Anyone who supports a racist or a racist strategy is a racist themselves. 2020 is a moment or reckoning for America. Vote for @realDonaldTrump and you are a racist. Don’t hide it like a coward. Wear that racist badge proudly and see how it feels.

A rabid color judgment. Show me the principles.
You show me someone screaming about racism. I'll show you a racist.
Stick with rubber cement, so to speak.
The more they beat the "racism" drum, the more they show how scared they are that Trump will get an unusual high percentage of the Black vote (for a Republican).
Lockhart by his own logic is a rapist. If I'm generous I'll call him a rape apologist.
Democrats screwed themselves with identity politics. 70% of the country, maybe higher among voters, racially identify as white.
Vote for @realDonaldTrump and you are a racist. Don’t hide it like a coward. Wear that racist badge proudly and see how it feels.
Someone remind Joe Lockhart that the last time people were told to wear a badge it didn't work out so well.
When everything is racist, nothing is racist.
If everyone is a racist, no one is a racist.
The word racist is devoid of any meaning at this point other than - the word leftists use to get you to shut up.
"Anyone who supports a racist or a racist strategy is a racist themselves."
I collect examples of Begging the Question. Thanks, Joe!
Anyone who supports a racist or a racist strategy is a racist themselves.
Everybody is a racist, by transitivity.
anyone who calls someone a racist is themselves a racist.
I’d like to see a $100,000,000.00 ad campaign pounding this home.
The Center-right always suffers from a lack of brains. The way to counter-act false charges of "racism" is to think a word similar to "McCarthyism" and then call the person making the charge that. So, we could call a Lockhart a "racial McCarthyite"
More importantly, can Lockhart explain why the allegedly brilliant Bill Clinton never even noticed that the American worker was getting screwed by our trade deals?
And wasn't one of Clinton's idols a racist US senator from Arkansas?
If this reasoning is valid, then anyone who votes for Biden is a plagiarizing idiot.

OK.
Done.
Lockhart IS a racial McCarthyite.
Under Trump, black unemployment is at 5.9% - a record low..
Which means, under Trump, many more blacks are working and earning money to provide for themselves and their families.
Which means, under Trump, blacks are generally better off, than under the previous administration.
Which means it would be racist to vote against Trump - what kinda racist would seek to thwart this economic progress in the black community?
That's why we hold elections. The founders recognized the need for citizens to be able to prove they meet the moral standards of their betters, right? I mean, why else give people a vote?
Anyone who votes for Elijah Cummings (D-Shit Hole) is a rat lover.
I don't want to vote for a politician because that would make me a politician.

Nothing like our political class. Nothing like it.
I cannot imagine that we won't have a house cleaning in this country at some point.
I can't be surprised that 150 years after the Civil War; Democrats are still running on race.
I said over and over after the 2016 election that condescension is a corrosive attitude and eventually the recipients of the condescension in Flyover country will push back. It appears that those on the Left, instead of using a bit of introspection, have decided to ratchet up the rancor and move on to anger/hatred.
And now they’re getting it back in spades (pun intended).
For those in the middle, the question in 2020 will be “Which angry crowd do I want to join? Or should I just run away?”

