I would love to see them, accurately by the way, describe Hillary as the “widely mocked loser of the last election.”

i'd go with: Resistance is Futile
He's neither as good nor as bad assume people say about him...myself, I LOVE HIM. Even when, or maybe, especially when, he is a tool.
hyperbole is common in marketing. shrug.
They will be Dusted off in 2020 Election?!
Clicking on the links like this always provides more data supporting the impression that there's a set population of dumb, sad TDS sufferers who spend their lives searching for Trump-related content and appending their rubber-room cogitations about Putin-stoogery and the dastardly motivations of Trump supporters to whatever they find. The names start to look familiar. (That Jong-Fast person blogged about here shows up regularly.)
Just remember gilbar, it was Seven of Nine that used to say Resistance is Futile, and it was her divorce records that gave us 8 years of Obama. That said, I like what you did there.
i'd go with: Resistance is Futile
So would Ann Coulter
Inevitable? Perhaps not. But it is written.

I cannot stand super hero movies.
The WaPo story linked by Atlhouse is paywalled. So I can't see the full quote from Thanos' creator, Jim Starlin. His quote was:
"After my initial feeling of being violated, seeing that pompous fool using my creation to stroke his infantile ego, it finally struck me that the leader of my country and the free world actually enjoys comparing himself to a mass murderer," Starlin said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. "How sick is that? These are sad and strange times we are going through. Fortunately, all things, even national nightmares, eventually come to an end."
From the not-paywalled Hollywood Reporter:

What did almost-Thanos creator, Holmes, say about this video?
Probably thought it sounded good.
President Trump's re-election is đļđģđ˛đđļđđŽđ¯đšđ˛.
I'll vote anyway, just to make sure.
Good to know that Starlin can indulge his pique with the best of them. If he didn’t want “his” creation to be “violated” through ironic comment, parody and fair use, he should have kept his pen dry.
On balance, I think Trump knows more about playful repurposing of cultural ephemera than many of the hacks who created them.
Just IMHO.

I can't wait for LLR-lefty Chuck to give us a detailed update on the deep deep political thoughts of Alysso Milano next as that is probably a good indicator of where his thoughts are at this moment.
In a world of humorless scolds, the funny man is King.
The actor who played Thanos played W.
It’s all in good fun.
King Kong. Godzilla. Thanos
Some people need to lighten up
It is strange and sad times, with social media the people that actually create things that matter (agriculture, energy) are seeing the "elites" for what they are.
For me, I didn't work at Sullivan & Cromwell like Ms. Althouse but I worked at a white-shoe firm for 7 years. Talking to one of my fellow associates how I took voice lessons in school to fix my speed-talking and mentioned I'm from a place in Ohio that speaks with a southern accent - he glibly said "people from Ohio don't speak with a Southern accent".
-second story, was just in DC for a friend's wedding, one of the groomsmen went into a rant about Trump that went over like a lead zeppelin, even in that crowd. Same crowd at breakfast the next morning treated the mostly Hispanic like crap. One Connecticut woman demanded that the waitstaff bring real marmalade out. Can we all agree coastal elites are neither elite or likable, they are freaking a-holes!
I have a favor to ask of LLR-lefty Chuck.
I know Chuck probably has a list of thousands of far left hollywood types whose political opinions he adores, but perhaps he will be kind enough to boil it down to 2 or 3 for us so that we can understand more fully where he is coming from as a "True Conservative".
LOL
And let us say, its not acting for him to play a sociopath.
President Trump's re-election is .
What ever happened to "your worst nightmare"?
Wince: "What ever happened to "your worst nightmare"?"
Indeed.
Recall that LLR-lefty Chuck, as a representative leftist here, literally called the republican sweep of 2016 an absolute "disaster".
So, yes, there is no doubt that if Trump becomes inevitable and that inevitability leads to the republicans retaining the Senate and recapturing the House, we will be looking at another republican sweep that LLR-lefty Chuck will deem an absolute "disaster", Part II.
We should get back to the stability of our elected officials pocketing million and millions in secret... with their facade of stability.
Was that clip doctored?
Apologies if someone else beat me to this, but ya gotta watch this NBC interview of AG Barr by Pete Williams. .
It explains the skulldudgery of Brennan-Comey cabal against the Trump campaign in 2016. In my mind, it helps explain why Trump will win again in 2020, once this is exposed as the Dems and media allies are further discredited.

