That's Fake news. No President has the power to revoke anyone's citizenship.

The claim Pompeo made was that she wasn't born a citizen, because her father was a foreign diplomat at the time, and under the 14th Amendment he wasn't under the jurisdiction of the US. ERGO his daughter is not a citizen.

So...not a revocation, a never was.

https://www.navytimes.com/news/your-navy/2019/02/21/prosecutors-coast-guard-officer-plotted-to-murder-innocent-civilians/

A U.S. Coast Guard officer is a self-proclaimed white supremacist who drafted a hit list of prominent Democrats and media personalities, part of a plot to “murder innocent civilians on a scale rarely seen in this country,” federal prosecutors wrote in a court filing this week.

Lt. Christopher Paul Hasson was arrested Feb. 15 on firearm and opioid possession charges, but a filing Monday in U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland warns that those alleged violations “are the proverbial tip of the iceberg.”

“The defendant is a domestic terrorist, bent on committing acts dangerous to human life,” prosecutors wrote.

Inga...Allie Oop said...

“According to prosecutors, Hasson described himself “as a White Nationalist for over 30 years and advocated for ‘focused violence’ in order to establish a white homeland.”

How strange that we didn’t hear about this from the DOJ or some federal source.

Inga...Allie Oop said...

“Hasson conducted online searches for pro-Russian, neo-fascist and neo-Nazi literature between 2017 and 2019, and took inspiration from the manifesto of Anders Breivik, a far right-wing domestic terrorist who killed 77 people — mostly children — in two coordinated attacks in Norway in 2011, according to the filing.

Hasson’s online activity since January 2017 showed him conducing internet searches for phrases such as, “most liberal senators,” “where do most senators live in dc,” “do senators have ss [secret service] protection” and “are supreme court justices protected,” the filing states.

He also searched for MSNBC host and former Republican congressman Joe Scarborough “after viewing a headline claiming that Scarborough referred to the President as ‘the worst ever,’” according to the filing.

Prosecutors contend that on Jan. 17, Hasson also “compiled a list of prominent Democratic Congressional leaders, activists, political organizations, and MSNBC and CNN media personalities,” according to the filing.

Hasson’s hit allegedly included “gillibran” — prosecutors say it’s presumably U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York — as well as “poca warren,” perhaps Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, plus “Sen blumen jew,” a slur for Sen. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, among others, according to the filing.

Gillibrand and Warren are seeking the Democratic presidential nomination.“

Inga...Allie Oop said...

“The same day he made the list, prosecutors say Hasson used the search engine Google for the following phases:

“what if trump illegally impeached”
“best place in dc to see congress people”
“where in dc to (sic) congress live”
“civil war if trump impeached.”

Sounds like some comments I’ve read right here in the comments sections.

This sounds to me that someone has finally realized that civilized society needs common behavioral rules in order to exist.

Inga...Allie Oop said...

“Hasson wrote that “liberalist/globalist ideology” was destroying “traditional peoples” and warned that “much blood will have to be spilled to get whitey off the couch,” prosecutors wrote.

According to the court filing, he added, “For some no amount of blood will be enough” because they "will die as will the traitors who actively work toward our demise. Looking to Russia with hopeful eyes or any land that despises the west’s liberalism.””

Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, just back in court after lung cancer surgery, wrote the majority opinion and announced it from the bench.

I used to have a cat named Frisky, but I rarely name rats unless they are part of a mob.

"Rats," of course, is a an important part of the mobster rule: "Never rat on your friends, and always keep your mouth shut."

Donald often slips back into this slang when he falls back to his days of rubbing shoulders with the Cosa Nostra mobs of New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia.

Remember when the president attacked his former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, in a tweet, calling him a "Rat." Cohen, who pleaded guilty to campaign finance and other violations, claimed that Trump "directed" him to make hush money payments to two women out of concern about how the allegations of the affairs would affect the 2016 election if they became public.

"Rat" Trump works for me.

@wholelottasplainin’, you ain’t from around these parts, are you?

