Can we start trying to make Amy happen?

Matt Drudge takes the lead:

My favorite part was when there was all this crosstalk and she busted out with: "A house divided cannot stand!"

I'm thinking, come on, Amy! That can be your trademark! When other people are talking, you just call out an old Lincoln quote: "My Best Friend is a person who will give me a book I have not read!" "I am a slow walker, but I never walk back!" "There are no bad pictures; that's just how your face looks sometimes!" You get the idea.

(I said this first over at Facebook, in a comment on a post by my son John. And I also put it on Twitter.)

She just needs to choose accurate quotes from Lincoln.

Does she even realize it's a quote from the Bible? [Mark 3:25] Lincoln did.

rcocean said...

Her ears are too big. And she eats her salad with a comb - which she always has. Because she always has to comb her hair over her big ears.

That's the most interesting thing about her. Midwestern Bland always loses. Last President from the Midwest? Harding. Ike/Hoover left the Midwest early in life. Ike went to West Point. Hoover to Stanford. And neither went back.

A few years back, at some sort of party confab, Amy announced that she held the Senate record for raising money from ex-boyfriends. She said the House record was held by Barney Frank. Barney didn't think that was very damn funny.

And I worked "A house divided cannot stand" into my soon to be award-winning script "Frankenstein in Love."

Lincoln got that quote from the Bible; Mark 3:25.

"A house divided..." is actually from the Bible. Mark 3:25. Lincoln used it well, though

Bill Peschel said...

The only problem with supporting Amy is that she'll drag behind her the Democratic Party, which is now the party of gun-grabbers, anti-Semites, trash the economy (free health care! free college!), abortions up to the moment of birth, anti-free speech, and open borders.

Maillard Reactionary said...

Isn't she a little bit old to be breaking out?

She should be able to afford to see a dermatologist.

Tyrone Slothrop said...

She could try this one.

“I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races ... I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality.”
Abraham Lincoln, 1858

Or maybe not.

In Amy's first campaign for office (grade school) her campaign slogan was, "All the way with Amy K."

I say, bring it back.

Drago said...

Klobuchar's advisors just figured out that no one, not even Joey Loose Teeth Biden, is even trying to occupy the empty Dem Moderate lane so, since she's got nothing else, Klobuchar might as well slide into it for better or worse and hope for complete left and far left fratricide.

It's a bit disconcerting that one of these 10 losers will get the nomination, and, thus, because of institutional political structures, will have a 50-50 shot at becoming the most powerful man/woman on the planet.

How many trademarks does Amy have if you call her slogan a trademark?

Four. Saying that a slogn is a trademark doesn't make it a trademark.

Amy is the least crazy, and I have liked her ever since the Kavanaugh hearings. But lately she has looked just horrible (all of them looked awful last night - something about the lighting), like she never sleeps and has gained weight, and why that green jacket. I wish she would lose 30 pounds and start dressing like Kamala. I know that's shallow but Trump getting elected as an overweight slob is not the norm.

Reagan left the mid-west in 1935 and spent the rest of his life in California. I consider him a Californian. Truman came from Missouri, a border state. Truman's mother was a Confederate & never got over hating the Yankees. As for Gerald Ford, he was our only un-elected POTUS. And he lost when he ran for President in 1976. Nothing compared to Sarah Palin's flack, but not nothing for a regular person. Way, way more than I couldn't have started to handle.

Blues Traveler – Hook Lyrics
from album: Four (1994)
Music & Lyrics: John Popper

It doesn't matter what I say
So long as I sing with inflection
That makes you feel that I'll convey
Some inner truth of vast reflection
But I've said nothing so far
And I can keep it up for as long as it takes
And it don't matter who you are
If I'm doing my job then it's your resolve that breaks

Because the hook brings you back
I ain't tellin' you no lie
The hook brings you back
On that you can rely

There is something amiss
I am being insincere
In fact I don't mean any of this
Still my confession draws you near
To confuse the issue I refer
To familiar heroes from long ago
No matter how much Peter loved her
What made the Pan refuse to grow

Was that the hook brings you back
I ain't tellin' you no lie
The hook brings you back
On that you can rely

Suck it in suck it in suck it in
If you're Rin Tin Tin or Anne Boleyn
Make a desperate move or else you'll win
And then begin
To see
What you're doing to me this mtv is not for free
It's so pc it's killing me
So desperately I sing to thee
Of love
Sure but also rage and hate and pain and fear of self
And I can't keep these feelings on the shelf
I've tried well no in fact I lied
Could be financial suicide but I've got too much pride inside
To hide or slide
I'll do as I'll decide and let it ride until I've died
And only then shall I abide this tide
Of catchy little tunes
Of hip three minute ditties
I wanna bust all your balloons
I wanna burn all of your cities
To the ground I've found
I will not mess around
Unless I play then hey
I will go on all day hear what I say
I have a prayer to pray
That's really all this was
And when I'm feeling stuck and need a buck
I don't rely on luck because...

The hook brings you back
I ain't tellin' you no lie
The hook...
On that you can rely

Tulsi Gabbard is not my candidate, but appears far saner and perhaps more authentic than the shapeshifting Amy, the talent-free daughter of an Upper Midwest sportscaster (who somehow avoided my radar screen until the last year; it may have been the ground clutter).

My expectation is that Trump will win in 2020, and we'll have another four years of Trump-schitck.

Trump's legacy may comprise rebalancing the Federal Judiciary to, it is hoped, a critical extent, and more importantly, moving the "Overton Window" to the right regarding what can be mocked in the public square.

If he succeeds in that, it won't be nothing.

Which is precisely what all of these Democrat candidates are.

Because those killing machines are to Mother Gaia what AR-15s are to the human race - instruments of mass destruction in the hands of human supremacists. Why MOW down the beautiful leaves of grass? Why WHACK weeds? (and who says a dandelion is a weed?). And chain saws - well, they're just machine guns against the plant world. So, best to just seize everything at once. First, register these items; then check the Facebook pages of owners for "red flags" - pictures of smooth lawns, immaculate gardens, MAGA hats. Then the buyback, then SWAT. I would hope that my man Andrew is brave enough to propose this simple, obvious step, which I think Dem audiences like the one last night would love.