What's sad, is that this actually happened to me by a long time friend. We do NOT talk politics when we go out at all, as we both know we won't agree, but have many other things in common. I just got told via FB post from her that because I voted for TRump she has NO ROOM in her heart or in her life for a racist like me. If I vote for him, I must be just like him. I replied.."Wow...so sorry to hear that. I love you anyways." She replied "He’s a racist, a wannabe dictator, a womanizer, a kidnapper... Anyone who is ok with this is not someone I can or want to relate to." To which I replied "Peach and Love" The last words written on this friendship were " Peace and love to you, Wendy, but if you’re a supporter of trump, I have real news for you, that is NOT what he stands for!!!" She had all kinds of friends commenting after about how brave she is, and how woke she is. How wonderful it feels to get rid of family and friends like me....and that she should have done it long ago. I am just happy that I will NEVER be or VOTE for another Democrat in my life since they are so angry and hateful. I'm a live and let live person....
Today I stand as a PROUD RACIST.....at least I'm not a liberal Progressive. THAT would suck.
Is this racist?
The hack-D press are re-writing what she said. Clues.
I'm still trying to figure out who Trump kidnapped!! haha!!
"Vote for @realDonaldTrump and you are a racist. Don’t hide it like a coward. Wear that racist badge proudly and see how it feels."
Sure, the condescension of the racial McCarthyite is stupid. Sure, if everything is racist, nothing is. Sure, progs have as little basis for their racism claims as they do for their collusion claims.
But is it counterproductive? The Universal Theory of Progressive Instrumentalism says that anything progs claim or do is a tool. Racism is just another tool. Does the tool do its job? It's nice and all of Althouse to note the insult glue, but the question is if the Althouses of America will be scared into voting against Trump for fear of being tarred as racist. Althouse herself may vote for Trump out of sheer contrarianness, but I am not so sure about her sisters.
Still, here's hoping that the prog escalation in the culture war will turn off moderate liberals and the few remaining swing voters.
I realize earnestness doesn't play well on the internet. But I have lived my life acting respectfully and charitably to people of other races. And I deeply resent being told by someone who doesn't know me that I am a racist because I don't agree with their political positions.
Our corrupt hack-D press re-writes Trumps tweets and they re-write Omar's tweets - to make sure the context is re-written to communicate to the hiveminders what the hack-D press prefers to convey.
I can't be surprised that 150 years after the Civil War; Democrats are still running on race.
They've just switched on which race they want to subjugate.
What’s “a moment or reckoning?”

Joe Lockbrain is more like it. Like all of the rest of the Democrats, he can FOAD.

Joe Lockhart tweet on "racism" proves that the Democrats are 'Insane'.They simultaneously declare impeachment proceedings must begin now because “no one, not even the President, is above the law,” without offering evidence of a crime beyond existing wrong in their eyes. They also do it while advising illegal aliens on how to thwart our immigration laws and avoid consequences. It seems some people are, in fact, above the law.
The racist dog whistle that only Joe can hear.
Na-Na-Na-Na-Na!
I guess the time for that frank, open, and honest national discussion about race is finally over, huh?
Christianity is not racist . The Holy Spirit loves all people of all races and ethnic cultures. They are all precious in His sight.
And Presbyterians like Donald Trump are 100% Christian.
He's talking about all the democrats that will be voting for Trump this time around, right?

