"His name — quickly forgotten, obviously — Michael Avenatti."

All goodthinkers immediately forget anything or anybody embarrassing to the democrat party.

Bay Area Guy म्हणाले...

There was a 2-month period where Avenatti made 108 appearances on CNN, MSNBC, and was being touted as a presidential candidate.

I guess that gets flushed down the Leftwing memory hole.

Jaq म्हणाले...

He did the same thing with Michael Cohn too, a few weeks back. Getting a dig in at Trump and nobody knew who that was either, “How quickly we forget” is what he said then. I kind of wrote him off as another one lost to partisan rancor at that time so this is no surprise.

In case you're considering pursuing fame, this is a good lesson.

When ole Michael A was a Leftwing media star.

I reckon times change, eh?

rehajm म्हणाले...

To forget requires that you once had known.

when did all This happen?
who was this Stormy person?
What does it have to do with Ukrainian bribes?

Do we consider Jeopardy! contestants to be smart or well read or both? I do. The super successful ones aren't common but not rare either. They come from a variety of backgrounds. Were you to meet them at a friends house or at work you would probably think they fall somewhere in the middle of the normal distribution.

That they can't recall Avenatti's name - none of these three even displayed that tip of the tongue look on their face - is evidence of my theory that most Americans don't pay attention to all this Trump political drama.

I knew the name right away, even his first name. And I'm willing to bet most of you do too.

Who was this Robert Mueller guy? What did HE have to do with Ukrainian bribes?

That's all I could think of when I was watching it; I only came up with similar polysyllabic names that didn't sound right. I chuckled at the moment.

These are the 3 finalists in what has been a championship tournament. The guy in the middle is the best or second best person ever to play on Jeopardy. The woman to his left is the person who ended his run. This isn't just another day on Jeopardy.

Fernandinande म्हणाले...

I did teh google on his name and now he's famous for being forgotten on Jeopardy.

rehajm म्हणाले...

This isn't just another day on Jeopardy.

Even the best contestants have certain blind spots of knowledge. Potent potables, the Canadian culture references...

...they tend to loathe finance and economics.

stevew म्हणाले...

"This isn't just another day on Jeopardy."

Oh, I know, I watch as often as I can. James' depth of knowledge is amazing, as is his memory and recall ability. How is it possible that he couldn't come up with the name that was talked about 24/7 over a lengthy period within the past two years.

Francisco D म्हणाले...

Perhaps, Jeopardy contestants have better things to do than watch cable news.

rehajm म्हणाले...

Hey fun OT: My sister is on Wheel of Fortune tonight! She's been tight lipped about how she did. NDA I suppose...

stevew म्हणाले...

@Francisco D: that's my theory, not only for Jeopardy contestants but for most Americans.

This should be sent to all the Democrat/MSM leadership. Ever since President Trump came down the golden escalator, the Dems,MSM have been "publicizing" a narrative, of Orange man bad. Now we see proof,(like POTUS approval at 48% isn't enough) that outside a very small fraction of the American consciousness, few are paying attention to the theater production happening in DC. AviNutty was the perfect plot device, for the narrative the DEM/MSM is conveying. National exposure that averaged twice a day. But we all know the averages don't tell the story. It was every single hour for 12-24 hours a day. The perfect media saturation. National news channels, but leaking into the morning and evening local broadcasts on TV and Radio.
How's that impeachment going to affect the 2020 elections? Dems can ask AviNutty, but they too will ignore the message he represents.
Only a small number of voters are paying attention. Of those paying attention today, they have learned there is a difference between the production presented, and facts on the ground.
Truly, Dems/MSM have cried wolf, far to many times.

A good question for Jeopardy would be: "Who killed Epstein?" or "Who had Epstein killed?"

Sally327 म्हणाले...

Too bad the people who gave Avenatti so much press and airtime and actually fueled the idea he could be President can't sink into obscurity and be quickly forgotten as well.

Sebastian म्हणाले...

Interesting, isn't it, how many people willingly serve as pawns in the prog narrative, and how easily they are discarded.

But is Americans' intention and amnesia good or bad for the right? I mean, to recognize the narrative spinning and the tool-using and the sheer manipulation by the hegemonic propaganda lords, you'd have to know and remember something. Ignorance makes you vulnerable--and so progs keep at it, secure in the knowledge that any absurdity will disappear down the memory hole.

Amadeus 48 म्हणाले...

But wait--wasn't he a serious contender for president (per CNN/MSNBC)? That's it! He coulda been a contender...instead of a bum...which is what he is.

OR...this is an empirical example of how little influence CNN/MSNBC have on smart people.

OR...nobody wants to admit that they know who he is.

That Julie Swetnik thing was a bad look...and then the lawsuits and the eviction ...and the order his client Stormy ("If only these were brains") Daniels pay $300,000 of Trump's legal fees.

Some day in a seedy dump in the off-Earth penal colonies, Avenatti will be sitting at the bar trying to sell Florida land (by then under water) to cyborgs.

Amadeus 48 म्हणाले...

Avenatti is probably angling to become Robert Mueller's legal guardian...then manage his lecture tour...then promote Mueller as a WWE heel in Geriatric Smackdown 2025--Mueller vs. Trump--POTUS's Revenge!

Birkel म्हणाले...

The guy with the big lead should have clicked and answered:

"Epstein did not kill himself."

stlcdr म्हणाले...

Even when he was famous (sic), I kept on thinking ‘who?’

Ray - SoCal म्हणाले...

Memory holed.

Just like what the msm is doing with abc, cbs, and Epstein.

Same thing is going on with the planned parenthood videos.

Interesting- the judge decided they are guilty of trespassing...

traditionalguy म्हणाले...

Avenatti mastered the use of Proverbs 18:17 wisdom: "The first to plead his case seems right until another comes comes forward and questions him." And CNN thought he was the best they had ever seen at doing what they do. And then came the Schifty Schift who deposed King Avenatti.

I blame that Orange Communicator Man continually coming forward on Twitter.

I was shocked that James missed the Oscar Wilde daily double. There was another easy one that none rang in, but now I can't remember it (might have been Wednesday).

Poor Francois might as well go home.

Mark म्हणाले...

I couldn't remember his name.

stevew has it right --

That they can't recall Avenatti's name - none of these three even displayed that tip of the tongue look on their face - is evidence of my theory that most Americans don't pay attention to all this Trump political drama.

All this anti-Trump stuff, with so many different charges and attacks, is just one big blur to most people. It has become white noise, something that is in the background and which people have lost interest in and do not pay precise attention to. Even the Dems are operating on a wide level of generality.

Wince म्हणाले...

That's why...

"We love you, Alex!"

Francisco D म्हणाले...

In case you're considering pursuing fame, this is a good lesson.

The lesson being that you better enjoy your 15 minutes because it's over quickly and no one will remember your name.

Isn't this just very strong evidence that politics isn't that important to 95% of Americans? I suspect there isn't single commenter on this page or any of the previous 20 pages of this blog who didn't know the question to this answer. We are unicorns, not horses.

Openidname म्हणाले...

This is meaningless, unless we know what the "answer"/question/clue/prompt was. Maybe it was just hard to tell that it referred to Avenatti.

Yancey Ward म्हणाले...

We do know, Openidname- just watch the clip.
