Matt Drudge takes the lead:
My favorite part was when there was all this crosstalk and she busted out with: "A house divided cannot stand!"
I'm thinking, come on, Amy! That can be your trademark! When other people are talking, you just call out an old Lincoln quote: "My Best Friend is a person who will give me a book I have not read!" "I am a slow walker, but I never walk back!" "There are no bad pictures; that's just how your face looks sometimes!" You get the idea.
(I said this first over at Facebook, in a comment on a post by my son John. And I also put it on Twitter.)

Until she kills a giant, I see no need for a charity candidate other than Tulsi Gabbard. (Marianne Williamson isn't a charity candidate, she's just awesome.)
She just needs to choose accurate quotes from Lincoln.
"The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is hard to verify their authenticity."
~ Abraham Lincoln (source: the Internet)
Calling a tail a leg does not make it one.
Does she even realize it's a quote from the Bible? [Mark 3:25] Lincoln did.
Her ears are too big. And she eats her salad with a comb - which she always has. Because she always has to comb her hair over her big ears.
That's the most interesting thing about her. Midwestern Bland always loses. Last President from the Midwest? Harding. Ike/Hoover left the Midwest early in life. Ike went to West Point. Hoover to Stanford. And neither went back.
A few years back, at some sort of party confab, Amy announced that she held the Senate record for raising money from ex-boyfriends. She said the House record was held by Barney Frank. Barney didn't think that was very damn funny.
Regarding Amy, I think she is the least offensive, and least insane of the sorry lot.
Minnesota sensibilities?
So, Go Amy!
And I worked "A house divided cannot stand" into my soon to be award-winning script "Frankenstein in Love."
Lincoln got that quote from the Bible; Mark 3:25.
"A house divided..." is actually from the Bible. Mark 3:25. Lincoln used it well, though
The only problem with supporting Amy is that she'll drag behind her the Democratic Party, which is now the party of gun-grabbers, anti-Semites, trash the economy (free health care! free college!), abortions up to the moment of birth, anti-free speech, and open borders.
Isn't she a little bit old to be breaking out?
She should be able to afford to see a dermatologist.
She could try this one.
“I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races ... I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality.”
Abraham Lincoln, 1858
Or maybe not.
"A house divided cannot stand, but a house salad with a nice, straight part? I would stand in line for that." - Amy Klovenhoof
In Amy's first campaign for office (grade school) her campaign slogan was, "All the way with Amy K."
I say, bring it back.
Klobuchar's advisors just figured out that no one, not even Joey Loose Teeth Biden, is even trying to occupy the empty Dem Moderate lane so, since she's got nothing else, Klobuchar might as well slide into it for better or worse and hope for complete left and far left fratricide.
Last President from the Midwest?
Well, there was that coloured chap from Chicago a few years back.
It's a bit disconcerting that one of these 10 losers will get the nomination, and, thus, because of institutional political structures, will have a 50-50 shot at becoming the most powerful man/woman on the planet.

"A house divided cannot stand!"
Amy! That can be your trademark!
How many trademarks does Amy have if you call her slogan a trademark?
Four. Saying that a slogn is a trademark doesn't make it a trademark.
She’s had a serious makeover. Better hair and makeup, maybe Botox. Someone convinced her Looking dowdy wasn’t working.
Amy is the least crazy, and I have liked her ever since the Kavanaugh hearings. But lately she has looked just horrible (all of them looked awful last night - something about the lighting), like she never sleeps and has gained weight, and why that green jacket. I wish she would lose 30 pounds and start dressing like Kamala. I know that's shallow but Trump getting elected as an overweight slob is not the norm.

