Excellent midterm election day graphic at Drudge.
It means: These elections are a referendum on Trump, and we don't know the answer yet.
Perhaps Drudge will lighten the image as the results come in and he's ready with a smiling face or a grim face. Perhaps something in between — or some face of puzzlement if it's close and there are recounts in the offing.

I don't remember who said it on another thread, but it is also a referendum on the Democratic Party.

But they aren't. You need to stop letting the media do your analysis for you, Althouse. These elections are a referendum on Democrats. Do you believe that the police should stand down when antifa comes out swinging clubs and throwing bottles filled with cement or, in some ways worse, urine? Then vote Democrat. Do you believe that due process should be suspended in the face of sexual misconduct charges? Then vote Democrat. If you favor howling mobs of hysterical women attending hearing of the Judiciary Committee, then vote Democrat.
If not, then vote straight Republican.
@Milwaukie guy, I'll let you guess. ;-)
Awful picture.
Makes me think of the Time cover of OJ, where they darkened his features to make him look guilty. Or the staged pictures of McCain with lighting from beneath to make him look evil.
Trump is at 51% approval.
Democrats in congress are in single digits.
Hmm...
I think an early barometer could be be the 1st (?) district in PA which covers all or most of Bucks County which is just outside of Philly. The Repub candidate is a middling conservative Fitzpatrick vs whackadoodle far left lib mega millionaire Scott Wallace who never voted in the district until the primary last May.
What's the election result where it is decided people have rejected Trump? Democrats win a majority in the House? What kind of fucked up logic is that?
Good thing it isn't a referendum on record low unemployment and wages increasing faster than inflation for the first time in years.
How will they explain New Jersey?
How will they explain New Jersey
Vote For the Crook. It's Important.
AJ Lynch, I live in Bucks County. Blew me away going to the polls and seeing AFL-CIO signs endorsing Fitzpatrick! I don't think I ever noted that outfit endorsing a Republican before.
Is it just me, or is the MSM meeker than expected this morning?
Sabato says white folks have a history of telling pollsters they are voting for the black guy, then they go vote for the white guy.
Crack not surprised.

I could vote for a crook.
I could not vote for a guy who "Likes the youngest, newest girls."
The golden scalp weasel rides again.

They were.
A spectre is haunting America--the spectre of MAGA!
Hagar, not just you. I am stuck with msn.com as my home page at work. For the first time ever, after thousands of work days being forced to look at it, the page seems almost balanced politically.
I could not vote for a guy who "Likes the youngest, newest girls."
Clearly you are not a Democrat in New Jersey.
Philly suburbs and NJ will go to the Dems. Those races are within the margin of fraud and the Dems have all of the right levers under control. Don't worry about them. MSM will play them up as early indicators of the Blue Wave. Ignore them.

Is a MAGA specter scarier than another appearance of The New York Times Election Meter?
Qwinn: I am glad to hear that? Historically most unions just automatically endorse Dems. I have often asked my construction union buddies why their unions never speak up against illegals who hold wages down. They never have an answer.
I voted at lunch in Montgomery County, PA. I was voter #402- I don't think that was way higher than in prior elections though hard to say for sure since i have not always voted at lunch time. Weather here is hard rain so far today.

Of course! All the powers of old America have entered into a holy alliance to exorcise this spectre; GOPe and Democrat, George Will and Michael Moore, Antifa and FBI police-spies.
Anyhow, line seemed longer in Arlington VA than it has been before, but that is probably because I dawdled this morning and didn't get in line until 8:30. I think in the past, I have voted around 7, 7:30 am or so. Also, the last time I voted was 2017 in one of those VA off-year elections, so you'd expect lower turnout. I can't remember what it was like in 2014.
Judgment Day?
That's gonna happen with the new Supreme Court.
What time do the Dems start leaking exit data to make it look like things are going their way?
Prediction: healthcare will be the voter's no.1 priority, because that is the only one Democrats poll positively on.
"Is a MAGA specter scarier than another appearance of The New York Times Election Meter?
The NYT Election Meter is where I saw the first signs of Hillary losing in 2016. I love that thing.
Roy Moornendez.
Privacy, please. People are voting.
I do not like the graphic. Too Darth Vader, too Time OJ, too Charles Foster Kane.
DRUDGEMENT DAY
Couldn't it also be Trump passing judgment on us?
Improved economy. Our enemies worried about us. Israel supported.
Or a return to Democrats trying to overturn a valid election result, keeping their grip on power for their own profit, and legislating through their liberal judges.
Choose.
Wait a minute...
Did they photoshop that to make his skin darker?!?
Because I have it on good authority that doing so would be wildly racist
Oh, and in Hershey, Pa., about 1:30 pm they had 30 percent already voting. That must be equal to the last midterms, and the day ain't over yet.
Bill Peschel 1:59
Here's a thought. The Dems win big today. Trump says, “okay, you own it”, ends border enforcement, stops cutting regulations, appoints Occasio-Cortez to the USSC, and stands back to watch.
I think this election is more a referendum on Democrats’ embrace of insanity than it is a referendum on Trump.

