It's my hunch that "Wild West" saloons full of hard-drinking, heavily-armed cowpokes were far more convivial places than a typical Starbucks in Providence, Rhode Island.
Of course, the reason those pot-valiant vaqueros were heavily armed was to deal sharply with the occasional gum-snapping, tech-totting soyboy who wandered in... pour encourager les autres, as it were.