A house divided is called a duplex. Built to code they stand just fine.
Any and Tulsi and Maryanne. Most likeable.
Warren and Sanders are the most liked by the far left who want Santa-socialism.
Yang seems fairly normal and sensible, as least in style and communications skills. His plan to give people free money is stupid and will help a lotta neighborhood liquor stores, so there's that.
Everybody have fun tonight -- everybody Yang chun tonight
I didn't realize moderation was turned back on.
If my prior post makes it, note that we have only had 6 presidents who were over 200 pounds. Weight matters to voters and I think a younger slimmer Hillary would have done better.
https://www.potus.com/presidential-facts/presidential-weight/
If you saw the pre-debate photos of candidates standing next together, all of them looked relatively slim except for Amy.
I thought they put the comb in her, couldn't resist,

Drudge has become Mr. Clickbait who attracts readers seeking false drama.
"Can't we all just get along?" could be her attempt at Minnesota Nice.
If only Garrison Keillor could help.
Last president from the Midwest? Is Chicago in the Midwest?
readering: "Drudge readers like their lotteries!"
Drudge readers have been more impressed by Yang during all of these debates prior to that 1 announcement.
Just because you just showed and noticed something does not represent evidence of causation.
"you just call out an old Lincoln quote"
Right. If you want to convey that Republicans have made more sense from the very beginning and that Dems haven't had a worthwhile idea in over a century.
In Minnesota, Klobuchar is a magic surname. Now that she has to get votes across the St. Croix, her mediocrity shines through. To change things up, she might move to Illinois and change name to Kupcinet.
The least insane inmate in the asylum is still insane
Klobuchar? Isn't that the Medieval weapon that used a large weight to toss dead horses over the walls of enemy castles?
I wonder how you set the range on one of those things.

Drudge poll voters like a good joke. Especially at dems expense..
What do these people have to offer? Other than “I just hate Trump and want him out” there is no policy they’re offering which is a better deal than what we already have.
The economy is so good they didn’t even discuss it for three hours.
Trump has China, North Korea, and Iran where he wants them, with the Dems clamoring that they’ll cave to “make a deal”.
Everything else they’re offering is a fantasy.
Look at this group, know you’re voting Trump, and go live your life.
Sorry but if any candidate deserves to be bustin' out it's Tulsi.
rcocean at 11:33
Last President from the Midwest? Harding.
Nope. Reagan was from Dixon, IL.
Alright, already, I'm getting dressed, Mary. We won't be late. (You'd think she'd never seen a play before...Jesus!) Look! You see? I've knotted my tie. (Please shut the hell up, you screeching harridan.) As soon as I find my hat.
The interesting thing about that verse that a lot of people miss.
Hell is not divided. Christ used that line to demonstrate that he is not the devil. Because the devil cannot drive the devil out. IE: A house divided cannot stand.
We always portray Hell as. House divided. Christ says different
A leader doesn’t sit in the middle of all that stupidity and wait for everyone to recognize her greatness.
She’s running for the leader of the free world.
Not a representative of a second-tier country at the G20 summit
I don't want to be the president for half of America — I want to be the president for all of America."
Trump also made this claim. And he's done it, even if a portion of America refuses to give him any credit for it.
....and what happened to the blood in Biden's eye? Did he just get favorable camera angles? Can that blood be drained for cosmetic purposes?
Biden is starting to remind me of the alien cockroach-in-a-man-suit from "Men In Black".
A house covered in illegal aliens' shit is going to stink.
Amy Klobuchar: We have a game show President.
Andrew Yang: 10 of you watching tonight will win $1,000 a month for a year!
I would support Klobuchar for the same reason Democrats supported Trump in the primaries. I'm sure she'd lose the general. Of course, I'm sure any Democrat in the current field would lose the general, and fake polls be damned.
Will the country vote for a person who is known to eat a salad with a hair comb? Will they think it a situation of a woman thinking on the fly and using her ingenuity? Or think it a case of not enough nourishment in that dish to justify the obscenity of it all?
“Four. Saying that a slogn is a trademark doesn't make it a trademark”
Very true. The legal standard is likelihood of confusion, and whether the mark adequately identifies the good or service in the minds of the relevant political public. However failure to police a mark that you are attempting to establish can be detrimental to that cause.
Just what we need: another fake moderate.

News: Klobuchar IS signing onto the Green New Deal resolution, per her spox. Initial cosponsors list circulated by @justicedems this afternoon did not include her name.
One problem with supporting Klobuchar is that Trump is still a better choice.
The phrase is “a house divided against itself cannot stand.” Fucking Democrats can’t even get a quote right.
Gerald Ford was from Michigan.
Ms. Klobuchar will remain--bringing up the rear.
If you look at the results of the Drudge Poll, Yang was the runaway winner at 34%. Yet Klobuchar, who came in third at 16% behind Yang and Biden (22%) in the poll, is the one with the smiling picture and the headline? What about Yang? Where's my free money? Free money, dammit!

