Nobody in Hollywood joined Bush in his criticism. Some in the press may have frowned upon it, but there was no real outrage. The scandal had a few days to run and then disappeared..... It's instructive to compare how that scandal played out versus this past one. It does appear that the left is far more destructive and vindictive when their sacred things are profaned than when the right takes offense. She's said some crazy shit in the past that was passed off with a shrug, but you can't use the insanity defense for p.c. violations. The "illness" I see is in the people who feel compelled to attack her. I was no fan of hers before, and I didn't like her National Anthem antics, but that was a simple mistake in humour. There was clearly no animus in it. It was a funny joke and the “racism” angle was applied retroactively by others. She was fired by Michelle Obama, basically, for “normalizing” Trump. Well Trump is normal, its the wannabee totalitarians who invent crimes like “dead naming” and punishments like “cancelling” that are not normal.
