Like the way you framed these two shots.

Watching the Wisconsin/Penn State hockey game. A sign in student section: "Somebody Hit Somebody."

3 inches so far in central Michigan, still snow pretty good. It's beautiful

Not one trick-or-treater. Sad.

Cafe post?

I keep wondering why it is that in all these years and all the strife about Obamacare I have not read hardly a word about how the medical professionals and institutions are likely to react having their livelihoods governed by this act.
It seems to me they surely must have a great interest in all this, but it like they do not even exist for all you can read about it.

Snow fall and coverage usually make for a quiet environment.

70 degrees, windy and rainy here along northeastern MA. Won't last long.

Stopping by woods on a snowy evening.

(Reading starts at the 90 second mark.)

No snow here. Virginia is a southern state. But the rain tonight would scare Noah half to death.

And I agree with Hagar. The estimated rise in healthcare utilization from "Medicare for All" is ten percent or higher, the payments to doctors and hospitals will go down at least twenty percent, and their paperwork requirements will go up tremendously. What makes any stupid Democrat (apologies for the redundancy) think we'd even have a healthcare system after "Medicare for All"?

I'm reminded that when I first moved to Madison about 8 years ago, I went to the mall on Halloween (for some forgotten reason), and the children of our rather large immigrant community were there trick-or-treating. Why were they at the mall and not in their own neighborhoods?

Since immigrant households tend to cluster together in the same neighborhoods, I'm wondering if they're simultaneously too cheap to buy candy for others while maximizing payout for their own kids. Am I being cynical? Anyway, there should be a study done on this topic.

The road ahead and the road behind with footprints. The footprints behind will be covered by the next snow, as will the memory of that moment, save for the photo.

It has been cold, with a recent high of only 45 for all of this week, but there is no snow in St. Paul. Weird. But I like it.

Driving rain last night, fewer trick or treaters, but still a lot. I hear some cities rescheduled halloween. I don’t get how that could happen—it’s not a holiday, the government plays no direct role.

I had exactly six trick-or-treaters last night. Brave young souls. It was 27 degrees. So I gave them all the candy.

If it's just a photo, you can talk about anything.

I don't say "café" because I don't want comments about how it's not a café because you have to wait for moderation.

The “Chatterbox Café” is a thing of the past... :(

It’s OK. I understand, but I miss them when they were good. Sometimes they could perseverate a bit on the obvious or the tedious, but sometimes they were good.

UNM medical school has a good reputation, I believe, and there is a shortage of general practitioners, so you would think that enrollment would be up to fill the void, but enrollment is actually down, and I see the politicians are "working" with UNM to create a state fund to subsidize medical school tuition in order to attract more students, but making it contingent on their solemn promise to stay in NM, at least for a while, upon graduation.
Have not seen anything about this generating any interest among the young people.

I'm told the Madison City Council has decreed that trick-or-treating ends at 8:30pm. They feel a need/right to control everything.

I'm finally feeling the better rhythm of the moderation policy. Thanks for sticking to your guns, professor.