Pssst! rcocean! Harry Truman was from Independence, Missouri, as Midwestern as you can get. Heart of America. I grew up in Kansas City and Harry is still considered a local hero, plainspoken and as honest as a Democrat could possibly be (low bar, granted, but those were different times and different Democrats).
I Drudge poll voted for Klobuchar openly because she was so Casper Milquetoaste at this debate (again) that she was the least likely to get a vote, so pity on her.
Klobuchar is a milquetoaste Gabbard, but Gabbard is appealing and seemingly moderate (in comparison) so she was not on the debate stage.
I'll see your trademark and raise you a servicemark, pardner.

That's kinda like saying Hillary was from New York. Obama was from Hawaii by way of Indonesia.
She might be the worst of the lot.

Truman was from Missouri. Ford was from Michigan. As mentioned earlier, Obama was from Illinois.
Hillary made sure she didn't accidentally get any Michigan or Wisconsin on her, and we saw how that turned out.
Amy's intelligence would give Trump a strong challenge. But the rest of the Dems want that nomination too much to let her have it. And the rumor is that she is not a Lesbian. That will stop her.
I asked why Liz got the early love over other senators like Amy in a post last night
You'd think D-Mass would have been a stone and D-Anywhere Not Coast would be a big help
It makes you wonder why

Please, not "coloured chap." That's so racist. It's "chap of colour."
She won't happen.
I see some peeps are taking exception to my comment that Harding was our "Last President who was a Midwesterner". And tossing out names like Truman, Ford, and Reagan. I already went over Ike and Hoover, as for these:
Reagan left the mid-west in 1935 and spent the rest of his life in California. I consider him a Californian. Truman came from Missouri, a border state. Truman's mother was a Confederate & never got over hating the Yankees. As for Gerald Ford, he was our only un-elected POTUS. And he lost when he ran for President in 1976. BTW, Midwest doesn't equal slavery. Kentucky? Not Midwest. W.V? Not Midwest. Missouri? Not Midwest.
Not a chance in Hell will she be the nominee.
Virgil Hilts asserts: Weight matters to voters and I think a younger slimmer Hillary would have done better.
Um, no. Even a Twiggy-shaped Hillary would still be the same evil, conniving, lying cackler that she is now.
Yes, Tulsi was the only reasonable candidate.
We've has several LOSING candidates from the Midwest: Landon, Humphrey, Stevenson, Dole, Mondale, McGovern, BTW, Obama is not from the Midwest. He grew up in Hawaii, Went to College at Harvard, Occidental and Columbia. He went to Chicago as an Community Organizer and then got elected to the State Legislature for a few years, before moving to DC. He now lives in DC/Martha's Vineyard.
You might as well claim Hillary was a Midwesterner. Ha. Does anyone think that. Isn't she from Chicago-land originally?
"When other people are talking, you just call out an old Lincoln quote:"
"He seems confused and stunned, like a duck hit on the head." She should find plenty of use for this quote during the debates.
Having learned nothing in the eleven years since 2008, Althouse looks for a senator of no particular note to project all her hopes and dreams onto.
Well the fast flowers (flow--ers) such as myself knew it couldn't last, the same way we know Amy can never start.
I wouldn't have sacrificed near the amount Althouse has up to this point and I respect her decision to say fuck off to the assholes who made their existence an exercise is working up Althouse (in their mind).
Nothing compared to Sarah Palin's flack, but not nothing for a regular person. Way, way more than I couldn't have started to handle.
And in the end, I think it will be a much better reading experience. I didn't used to think that way, even a short time ago, but for some reason I feel differently now.
Althouse and the comments have always been the hook, not the comments specifically fast flowed.
To change what, to my limited perspective, was the winning formula just because it worked for me is no reason to not improve what which should be able to work for everyone seeking and honoring good faith discussion, at no tall expense to the hostess' liberty.
Blues Traveler – Hook Lyrics
from album: Four (1994)
Music & Lyrics: John Popper
It doesn't matter what I say
So long as I sing with inflection
That makes you feel that I'll convey
Some inner truth of vast reflection
But I've said nothing so far
And I can keep it up for as long as it takes
And it don't matter who you are
If I'm doing my job then it's your resolve that breaks
Because the hook brings you back
I ain't tellin' you no lie
The hook brings you back
On that you can rely
There is something amiss
I am being insincere
In fact I don't mean any of this
Still my confession draws you near
To confuse the issue I refer
To familiar heroes from long ago
No matter how much Peter loved her
What made the Pan refuse to grow
Was that the hook brings you back
I ain't tellin' you no lie
The hook brings you back
On that you can rely
Suck it in suck it in suck it in
If you're Rin Tin Tin or Anne Boleyn
Make a desperate move or else you'll win
And then begin
To see
What you're doing to me this mtv is not for free
It's so pc it's killing me
So desperately I sing to thee
Of love
Sure but also rage and hate and pain and fear of self
And I can't keep these feelings on the shelf
I've tried well no in fact I lied
Could be financial suicide but I've got too much pride inside
To hide or slide
I'll do as I'll decide and let it ride until I've died
And only then shall I abide this tide
Of catchy little tunes
Of hip three minute ditties
I wanna bust all your balloons
I wanna burn all of your cities
To the ground I've found
I will not mess around
Unless I play then hey
I will go on all day hear what I say
I have a prayer to pray
That's really all this was
And when I'm feeling stuck and need a buck
I don't rely on luck because...
The hook brings you back
I ain't tellin' you no lie
The hook...
On that you can rely
Ike was less a Midwesterner than a Southern plainsman by birth and early life; Kansas is arguably Midwest but authorities differ. I don't think he had any strong regional identification or affiliation.