Bay Area Guy: Joe and his ilk would say those jobs are shit and low paying. When Clinton was President, blacks were all bank managers or something.
“And Presbyterians like Donald Trump are 100% Christian.”
Presbyterians are known for their outreach in poor communities. I doubt that they would take Trump’s cue and call the areas in which they serve a “rat infested mess” and that “no human beings would live there”. Who does he thinks live there? Does he not consider them human beings? This may not be racist, but it’s ugly rhetoric that lowers the Office of the Presidency.
Blogger Bay Area Guy said - "....what kinda racist would seek to thwart this economic progress in the black community.....?
a niggard
I think people are taking Lockhart too seriously. Even he must realize that to make such a sweeping condemnation renders the basis of the charge meaningless. He basically just called all Trump voters doodyheads. It’s more a measure of his impotent frustration than anything serious.
Memo for Joe Lockhart:
Okay, Mr. White Virtue Signaling Guy, walk through any of these neighborhoods. Alone. On a Saturday night.
https://www.roadsnacks.net/these-are-the-10-worst-chicago-neighborhoods/
And if you don't...you're a racist.
No one — absolutely no one among the MSM will denounce Lockhart's tweet, even though they all know that this is even more damaging to their cause (whatever the hell that this) than Hillary Clinton's basket of deplorables gaff.
Presbyterians are known for their outreach in poor communities.
Trump's outreach is called record low unemployment... jobs for everybody who wants one.
Methinks FrankiM doesn't know the meaning of would.
Headline: "Clinton Democrat encourages Americans to be proud of racism"
I am so sick of the Democrats' hatred and divisiveness.
This was always going to be the message, but it came out too early.
It was supposed to come out right before the election.
That way, people would have to act out of emotion because there wasn't enough time to think it through.
a “rat infested mess” and that “no human beings would live there”
Perhaps it is "should not" live there. Would, as in people, even in the poorest neighborhoods, will make an effort to develop their space, tend their gardens, as it were.
Trump's outreach is called record low unemployment... jobs for everybody who wants one.
Productivity is the most sustainable form of personal outreach, which mitigates the progress of corruption, dysfunction, and spoiled child syndrome. Men, in particular, as complementary to mothers, do not fare well with idle hands.
Trump is dividing the country.
Chuck Todd was just on TV telling us so.
Trump used to live and flourish in Celebrity World. He went to their parties, their weddings. He hosted SNL on multiple occasions. Surely if he were such a flaming sexist, racist pig, they would have shunned his company. He would have been an outcast in Celebrity World, but he was an honored member.....I used to advance this argument, but given the durable success in Celebrity World of Weinstein, Polanski, and Epstein, I'm not so sure it holds water....I just wish the media would show the same amount of tolerance and forbearance towards Trump that Katie Couric and George Stephanopoulos showed toward Epstein. I know that for political reasons they will not lavish him with the kind of fulsome praise they extended towards Clinton, Conyers, various members of the Kennedy family, but surely it is not asking too much to treat him with the same respect they extended towards Jeffrey Epstein AFTER his conviction.
it’s ugly rhetoric that lowers the Office of the Presidency.
Yes, Hillary would have used such nice rhetoric.
"Christianity is not racist"
Its neither racist nor anti-racist. Oh wait, I just discovered the Zero Commandment in the my Bible. Here it is:
"Thou shalt not be racist. Unless you're black, Hispanic, or Asian".
I knew it was in there somewhere. God moves in mysterious ways.
I have observed well and poorly tended gardens (e.g. family, homes) within a neighborhood. The state of the community reflects its individuals' character. Democrats are making a grievous mistake to reduce this issue to a color judgment. People aren't so naturally diverse without aid.
If you're constantly hearing racist dog-whistles, they're being directed at you.
Christianity does not have principles of diversity. So, no, it does not indulge in color judgments (e.g. racism). It does have principles of character, which tends to harsh some people's mellow.
Trump actually posted a picture, which was pretty bad. What is Cummings doing to help the people in his district? That's Cummings' job.
Trump wants men to "man up", women to "woman up", and to tend their gardens for "the People", "our Posterity", and to promote the general Welfare. He wants the same for the international community, thus the pursuit of emigration reform to mitigate the progress of immigration reform and sustainable "shit shows" (h/t Obama). Some Democrats apparently think that contains diversity undertones.
They’ll wear this one out too, just like “Trump is Hitler”, and then they’ll move on to something else as soon as they receive their marching orders on what to think.
Don’t be a sheeple!
I guess the time for that frank, open, and honest national discussion about race is finally over, huh?
We have never been able to have a discussion that criticizes both Blacks and Whites.

Mostly agree with this. I just don't "deeply resent being told by someone...that I am a racist..." I don't respect said someone enough to resent them or their speech. They're just too stupid to respect.
Now, if said someone is in a position of influence or power, I deeply resent that.

There is no "lowering" possible. You are already at the bottom, with open and relentless, merciless, tribal war.
Nor is there anything left of your old civic culture. Not even your K-12 schools teach it anymore. They too live only for tribalism.
Anyone still thinking that "tone" matters is living in the past, substituting rosy nostalgia for grim reality. The only use of tone-arguments is in the disingenuous exploitation of these vulnerable people who are not au courant.
Those poor fools imagine the world of 1976, refusing to acknowledge the reality of the present, which is the year zero. And those that exploit these deluded types are all liars.

Even Trump still pretends to value your old values. Or to assume that they carry some weight, anyway. He implies that someone somewhere still has a sense of shame. I don't think such a creature exists, anymore. Every last thing is, at bottom, a matter of interests, not ideals.
He is in no way as grim as reality demands. He too, being an old man, may be living in the past, or perhaps this too is just for effect. Disingenuous rhetoric fighting disingenuous rhetoric.

White progressives who choose to live in places where a black & brown sub class does their dirty work.
Lockhart's tweet reminds me of a Jacob Weisberg article in Slate eleven years ago. I thought it was appalling at the time. An "older white male" (which I was then and still am now) couldn't possibly dislike Obama for his politics. Or dislike him for his inexperience. Or dislike him for the hype surrounding his candidacy. No, no, it had to be because the "older white male" is too racist to vote for the black-skinned one.
It was appalling then and of course still is. I just deeply resent the "soapbox privilege" gifted to clowns like Lockhart and Weisberg.

