The Great Blackface Scare of 2019 reaches Katy Perry.

Do you see the (non)problem?

"In order to be respectful and sensitive the team is in the process of pulling the shoes," a spokesperson said, quoted in The Guardian.

Now, both shoes have blue eyes, and the lips are identical. The facial features are the same, and they're put on 2 different colors of shoes. Would it have been better to only have the light-colored shoes? Is every black face blackface? Is the light one also blackface? Are full red lips to become impermissible?

No one needs shoes with a face on them. They're obviously intended to be light-hearted and fun. Once you decide you want faces on shoes, do you think about racial inclusivity? If you have the beige ones, shouldn't you want black ones too? I'd have suggested non-skin-tone-related colors — like purple and green — but the 2 colors you see there are very common colors for shoes.

But it's interesting how what might have been an effort at inclusivity backfired. Was there also criticism of the blue eyes on the black face? And what about the sexual harassment problem? The shoes are able to look up your skirt.

I'm offended as a woman. Those shoes are peering up my skirt.

There's nothing wrong with blackface in the first place, so any analysis is going to be idiotic.

Look what the left are doing to our nation?

Katy is a loyal democrat, she was a loyal Hillary devotee - and now look. Her face shoes are considered offensive to the tribe. Mind-crime... it creeps.

Eyes that follow you around the room would be nice.

The black one looks like an African mask, and the light brown one looks like an Aztec mask. Cultural appropriation by a pasty white girl.

The light brown one also looks like an AOC mask.

Ah, it's been all downhill for Katy since her ill-fated affair with Elmo.

I found them offensively ugly, not because of any blackface.

I saw a painting of some Carver guy in blackface. I tore it down and set it on fire. Damn racists.

What if the default shoe is the one on the left? Then the one on the right is whiteface.

It's white supremacy to assume the black shoe is just a colored-over white one.

I don't know about anyone else but I am very confident that once we hunt down and destroy all black face, smash up all confederate monuments and statues, excise all confederate names from our public buildings, change all the pictures on the currency, give all the Oscars, Grammys, Tonys, and Emmys to blacks, cast blacks in all the prominent television, screen, and stage roles, and find whoever beat up that Empire actor, then blacks will stop dropping out of high school, stop knocking up women and then splitting, and stop committing insanely high levels of crime. Mark my word. It will happen. Any minute now. Right around the corner.

Why are shoes like cartoons?

A guide:

A cartoon with a black person is an offensive racist stereotype. Always.

A cartoon with a white person is a cartoon.

Those shoes really ARE ugly.

But taking a cue from VA politicians, the shoes should simply refuse to be “pulled”. They should continue keeping themselves “on sale.”

"Would it have been better to only have the light-colored shoes?"

No. That would be racist, implying that only light tones are fashionable.

(They'll stone you when you're trying to be so good....But I would not feel so all alone. Everybody must get stoned.)

In the early years of her marriage, Duchess Kate was famous for wearing shoes called "nude." How racist is that?
She hasn't bothered to put weights in her hems like the Queen does, so she keeps showing as much as a shoe camera would when the wind blows. Yesterday, I saw a long page of Pinterest pics of her pushing down her skirt, or not.

One day soon, when Beto or Harris, Warren, or one of them is finally President- Scandalous rants by people like Mr. J. Farmer will be dealt with in a proper manner. Re education, public shaming, and public contrition. Like the Chinese did in the 60's and 70's. Oh wait, we have Twitter and FB and the media now. Much faster and more reliable than the 'old' ways.
Does the left ever have fun?? Other than when they tear down others, it seems they don't. How sad.

But it's interesting how what might have been an effort at inclusivity backfired.

Efforts at "inclusivity" always backfire, because the ostensible purpose is not the real purpose. Or rather, they "backfire" on the intended victims, not the activists of inclusivity. It doesn't backfire on the latter; they get exactly what they want out of the game.

So, no, it's not interesting, or ironic. The purpose of "inclusivity" is to replace one set of "excluders" with another set, while wrecking lives and careers of the enemy for shits and grins along the way.

An entirely different game from just wanting to open up an organization to qualified and interested people from outside established employment networks.

Do you see the (non)problem?

Yes, we do! The (non)problem is that the Left has created a very extensive list of racially insensitive micro-aggressions. And, if you're a straight, white male and you violate any items on the very extensive list of racially insensitive micro-aggressions, oh boy, you are in trouble!

Remember the DC budget staffer who used the word, "niggardly" when discussing the spending priorities and was forced to resign?

So, by codifying this very extensive list of racially insensitive micro-agressions, a funny thing happens -- nice, white, Democrats also step on the mines and get blown up.

Even aspiring shoe saleswomen like Katy Perry. Even Virginia politicians like the Governor and Attorney General, who thought it was once funny to wear blackface and moonwalk at parties!

So, until the Left repeals the very extensive live of racially insensitive micro-aggressions, well, I reckon we will force them to live by their standards a la Saul Alinsky.

In other news, Governor Blackface isn't going anywhere.

As I predicted.

There is a new poll being waved by Mo Elleithee and others saying 60% of black Virginians don't think he should be removed, so the Dems should all pump the brakes and listen to the people.

Of course, no one is saying where it came from or rushing to validate it.

How...convenient.

Even if true, the idea of racism by poll should be appalling to everyone.

So long as “blackface” is allowed to mean “white person has something on their face that makes it darker,” we’re going to suffer through inanities like what we’ve seen the last couple weeks.

We need to stop letting activitsts desperate for relevance and a bit of fame define our words for us. We need to give them actual meanings that capture the intent they are supposed to describe.