Arlington is a close-in suburb of Washington, DC — in fact it once was part of the District of Columbia many years ago. Between government jobs in Washington, Defense jobs in the nearby Pentagon, government jobs in Arlington itself, and government contracting jobs the employment rate for anyone already living in Arlington with any job skills at all is so close to 100% as makes no difference. So it’s not as though there are local people desperate for work. Meanwhile the traffic during rush hour is already second only to LA in its approximation to total gridlock. Where will the people live? Homes hastily thrown up during WWII and likely to blow over in a strong enough wind go for well north of $700,000. If you don’t believe me just get on realtor.com. How will they get to work if the streets are already packed and the subway is as unreliable as Washington’s Metro is?

Arlington does not need an Amazon campus. I could support it wholeheartedly if they put it in Sterling, or Ashburn, or Hayfield or Chantilly or Stafford County or Fauquier County, But for God’s sake NOT Arlington.

You might think it a great idea to give Bezos all sorts of goodies that the little people don't get, but I don't. If AOC can kill Amazon in Arlington, please bring her here.

It took painstaking work but it looked real compare that with pearl harbor which tried a similar ensemble nearly 30 years later.

Since there was a two minute hate against John Wayne from 1971! Its notable his part in a lesser noticed war film in harm's way, based on a novel by James Bassett directed by otto preminger it's not a rah rah type film he plays a navy captain who's life is turned up side DOJ by pearl harbor because he dis the right thing? As well as a host of other characters.

What is it you think they are given by "lucky to be here" NYC oh repetitious one?

I don't see how it financially helps Arlington Co. that much, since few of the employees will be able to afford to live in it and there's little room for new housing. It'll produce higher property taxes from the aging high rises of Crystal City, which I've heard has vacancies (possibly because of the traffic).

Perhaps they can put half the employees on the graveyard shift.

Exciting in the Russia/collusion front today:
- Bruce Ohr apparently delivered his wife's research for Fusion GPS to the FBI before the filing of the Carter Page FISA warrant application was filed. Including material from Darth Blumenthal and Cody Sherrer, and the press, this apparently makes at least five instances where Clinton funded opposition research was delivered to or acquired by the FBI during summer and fall of 2016.
- McCabe essentially shot himself in the foot by going on TV to promote his book. He essentially admitted lying to Congress, can't get his stories straight, and admitted to violating his oath of office.
- Rosenstein has announced that he will leave next month, and his successor has already been named.
- A lot of rumors today that Mueller is shutting his investigation down. Looks like his feet were out to the fire by Whitaker, and now AG Barr. And was told that open ended fishing expeditions are not allowed by IC rules. Rosenstein was covering for him. That is over now, and hence, the strong rumor that the investigation will likely be over w/I a couple of weeks, likely before Rosenstein leaves.
- DoJ IC rules don't call for an IC to report to Congress or the people, but rather the AG (Barr), who gets to decide what to report and what not to. Which very likely means that the Dems are not going to get all of the anti Trump innuendo that they have been expecting. Schiff, etc, are likely going to be quite torqued by that. My guess is that the report won't do much beyond what the Senate just announced: no Trump/Russia collusion found.

I think the lip sync for Toshiro Mifune was done by Paul Fries.

Paul Frees did much more voice-over and dubbing work than conventional acting. He was also the voice of Boris Badinov and Fearless Leader. It's possible Frees got the job dubbing Mifune because millions of moviegoers were already conditioned to accept his "oriental" voice as stereotypical because of the many Toho Kaiju movies he worked on for King Brothers Productions.

The taxpayers of New York weren't giving Amazon anything. They were forgoing future corporate taxes so that there would be more income taxes from the new worlforce. New York stood to lose nothing and gain 25,000 new txpayers.

I am against Amazon getting a special, carved out, tax break to locate anything, anywhere.

Gee, I own a small business. Where is my tax break? And where are the tax breaks for my other fellow business owners? The logic for the tax break escapes me.

25,00 jobs? They will be created somewhere, wherever Amazon decides to plant their flag.

Want to create jobs? Lower everyone's taxes.