The point of their rage is to make you too scared to continue doing what enrages them.
You need not go out of your way to look for it.
They're doing everything they can to deliver the message to your home and place of business.
Every last thing in public discourse, and much in private discourse, is instrumental.
There is a reason for it beyond the simple expression of personal ideas.
The specific purpose of anything in particular may not be apparent, but it is safe to assume there is some calculation behind it, however erroneous or counterproductive it may prove to be.
Yeah, it's pretty sad. We have been friends for about 20 years seeing each other often. The husbands are still friends. So at least there's that!! I still don't hate her....I will just stay back and let her hate.....
A couple of my kids are leftists although they seem to be mellowing. My older son, a trial lawyer with a crazy left wife, does not say much anymore. He used to ridicule Orange County as too conservative. Now that he has two kids, he wants to move back there. His brother says that his leftism is mostly reaction to me as conservative (actually libertarian) and says the only way his brother would turn conservative is if I announced that I was a communist. So much of this stuff is personal and not even ideology,
The "race card" is a magic "E-rase" card which wipes out all your own defects and bounces them back onto your accuser. For instance, if you have never worked to lower levels of rat infestation in the neighborhoods of your poorer constituents you can wipe all that out by playing the "E-rase" card and magically your neglect becomes racism in the person who pointed out the rats. And the rats stay. Since number of rats correlates with number of bureaucrats which is as the cube of the number of socialists, this is good. Or, at any rate, inevitable. See ten rattiest cities and correlate with socialists, bureaucrats, rats and the use of the "E-rase" card.
10 rattiest cities in 2017 all run by veiled socialist, i.e. Dem, politicians and openly socialist bureaucrats for years
Chicago
New York
Los Angeles
San Francisco – Oakland
Washington, DC
Philadelphia
Detroit
Baltimore
Seattle – Tacoma
Dallas – Ft. Worth
Trump's plan seems to be turning the left's hate meter to 11.
Then he'll run on Love Trumps Hate.
Which will cause the left to implode.
The only way to even begin to assume sincerity in any public expression, is if it risks "lives, fortunes and sacred honor". And even then one has to inquire whether this risk is real.
After all, "The Blaze" asserts this, without mentioning who subsidizes them.
Every Democrat thinks in rhetorical fallacies, and generally not even the more creative ones. It's how they sustain their world view.
We have never been able to have a discussion that criticizes both Blacks and Whites.
I have had a few such discussions with black physicians I have known. One, a fellow surgery resident, told me that he was elected Student Body President at UCLA just because he was black. He was a great guy, sadly died in freak accident. Another, who I worked with at the recruit center in LA. I gave him a copy of "The3 10,000 mYear Explosion," which is about evolution. He told me he bought copies for his two daughters. I told him Farrakhan was right about whites being "Ice People" because, as human left Africa and went north, they suffered from Vitamin D deficiency and their skin lightened to absorb more vitamin D. All humans evolved lighter skin the further north they lived.
We did not talk about IQ but these were all people on the right tail of the distribution and knew it,
Then he'll run on Love Trumps Hate. Which will cause the left to implode.