Agreed (as usual) with mockturtule. Tulsi Gabbard is not my candidate, but appears far saner and perhaps more authentic than the shapeshifting Amy, the talent-free daughter of an Upper Midwest sportscaster (who somehow avoided my radar screen until the last year; it may have been the ground clutter).
My expectation is that Trump will win in 2020, and we'll have another four years of Trump-schitck.
Trump's legacy may comprise rebalancing the Federal Judiciary to, it is hoped, a critical extent, and more importantly, moving the "Overton Window" to the right regarding what can be mocked in the public square.
If he succeeds in that, it won't be nothing.
Which is precisely what all of these Democrat candidates are.
Pale, stale, and male must go the way of the dinosaurs. The future is female.

I've been told by people from Minnesota that Amy is so well liked in Minnesota because of the residual good will her father possessed - her dad was a sports writer for the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
What happened to Minnesota should stay in Minnesota. Thanks for asking.
The house in on fire, Amy.
I, too, had not noticed the new moderation policy right off. I only noticed that Captcha was gone, and I thought it was just a glitch.
It makes sense, unfortunately. But it will help keep the blog from ending up, as Vaughan-Williams might have put it, In the Fen Country.

I'm a Never-Klobuchar and I'm not going to help her. But I do have a suggestion for the Andrew Yang, my candidate. I think he should promise to seize gas-powered chainsaws, weedwhackers and lawnmowers at the same time as they come for the AR 15s. Because those killing machines are to Mother Gaia what AR-15s are to the human race - instruments of mass destruction in the hands of human supremacists. Why MOW down the beautiful leaves of grass? Why WHACK weeds? (and who says a dandelion is a weed?). And chain saws - well, they're just machine guns against the plant world. So, best to just seize everything at once. First, register these items; then check the Facebook pages of owners for "red flags" - pictures of smooth lawns, immaculate gardens, MAGA hats. Then the buyback, then SWAT. I would hope that my man Andrew is brave enough to propose this simple, obvious step, which I think Dem audiences like the one last night would love.

On the subject of Gabbard, I have to agree, mostly anyway, with tim maguire earlier. I think Tulsi really is less insane than the ten "leading" candidates. Just not that much less insane.
Someone, somewhere suggested Tulsi might make a good vice-president for Trump. I can't imagine what they were smoking.
I think Althouse might have been right a few months ago. Warren might well be the nominee.