Screw Amazon.

Without looking at more than a few seconds of Fung, I think what you're talking about is ultra low carb. I don't know how low you had to go, but I think low-carb works at least at first, but eventually your body figures out how to maintain its weight and also you can just get dispirited about the way you're having to eat. So what do you do after the quick weight loss to keep it all from coming back? Is the maintenance that you have to do on low carb just too sad to keep up?

Ann Althouse said...

I chose to put it back.

I do choose to use only the more unobtrusive ad format. I could have ads between the posts (like Instapundit), but I hate how that looks.

There are different ways to be a professional writer — or somewhere on the continuum between professional and amateur — and as readers you probably don't understand where I feel that I am and where I want to be.

Pro tip: Basing your politics and attitudes on the color of your skin isn’t just wrong and dangerous when white people do it.

I rarely even see ads. It's like those traffic signs that they put up in Madison that flash your speed at you. After a short while, I stop looking, just part of the background view that my brain doesn't have to process.

100% of people in opposition to the NYC Amazon site don't do tech work, can't do tech work, and are proud of it. The alternative is that they are in some other city. Or that they are lunatics.

How F-ing bad would I or hundreds of my NY tri-state metro area friends and colleagues have loved to kill each other getting VP jobs at AMZN? Even libby types have, if for a moment, had the wool pulled from their eyes over this crisis. Look for some incumbents to lose next chance they get.

FTR, New York wasn't going to pay Amazon a penny. They were just going to collect $7 billion instead of $10 billion in taxes over the next interval. Amazon is (WAS, damn you) going to spend more than that on roads and subways in the vicinity. People like this should be under guardianship.

Jesus was guilty. He was God-Man full of sin and he was tried, convicted and executed by his father whom forsooked him on Mt Carmel with the two other criminals. In this way, the Christ bought and paid for our get out of hell free card.

"Rats," of course, is a an important part of the mobster rule

Gadfly, I'll let Althouse do the OED thing, but to briefly dispel your ignorance, "ratting" as in betrayal has been English slang for more years than you've had blowjobs. And, since you're such a simp, let me point out also that to be betrayed doesn't mean you're guilty, unless Jesus was guilty.

Also, though I don't mind her pulling the train on this one, IMHO, Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez had little to do with this, it was chiefly local politics, inside baseball. Bezos pulled out after the NY Senate leader (maliciously, revengefully, to shaft Cuomo, who sees what I see) named a fanatical BANANA critic of the $3 billion deal to a state board that could scuttle it.

Reposted for typo and compactness.

There is no denying that privilege has its benefits. Benefits that others are denied.

And when it is government choosing the privileged, government choosing the winners and losers, that is closer to socialism and communism than just leaving the free market on an even playing field for everyone.

Who are the real leftists?

This Amazon chat got me thinking about Kelo. I even checked it out on Wikipedia. First thing I noticed is there are only 3 Justices left from that time and it doesn't seem to me that long ago. Anyway, a lot of the Amazon arguments seem similar to those during the Kelo case.

Then they don't believe the bible, which is what caused Nietzsche to declare that G_d is Dead.

Estrada played a navy fighter pilot flying OFF a carrier (I believe it was Fighter Squadron 8 off the Hornet), not a swabee ON a Carrier.

Lets keep this straight people.

Vermont does its best to keep anybody from doing any development. It’s fine, but the kids mostly all leave as soon as they graduate college. It’s amazing when you go to Florida that you see so many children, in Vermont, not so many. If you can keep a lid on development, it works out great for people who already “have theirs.”

If you want to see where people are having babies, it’s the slice of America that the left mocks as “Jesusland."

NYC is now saying “take it or leave it” on the full tax load and Amazon is saying “leave it.” Cutting taxes that are too high is not socialism, it’s business.

You guys start by believing that the money is already yours, even money that will never show up now that Amazon has withdrawn, and anybody who pays less is taking from you, whereas we believe that the money is ours until the government takes it.

It seems also like the people who are sick of growth might be on board with having the capability to limit immigration. Alas, no.