Lockhart I believe is a senior executive at Oracle, which btw is dark magic conjured up on mount doom as concerning payroll.
What’s amazing, to me, in Lockhart’s reasoning is how it really isn’t reasoning at all, it’s name-calling. This is the Left’s only argument today. I am not exaggerating. They have one card to play and it sure isn’t arising from human reason.
Yes, M Jordan, look at the editorial page of your local paper, take out the name calling, and there isn't much left. I don't know if it is the same on the pro-Trump side as it is on the anti-Trump side, because my local paper has never printed a pro-Trump editorial. It's sole "conservative" columnist is George Will, who opposes Trump with name calling. The local paper occasionally carries "moderate" Kathleen Parker's column, and she also opposes Trump by name calling.
The assumption Joe seems to be making here is that there exists even a single Republican who accepts Joe's opinion or moral authority on any subject whatsoever.
In actuality, Joe is just signaling to other Democrats that they are morally superior.
Sad.
We have an ENORMOUS Black Conservative congregation south of here. They're not shy about their conservatism either. It has been my life experience that Christian religion/work ethic is the seed of conservative people of color. I would have to say that the Mulatto Messiah was what the dems/MSM rolled out for the blacks and he was an epic failure. Kept the lot of 'em on welfare, with no chance of gettin over. Took the Orange man to give em a shot at the brass ring. The Soetoro kid climbed over their bodies into the white guy's pocketbook. This is not unnoticed. Will be an interesting election indeed. Lets get ready to rumble!
Wendy, she wasn't much of a friend then, was she? Shake the dust off your coat and march on.
There is more than one way to skin a cat.
Lewis Wetzel .... same with my local paper of a town of 35,000 which voted for Trump. But libs run the town.
I look forward to the first President when told that Black unemployment is down, or Hispanic graduation rates are up, or more women died in combat, say's "don't care." How many Americans are unemployed? How many Americans are graduating? How many Americans are dying in combat? That's what matters.
I'm looking forward to the first President who says to hell with identity politics. We need a guy who decides what's good for Americans in economic, education, immigration, and foreign policy.
Here's Lockhart (on the left) and Ben Shapiro (I think) discussing the Joe's latest tweet.

Sadly, no. I have and I am marching on. I just don't get people. How do you turn on and off your friendships just because you don't like the way somebody voted. That to me is just whacked, but what do I know. The older I get, the more I want to spend my time with my pets!! haha!!!
Hilarious. The last time I heard from Joe Lockhart he had just been fired by the NFL for helping craft the kneeling policy and recommending to the NFL commissioner to clap back at Trump. How did that work out for the NFL? Joe was fired immediately after the 2017 season if memory serves me. Perhaps Joe is nursing a wound over that?