The batsh*t crazy has already begun:
Yesterday Ezra Klein opined on the looming crisis we’ll face if Democrats fail to win back the House majority despite clinching the “House popular vote.”
Joy Reid later tweeted:
"Hugely important point just now by @ezraklein: if the outcome of the midterms is that Republicans lose the popular vote for House and Senate, as they did w/ the White House, but due to gerrymandering emerge still controlling all three (and the Supreme Court)? Legitimacy crisis."
YUGE, Bigly, even.
In other news, Billy Madison is on TV.
My money is on the penguin.
Ezra and Joy must know how bad tonight will be if they're already inventing new terminology to explain their losses. I'm old enough to remember when it was un-American to question the outcome of our elections.
Should have photoshopped thanos helmet and cape.
Trump already won. His rallies were a series of victory celebrations.
My nephew voted this morning in Alexandria, VA. Someone ahead of him had left about $.35 in Ukrainian currency in the booth.
Russian collusion!
I, too, thought that was an inspired choice by Drudge. Better than most I've seen today anyway.
The darkened face hides the paintbrush mustache.
A tweet from NBC was in attorney Robert Barnes twitter feed this morning. He has a lot of interesting re-tweets on data from the early voting. I believe he is in London right now having made a big bet (reported to be 100,000 GBP) on the Republicans retaining the House, like he did on Trump's election in 2016. The guy sure puts his money where his mouth his. He doesn't believe any of the polls but thinks Rasmussen is close. He and many others think there is a lot of info to be gleaned from the early voting numbers, which most poll takers ignore.
The tweet:
NBC News: 35,526,881 votes counted as early or absentee as of Nov. 5th, far exceeding 2014 count one day out. Party affiliation:
AZ: R-41% D-34% Other-25%
FL: R-41% D-40% Other-19%
GA: R-50% D-44% Other-5%
IN: R-56% D-35% Other-9%
MT: R-47% D-29% Other-24%
NV: R-38% D-42% Other:21%
TN: R-63% D-29% Other:8%
TX: R-53% D-39% Other:9%
There are a more investing tweets and re-tweets in his feed on Twitter. Just go there and look if you want to see some interesting analyses.

I think we found someone who could vote for Bob Menendez and agrees with Louis Farrakan.

All of this has been publicly available for months.
But NBC still has generic dem at +7%.
Stupid.
I predict dems win California and New York by 12 million votes and the popular vote by millions.
Many of those voters will actually exist. Well some will.
And also that they do not take the house.
This is a referendum on Trump, but when Obama lost huge numbers it was never a referendum on him. I mean for about a minute he said he got destroyed, then everyone decided what the real meaning was, was that the people who didn't vote had a louder voice and they would have supported Obama.
Obama never said he got destroyed. He said he got shellacked.
For a short while after the 2016 election there was a rash of Trump silhouettes on magazine covers. Here are a few:
The Nation
Newsweek
Der Spiegel (variation on the theme)
Time
The local paper in the Eastern Panhandle of WV where we lived at the time had a similar image. I take all this as an attempt to depersonalize Trump. Maybe not collusion; maybe too coincidental.

Yes! THat's the word! Thank you. Yeah, he said that and then he forgave himself and everyone decided it wasn't really about him. Then he shifted even further to the left.