Make it so! Then,....... the obligatory "don't get cocky kid" warning from Glen Reynolds.
Why would they bother writing "widely mocked campaign video" when we all know the width of the mocking ends where the swath of pro-Trump praise begins? That's how everything plays out today. Even left-wing outlets and their readers know that.
If Trump wants to appeal to the humor of lefties, he has to do stuff like threaten to punch conservative children who wear MAGA hats.

The mass murderers the Left was enthralled with, like Mao and Stalin, those were real. The Hollywood Left in particular had a warm spot for the Soviets and Fidel Castro and Che, real, actual mass murders.

Of course Thanos creator rips, he’s Hollywood. Of course it’s widely mocked, by democrats, their minions and toadies - who are not enough to win in 2020.
Oh, I almost missed the “violated” part. Is that like a #MeToo moment?

Francisco D: "I fear that Lindsay is all hat and no cattle, like Trey Gowdy."
We all fear that.
However, Graham is laying out quite a bit here, more than I thought he would, regardless of what might or might not come after.
We will have to wait and see.
The antimonitor, seems to be the counterpart to thanos, in the crisis series.
Just another weapon of mass distraction. Trump wants this whole business to look as "comic opera" as possible, and he uses his laser pointer to get all the cats to jump from here to there to somewhere else.
Hmmmm, Graham, wisely, is fessing up, again, regarding his dealings with John McCain and the hoax dossier in Dec 2016.
McCain and McCain staffers sucked Graham into this (not that it took much effort) and Graham is and has been pre-emptively offering it up to address it publicly to get past the fact that he was fooled by this hoax dossier effort initially.
Amazing, as noted above by Drago, that CNN and MSNBC are purposely ignoring Graham's presentation.
But will cut to the hearing as soon as Horowitz starts talking.
Graham's comments now mirror perfectly Barr's comments from yesterday.
Graham’s up for re-election next year. He’ll revert to a squish within twelve months.
Limited Blogger: "Amazing, as noted above by Drago, that CNN and MSNBC are purposely ignoring Graham's presentation."
It has to be noted that CNN and MSNBC are the 2 favorite networks of a certain LLR-lefty who likes posting at Althouseblog even after being banned.

The Steele Dossier was a piece of shit. All lies. It is remarkable that a gullible Media printed it, it is remarkable that the FBI presented it to a federal judge to get warrant to spy on Trump.
Beasts of England: "Graham’s up for re-election next year. He’ll revert to a squish within twelve months."
I do believe that Graham would have been happy to do much of what he has done the past 2 years whether or not he was up for reelection or not.
However, being up for reelection does light a fire, doesn't it? Graham can certainly read political tea leaves.
You have to appreciate Graham rhetorically donning the garb of "deplorable" several times this morning to further ingratiate himself with South Carolina voters.
Doddering Dianne Feinstein is speaking now. She is 86! Older than Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
There’s a chance he’s genuinely angry about this mess, Drago, but I’ll never trust him much. However, I’m pleased that he’s doing his part at the moment.
Beasts of England: "There’s a chance he’s genuinely angry about this mess, Drago, but I’ll never trust him much."
That is my default position for all politicians. Even Trump, although in Trump's defense he's no politician. Which makes all the difference.
‘Corroboration Zero’: An Inspector General’s Report Reveals the Steele Dossier Was Always a Joke
The report throws water on one “deep state” conspiracy theory of the Russia investigation, but validates complaints about “fake news”
"The Guardian headline reads: “DOJ Internal watchdog report clears FBI of illegal surveillance of Trump adviser.”
If the report released Monday by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz constitutes a “clearing” of the FBI, never clear me of anything. Holy God, what a clown show the Trump-Russia investigation was.
...
Officials on the “Crossfire Hurricane” Trump-Russia investigators went to extraordinary, almost comical lengths to seek surveillance authority of figures like Trump aide Carter Page. In one episode, an FBI attorney inserted the words “not a source” in an email he’d received from another government agency. This disguised the fact that Page had been an informant for that agency, and had dutifully told the government in real time about being approached by Russian intelligence. The attorney then passed on the email to an FBI supervisory special agent, who signed a FISA warrant application on Page that held those Russian contacts against Page, without disclosing his informant role.
MSM?
*crickets*
’That is my default position for all politicians.’
I could never be that cynical. ;)
“I fear that Lindsay is all hat and no cattle, like Trey Gowdy.”
Snicker. Gowdy was one of the most effective cross examiners in Congress, really quite deadly. I am very happy he is part of Trump's team for any senate trial.