Going with rcocean's idea, I've come up with something, a word that may work and is easy to remember.
ALINSKYITE.
A definition might be, one who is ALINSKYISED, by means of education, propaganda, the MSM, political correctness, the politics of meaning, the crowd, aka the street mob (ANTIFA, OCCUPY WALL STREET, ect) is a person who lies, defames. threatens another with personalized negative buzz words in order to shout down and deny free speech to an opposing political view not in lock step with their own.
All of your commentors are so much better at this than I am, and probably can come up with a more succinct definition for an
ALISKYITE.
Fine. I'm a racist.
What else you got?
This may not be racist, but it’s ugly rhetoric that lowers the Office of the Presidency.
Yeah. Maybe Trump should've called them deplorable. Or bitter clingers.
Maybe he should've told us to punch back twice as hard. Or get in their faces. Bring a gun if they bring a knife. Or, wait. Maybe he could be rewarding his friends and punishing his enemies.
Those things would certainly raise the Office of the Presidency, no?
Don't like ugly rhetoric from a Republican? Tough.
ALINSKYIT is a good one.
The party of anti-Semitism is calling Trump supporters racist. Marvelous (said with a Billy Crystal voice).
I just don't get people. How do you turn on and off your friendships just because you don't like the way somebody voted. That to me is just whacked, but what do I know.
The Left has been saying for years that "The personal is political." They mean it. The Left wants a government that is so large and so intrusive into every sphere of life that there is no place left where you can be a private person.
Think of it. How you raise your children, how you relate to your husband or wife, when, where and how you work, whether you worship or not and what you're allowed to worship, .... All of this is, to a Leftist, grist for the political mill. Your entire life, even your thoughts, are belong to them. It's tyranny on a scale undreamed of even by the most fervent Nazi or Stalinist.
Not every leftist understands where the policies he or she advocates inevitably lead. But that does not make them any less dangerous. What does help is that, due to their poor understanding of human nature, leftists usually aren't very good at implementing their grandiose plans, and the political structures they erect to run things usually devolve into corruption and rent-seeking pretty quickly.
"Apparently, it's not too late to recapture the joys of childmind:"
As in - "I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will have Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words." ~Donald Trump
"Aye,aye", I say - but isn't obvious lying a childish trait as well?
I'd be ashamed if they didn't call me a racist.
"Anyone who supports a racist or a racist strategy is a racist themselves."
Can't really argue with that, but who is the racist, and what is the racists strategy? I just need some specifics, you know, some facts - the stuff intelligent adults use.
If they don't call you a racist, you're just furniture, background, scenery.
This Lockhart stuff is dangerous. My fear is that the Left is going to be very violent in the next year, and their targets will take it for some time but will ultimately have to fight back to protect themselves. The Big Media will side with the Left, the pattern will repeat and the whole thing will spiral out of control. Scary to think about.
Anyone who voted for Hillary is a pantsuit-and-Depends-wearing war criminal who can't stand on "their" own two feet, is too frail to be awakened at 3:00 a.m., and doesn't understand how the Electoral College works.
"bagoh20 said...
. . . and what is the racists strategy?"
I think that a racist strategy would be say to voters, "You need to consider how you racially identify yourself and then vote for (or against) this slate of candidates."
I suspect this is another one of Trump’s Sunday tweets that sends the Big Media into a frenzy. By the time the dust settles late Monday (definitely by Tuesday) people will start to look at Elijah Cummings. We’ll start looking at his grandstanding with the border chaos, the condition of his district, his love of BLM, etc. And then people will start to say “Huh, that’s interesting...” just like they did with The Squad.
If I had a nickel for every white person that claimed that they're not racist, I'd be rich. Just as I'd go to a podiatrist if I had a foot problem, I'd ask my African-American friends if I feared encroaching on their feelings or my girls if I thought that I was being sexist. I don't know if Trump is racist, I've never met the man, but it looks like he's counting on the inhabitants of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania to be in 2020. Now it's on them to prove he's wrong.
Well golleee! Who gives a flying flip what Joe Lockhart (or any other proud progressive) tweets or says?
As for "racist" all that means these days is that someone disagrees with you.
Racism is just a subset of bigotry.
The best medical teaching school, Johns Hopkins, is in Elijah Cummings district, and his constituents make $10K above the median wage. Maybe the chito in chief is confusing them for the $0.5M in slums his daddy gave him.
"The party of anti-Semitism is calling Trump supporters racist. Marvelous (said with a Billy Crystal voice)."
The Democrats may be just as objectionable as the Republicans, but how are they anti-semitic?
Esox -
You simply don’t ask these things.
You lead, if you will, by leading.
Or you seduce by seducing.
Asking about offenses and feelings is weak.
This just invites whining.
cummings was equally dismissive of romney seven years ago, recall they already had his taxes, but harry reid proceded to lie about them anyways, and biden said African americans would be in chains if romney won, homicide and the wire, depicted Baltimore with the detail of a monet,
Johns Hopkins was in Cummings district long before it was Cummings district, in any sense.
Much like USC was in its neighborhood long before it turned into THAT neighborhood.
The proper approach is to assume we, each of us, is a mass of sins.
We are all racists, inherently by some definition or other, and if we have any worth we will remain so.
Anyone that can be certified as non racist, or non-anything, is inherently worthless through the lack of a spine.
Jellyfish-men.
"ALINSKYITE."

Funny. Barack Obama certainly knew who he was.

"Barack Obama's training in Chicago by the great community organizers is showing its effectiveness. It is an amazingly powerful format, and the method of my late father always works to get the message out and get the supporters on board. When executed meticulously and thoughtfully, it is a powerful strategy for initiating change and making it really happen. Obama learned his lesson well.
I am proud to see that my father's model for organizing is being applied successfully beyond local community organizing to affect the Democratic campaign in 2008. It is a fine tribute to Saul Alinsky as we approach his 100th birthday."

Odd isn't it how many folks recognize Trump as a racist, some have even left the Republican Party over it.
Robert Cook...Anyone familiar with the tatics of Obama and Hillary Clinton, the DNC, "the squad" and ANTIFA, just to mention a few, has had exposure to Saul Alinksy. Anyone who has followed any political discourse over the past 45 years, since the counter culture started to infiltrate our education system and rewrite the history of the United States, such as Howard Zinn, has had more than a passing acquaintance to Alinksy. How fortunate for you that you've learned something "new" about tactics that have been applied to undermine our constitutional republic by using our own freedoms to undermine the United States.
We are all learning so many new things everyday, here at Althouse and on the internet.
"Inquiring minds want to know", to borrow a phrase.

We gave Nadler and his Trump hating Dems the complete Mueller Report (we didn’t have to), and even Mueller himself, but now that both were a total BUST, they say it wasn’t good enough. Nothing will ever be good enough for them. Witch Hunt!

