinion/iran-keeps-concocting-fake-news-on-downed-jet/
#IR655
Never threaten the Iranian nation.

What a stupid paranoid comment. The problem lies with the commenters here who are obsessed with Chuck. Aren’t the topics of the blog posts interesting enough for certain commenters to focus on, instead of another commenter named Chuck? Often Drago starts this and other dummies follow his lead.
Freeman- I am so relived for your friend. What everyone must have been going through!
Admiral Inga: "Often Drago starts this and other dummies follow his lead."

Its hardly surprising Inga would defend her fellow leftist.

Hate me for saying it, but the net result of "WW3" was
- Trump looks strong
- Iran looks weak
- Pelosi looks petty
- Dems look hypocritical
- Obama looks naive
- MSM looks hysterical
- Canada looks like a pussy
- A terrorist looks dead
- Iranians look angry at their leader"
The way the Dems are, we'll see more "WW3's" so I'm thinking we should name them like hurricanes. For instance, the first "WW3" of 2020, the one just gone by, would be World War Albert. Next up, World War Beatty, World War Claude and so on.
“Both Inga and LLR-lefty C**** were banned from this blog.”
Apparently Althouse had her reasons for allowing me to comment here. Don’t you think it’s time you respected her decision and stop bitching about it? You’re such an obsessive bitch, Drago.