Just a question--since I'm not going to watch the Senate and House shenanigans on all this---has the House actually passed the articles of impeachment? Or are they simply still yammering about it?
Mostly yammering.
Graham is doing a great job with Horowitz. The evidence collapsed in Jan 2017, and there was no basis to renew the FISA warrants.
But, Yes, with him, trust, but verify.
So how were they renewing the following spring?
Stock market is hovering around unchanged, waiting for Jerome Powell statement later today, and a possible Chinese tariff announcement from the WH.
Congressional hearings are just confirming what the market has known for years. Trump and his team have no culpability.
Nothing to see here.
Trump's reelection is NOT inevitable and he will only win if EVERYONE on his side gets outs and vote. The D's are going to pull every Vote fraud trick in the book, and will whip their base up to a hysterical level. Right now they're at Trump hate 90, and the MSM will increase that to 99.9 to get them out to vote. Wisconsin and the Midwest will NOT be ignored this time.
Trump 2016 win was a miracle. It may not be repeated.
Wow! Graham tore Horowitz a new one in his closing remarks there.
When I read Thanos I pictured the pretty blue-eyed woman with the deep voice who wasted millions on a failed medical testing device. Heh!
Nothing is inevitable, but I am beginning to think the main point of a lot of Trump's tweets, esp the ones with graphic memes, is to demonstrate that the other side is a humorless bunch of scolds. Those tweets certainly have had that result, but I am thinking maybe that is their purpose.
This is not hard to do because they wear their TDS with pride.
In 'Animal House' terms: Who would want to ally with Dean Wormer instead of Bluto Blutarsky? The Dems are a bunch of Marmalards and Neidermeyers.
Voter turn out is critical. Trump voters from 2016 will return. Many 'pubs who stayed home will now get out and vote for Trump in 2020. And best of all, all the new Trump voters that have been created will also head to the polls.
Don't know if all dems will show up to vote for Joe.
Martin: "This is not hard to do because they wear their TDS with pride."
We have examples of this on this very blog. Leftists all, regardless of how they label themselves.
Ok. Spoke to the gf about my poetry. Women have an intuition. It's true. She told me that I should just let my poems go into the public sphere. Since I am in the process of moving into a different phase of my life I will - with Ann Althouse's permission - publish my poetry here. It is my intention to write new poems - maybe a book of poems - that represent what life can be like once a warrior returns to the hum-drum of everyday living in the greatest country on planet earth.
I will not publish my love poems. Those I keep for myself.
Trigger warning. A lot of my poetry in the oughts was very very angry and filled with rage. It had to be.
Every time I comment on AA's blog from now on I will give out one of my non-sexy poems. I give this poetry for free.

You don’t play to lose. And if you show up to play, you don’t talk about the possibility of losing. Trump has kept the Democrats, even as they lash out, in a fetal crouch for 3 years. I can’t think of a single instance where a person/group/country in that attitude didn’t lose.
I've seen this movie - this is the scene right before Thanos *loses*. Odd choice for a pro-Trump campaign video.
Yeah, if only the Democrats had a Tony Stark.

Why? It made me laugh, what else matters? A strict reading of the sacred texts and cinematic revelations isn't relevant.

Good for Trump. All this analysis and outrage by the left is part of the plan.
i'd go with: Resistance is Futile
Just go with: Trump's Reelection is on the Right Side of History.
It provides the undertone of inevitability with the moral snark sure to make heads explode.

Sad, defenseless little artistic, leftist man... stand up, feel heroic as you create the empty enterprises that lower IQs if viewed.
Sad times, indeed, but not for the reasons you would ever cite.
Considering the source, I would bet this ad was specifically designed to tweak outrage in Trump's enemies, and get them retweeting the ad.
Does this hurt or help Trump? I think people overanalyze these sorts of things. Really, who is going to have their minds changed by seeing this, either in promotion or in criticism? Probably no one.
Remember who was inevitable in 2016.