Some of your best friends, black no doubt.

Another new troll! They are in bloom since Meulkler flopped,.
By those standards used against Trump every last reader of Althouse is just as racist. Or more so.
Indeed, this definition covers just about every citizen of the US no matter their politics. Or every human being.
Granted, many of these people are not curious enough to examine their own minds with sufficient brutality to learn the truth about themselves. Indeed, most of us have many more sins, in thought if not deed, and much worse ones, than ordinary racism.

I had no idea that Elijah Cummings was responsible for JHU having a med school. Impressive!

EsoxLuciius: "If I had a nickel for every white person that claimed that they're not racist, I'd be rich."
Naw, you'd still be a self-righteous poser. Social Justice Warriors like EsoxL are completely unnerved by the possibility that someone, somewhere, may be independent, secure in his moral compass and not needful of a second opinion regarding his virtue. I'm one of those people. I personally have no one in my circle of friends who I consider to be racist, and, being pure of heart, I will volunteer to passoxL judgement as to whether he is, in fact, a racial bigot and/or a sexist. He can quit annoying his AA acquaintances and his daughters, who I am sure give his queries the deserved eye roll. My initial thoughts are he's probably both because he seems overly fixated on convincing others that he's one woke MFer.

It's amazing how this works.
If it was a cracka congressman that represented a shithole district filled with coloreds and Trump called him out, would that still be raycisss? I cant keep up with the bullshit anymore.
roesch/voltaire can always be counted on to add his vapid and utterly uninteresting two cents worth.
Gramsci did not invent the theory of cultural hegemony nor that of “the long march” (which he didn’t name either), though he described both.
His work was not published until both processes, in terms of leftist ideology becoming the intellectual-institutional norm, were well advanced.
He did however create the frame with which this stuff was seen in retrospect, by both the left and right.
Cultural hegemony became quite a popular trope on the intellectual left for a couple of decades. It’s since become somewhat passé, possibly because of the effects of the “long march”. It’s hard to complain about hegemony when you are the hegemon.
It’s not racist to blame Elijah Cummings for conditions in his district, but it is kind of sexist. Give ex-mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake her due for her ability to boost the murder rate in Bodymore way above what it was in the days of The Wire.

I couldn't agree with the wise buwaya more.
Self-examination is essential if we are to "take the plank out of our own eye" in regard to our own individual life.
Still, I don't like being pushed around by bullies in masks, or ignorant people elected to public office by an ignorant electorate.
If anything, President Trump and Althouse has helped to educate with tweets and a blog.
Push back against the ALINSKYITES.
Let's brand them with a name that represents a reprehensible mob.
A latter-day development of Gramsci (and others) can be seen in Hardt&Negri, “Empire”
It was almost definitional of the leftist position post-Soviet collapse.
It was quite popular in its time, nearly two decades back.
It is perhaps more interesting now, that so much has changed.
Worth a read.
""If I had a nickel for every white person that claimed that they're not racist, I'd be rich."
Yea, funny how that happens if go around calling every one you meet a "racist". You get the same kind of denial if you call them "Shirley". I wonder why you never considered that. Is it racist bigotry that's got you blinded?
No Lenin, figured after the failure of direct action on the part of the social revolutionaries, while he was in exile in Switzerland, he tired of the debating societies that the socialist factions had become, likewise Gramsci pondered while he was imprisoned in Mussolini's prisons, Ignazio Silone by contrast, their orwell, isn't spoken nearly enough,

Has anyone here ever seen Saul Alinsky, listened to him talk, read his book?
He was a very pursuasive thug, a Tony Soprono type character of his time.
His book, RULES FOR RADICALS has the following dedication:
"Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins — or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer."
Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama used and promoted Saul Alinsky methods.
His road is the one to perdition.
I'm not going down that one.

R/V will respond as all white democrat plantation owners respond: those aren't "real" hispanics and blacks.
Can't think of any more racist strategy than the one the Democrats are pursuing.
Hillary did her college thesis on Saul Alinsky. She is on record that she considered him her inspiration.
That thesis is locked up tighter than Obama's college records. One wonders why that is, if Alinsky doesn't matter.

The Center-right always suffers from a lack of brains. The way to counter-act false charges of "racism" is to think a word similar to "McCarthyism" and then call the person making the charge that. So, we could call a Lockhart a "racial McCarthyite"
All of your commentors are so much better at this than I am, and probably can come up with a more succinct definition for an
ALI(N)SKYITE."
Shorter definition: Bigot.
Please keep the hippies and the commies off the Texas ranch.
Liberals can stay in New York.
Thanks.
His tweet is extremely critical and angry. It's an ALL CAPS sort of thing. He really should chill out. Maybe he has a borderline personality or something...
AND this guy also stated that Jeffrey Epstein was not part of Bill Clinton's "inner circle"! REALLY???!!!
This failure to counter-attack when falsely charged with Racism, lets the Left get away with Murder. That's why the liberal/Left NEVER allows themselves to put in defensive situations. They were soft on communism, but hey don't call them that! Because if you do, that's McCarthyism or Red-baiting which is even WORSE then loving Comrade Stalin!
Meanwhile, the Center-right when called "racist" keeps saying stuff like "Hey, no one hates racism more than me" Or "Ha,ha, look at my track record I'm totally not racist" or "MY best friends are black" Or 'Here's my 42 page memorandum proving in great detail and with Aristotelian logic why I"m not a racist".
And all the Left does is...say "No, you're a racist". Meanwhile they keep expanding the definition of what is "racist". It never ends. Because you need to counter-attack - like Trump, not play defense.
Lifted from Insty:
"I appeared on CNN Monday night to discuss the firestorm over the president’s caustic tweets last weekend criticizing the four most progressive members of the House of Representatives. I deemed the tweets illogical and shrill, and said so on Twitter and on Anderson Cooper’s show. I also pointed out that the overreaction from Democratic politicians and their media allies revealed a hysterical attempt to castigate the president as prejudiced. I cited the incredibly incendiary accusation of my CNN colleague Wajahat Ali who retweeted an article and its headline: “Trump is a racist. If you still support him, so are you.”
Such an immense and broad condemnation of tens of millions of Americans represents, itself, an intensely bigoted tactic. After all, utterly dismissing wide swaths of our society just because they do not share prescribed political preferences represents a wholesale effort to delegitimize and dehumanize; it’s a classic tactic to “otherize,” to borrow a term from the left. Paradoxically, liberals like Ali unveil their own inherent and systemic bigotry by belittling their fellow citizens, merely on the grounds of policy differences. Rather than engage and debate and persuade, the intolerant left chooses the politics of vilification. Their rash judgment deems the “unwashed rabble” of our America First movement as deplorables and racists, simpletons unworthy of real consideration.
When I pointed out this clear chasm between their professed tolerance and real-world bigotry, Mr. Ali admonished me, stating that white Trump supporters “will never love you … no matter how hard you try to be the Latin face of Trump, they will never love you.” This CNN commentator and New York Times writer shamelessly employed an old racist trope, essentially calling me an “Uncle Tom” for daring to be brown and pro-America First. His demeaning comment attempted to remove me of my agency and castigate me as some supplicant intent on pleasing my white betters.
In actuality, I do not view all politics, as Ali does, through the narrow prism of race, and I regard myself as an American citizen and a grown man with his own thoughts. Despite Ali’s disparagement, I am not a caricature seeking the ratification of whites. In fact, I care very little about anyone’s skin color and instead aggressively argue for a new American nationalism that rejects tribalism and instead focuses on citizenship and rejects globalism."
sing it.
Russia, Russia, Russia! Eh, what? OK. Racist, racist, racist. The Dems have got nothing, and if they lose in 2020 the party will probable split into progressive and traditional wings.
"I'd ask my African-American friends"
I believe that is called a 'tell'. Something only a racist would say.

If I have steak to share, join me as a friend. No harm done. Sorry steak.

"Anyone who supports a racist or a racist strategy is a racist themselves."
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
“If everyone is a racist, no one is a racist”
This doesn’t make any sense. If everyone is a racist, then everyone is a racist.

Well, that's simple enough. Anyone who supports a Christian or a Christian strategy is a Christian themselves.
“Anyone who calls someone a racist is themselves a racist”
This also makes no sense. I call Hitler a racist. That makes me a racist?