No wonder LLR-lefty Chuck feels a powerful and deep kinship with this far left hollywood moron.
Philosophically, Thanos resembles no one else more than Greta Thunberg.
Dick Durbin just finished questioning Horowitz a short time ago.
Whenever Durbin is being televised one pictures LLR-lefty Chuck laying about at his home, with his bathrobe on and open and getting rather........comfortable.......
although trump is more like tony stark, playboy philanthropists developer sans suit, with a touch of arrogance, I'm grokking why marvel cut starlin out, are there seven keys, to his reelection,
They are totes pissed at this over on Gizmodo, CERTAIN that Trump is Just. Like. Thanos. and would kill us all if he had a chance.
And if it was a vid of Pelosi doing it, blowing away the hated right? They'd be cheering it.
Trump as a cartoon villain ticks the two major campaign boxes. Triggers libtard outrage, check. Stimulates bad-boy overcompensation in his base, check.
Completely in character for every stripe of punter..
When you create a comic book character, you know that, unless you specifically get a contract clause, it's "work for hire" and that other writers are going to be taking the character in directions you never dreamed of..
Dick Durbin had a reputation as one of the dumbest, laziest lawyers in Springfield, Illinois, so he had to run for CONgress to make a living. His principles are very flexible too. He once was a pro-life Dem, but now has been banned from Communion by his bishop
he was selected by aipac to run against Charles percy, who was considered too pro arab, but stark is second generation rich,(stan lees version of howard hughes) arrogant, somewhat like his analog in dc oliver queen, one might say it's bruce wayne,
TJM: "Dick Durbin had a reputation as one of the dumbest, laziest lawyers in Springfield, Illinois, so he had to run for CONgress to make a living."
According to LLR-lefty Chuck, au contraire!
LLR-lefty Chuck is the biggest booster of the theory that Dick "us troops are gestapo" Durbin is astonishingly "competent" and a diligent and hard worker and infinitely more honest than Donald Trump.
Even after one compensates for LLR-lefty Chuck's usual over the top praise of all things democrat, this ranks as some of his heaviest praise for any dem (which is really saying something).
BTW, I listened to Mike Lee's questioning of Horowitz.
Ugh.
He should have thrown his time to someone else.
Lee and Romney.
Really Utah?
Just as there's a clear streak of ironic self-awareness in a lot of Trump's humour, I think a lot of the Trump support online is intended to communicate simultaneously on sincere and ironic levels, in a way that is common with internet humour, but seems lost on a lot of people.
For example, when people post memes of Trump as the God Emperor of Mankind from Warhammer 40K, they're usually expressing sincere support for Trump, yes. But the character they're using is, ah, not an heroic character particular, other than perhaps by the standards of the setting ("In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war"). He's some kind of psychic godking ruling a brutal galactic theocratic empire, whose life has been sustained for thousands of years by massive human sacrifices. Similarly, when people use Game of Thrones memes, like "bend the knee" -- the kings and warlords of Westeros are not good people. And here, Thanos is obviously the villain of the story (unless you're Greta Thunberg I guess).
Jim Starlin may simply be too dense to appreciate it, but there's an obvious, knowingly ironic playfulness at work in using these over-the-top images. The people who create this stuff know that Trump's opponents regularly use similarly over-the-top comparisons to criticise him, and (unironically?) seem to think he's some kind of fascist. These kinds of memes take that nonsense, dial it up to 1000%, and undercut it with humour. It's similar to how Trump likes to put on a grandiose spectacle and simultaneously undercut it. You see that pretty much every time he has a rally. There's none of the pompous self-serious stentorian declamation you see in the videos of Hitler at Nurmberg (or, say, Obama). That's the mode you expect for the setting. But what you get is basically a guy at a bar doing a comic monologue.
Trump isn't the first major politician to do this -- I think it's actually pretty common for American politicians to exploit the grandiosity of our public ceremony to draw a contrast with their coarse, "everyman" persona. But he does it all the time, and I think it's a major part of his appeal, notwithstanding that he doesn't bother pretending to be an "everyman."
Klobuchar is such a hack.
Browndog: "Klobuchar is such a hack."
Recall that the entirety of the NeverTrump movement declared themselves happy to vote for ANY democrat, including Klobuchar, over Trump.
it's like Charlie brown's teacher,
'ig horowitz, in your experience in the justice department, has there been an investigation open on such flimsy grounds, is that not an indicator of bias,
I don't want to overestimate the effect, but Trump memes will help to persuade new voters. Not only is the economy, etc., good, Trump is fun. Fun is infectious.
