Many Americans had believed that Trump’s election two years ago was a brief deviation from the norm that would be reversed once rational voters saw what he was like in office. The [midterm election] returns were a depressing wake-up call to the true extent of division in the country. In fact, tens of millions of people turned out to vote in favor of Trumpism....I'd say it's not enough to speak up in opposition — however long and loud. You need to respond convincingly on the issues, especially the issue of illegal immigration. It's not enough to say Trump's message is crude and inhumane and horrible. You need your own answer to the question, an answer that can be stated clearly and that will appeal to enough people (so it can't be open borders or don't do anything new).
That message is horrendous. It is a message suffused with alt-right, racist ideology.... It is a message that manifests itself in shocking policies....
The battle to quiet Trump and Trumpism did not end on Tuesday. It will be a long slog, and the voters who spoke up in opposition Tuesday will have to keep speaking for at least another two years — loudly, courageously, unmistakably.

And tell her jokes? I keed, I keed.
(I broke a couple of ribs some years ago. Laughing hurt like hell.)
It was a painful time. I slept in a partially reclined chair. And I didn't sleep well at all. Can't imagine going through that at 85.

"That message is horrendous. It is a message suffused with alt-right, racist ideology.... It is a message that manifests itself in shocking policies."
I really don't care. Do u?
"shocking policies..." like tax cuts that promote job growth. The left hate those. They prefer Obama's managed decline.
No, America's loudest voice is that of the shrieking Progs. We Trump people are actually pretty quiet.
Exactly so! I never defend Trump, but I'd vote for him again in a heartbeat. In my circle, open support for Trump wouldn't end well. Folks already suspect that I am a racist, homophobe, xenophobe, misogynist, and all-round hater. I don't need to give them actual evidence.
Yesterday, a very senior entertainment executive sent me an email apologizing for her negative assessment of a contract point by possibly attributing her downer views to the "senate results". I remained silent...but inside, I was dancing a buck and wing.

"Since when is a group, estimated to be upwards of 20,000,000 people, referred to as a ragtag bunch?"
Since when would anyone believe insane claims that the caravan is "upwards of 20,000,000 people," (or 2,000,000,000 or even 20,000)?
BTW, it's entirely possible that the nastiness of the lefties is somewhat a result of the general silence of the deplorables. A bully is emboldened by the cowering rectitude of the victim. Kick 'em again, a little harder!
One of the reasons I completely enjoy Trump is that he's not a turn-the-other-cheek kinda guy like W was. If the rest of us addressed the lefties as aggressively as Trump does, it's likely that those Antifa thugs and smugly virtuous coastal librul elitists would think twice before coming at you in a restaurant or in an editorial.
They think that they have intimidated us into shutting the f**k up. And they are right. This editorial is just more proof that they think that they have open-field running.

"Since when would anyone believe insane claims"
The claim is not that of "a" caravan of 20,000,000, but of potential numbers of border crossers should the borders "fall" and a cascade of people be encouraged to make the attempt. The US could not block such enormous numbers nor, probably, would it try to. It would create a massive political and social crisis in the US.
The number, 20,000,000, is, I think, extremely conservative for such a scenario.
Every year I go back to our old homeland, our old mutual colony across the Pacific. 100 million people live there. If it shared a contiguous border with the US, or at least didn't have to cross the whole Pacific Ocean to try it, at least half of those 100 million would be trying to cross the border too.
I understand both sides of this problem.
"Since when is a group, estimated to be upwards of 20,000,000 people, referred to as a ragtag bunch?"
Since when would anyone believe insane claims that the caravan is "upwards of 20,000,000 people," (or 2,000,000,000 or even 20,000)?
I believe he was referring to the estimate of illegals that are already here, which is as high as 30 million people.

So, for those that haven't heard, Broward County election officials are still "finding" and "counting" boxes of ballots 43 hours after polls closed and have managed to flip one race to Dem and have reduced Scott's lead from 50,000 down to 17,000... they refuse to say how many ballots they have left to count, even though by law are required to state this within 30 minutes after polls have closed...
Dems trying to steal more elections
didn't have to cross the whole Pacific Ocean to try it, at least half of those 100 million would be trying to cross the border too
This is why emigration reform is imperative. Immigration reform masks the first-order forcings, incentives, and collateral damage at both ends of the bridge.
"Maddow, the hack(D), is now inspiring mobs because Sessions is stepping down."
It was one of her fans that shot up the baseball practice.
Broward County again.
Serious corruption going on in Broward. only counting in the dead of night. no ballot count. a sting of court smack-downs calling out that corruption.
Democrats are cheats.
Maddow actually said
"This is the "Break Glass in Case of Emergency" plan to protect the Mueller investigation."
Two counts of BS: 1) Muller's investigation is still going. 2) saying 'Break glass" is a signal to the antifa fascists to break some glass.

"Broward supervisor:
- says she doesn’t know how many ballots are left to be counted; &
- Isn’t reporting hourly or regularly, but rather releasing thousands of additional votes, often in the overnight hours, that are chipping away at GOP leads
#Broward elections department has a history of violating the law:
Now democrat lawyers are descending on #Florida. They have been very clear they aren’t here to make sure every vote is counted.
- They are here to change the results of election; &
- #Broward is where they plan to do it. "
gahrie: "I believe he was referring to the estimate of illegals that are already here, which is as high as 30 million people"
Of course I was.
But Cookie can't really argue effectively against that, so, naturally, as all leftists do, he makes it a policy to not understand the point being made.
As was stated in the past, you have to make sure there are things you don't know in order to be a leftist.
”We already made that deal in the 1980's under Reagan...the Democrats simply ignored it.”
I am well aware of that. It has to be different this time (yeah, I know). Making sure of that is the hard part and requires a lot of thought. It may not be possible. But what’s the alternative?
First off, I trust Trump to make this deal more than I would anyone else who comes to mind. Second, we don’t give them amnesty (which is what this is) until everything else is in place. Maybe we start vigorously deporting people until the wall is built. I bet that wall could be built in a year if the right pressure were applied.
Just like Franken stealing the seat in MN, the dems are doing this openly.
They are trying to pull the same thing in GA.
Elections are getting in the way of the leftists and they have decided "screw it", lets just take them.
See the late votes out of Milwaukee, Tester's win. You know, at some point, just by law of averages, the republican would win one or two of these.
But it always goes in the same direction, doesn't it?
OM: "First off, I trust Trump to make this deal more than I would anyone else who comes to mind. Second, we don’t give them amnesty (which is what this is) until everything else is in place."
Nope.
The very second you place a clause in a bill which calls for things A thru "x" to be completed and then you get the Democrat payoff, the dems immediately change the terms, lie, obfuscate etc to get past the criteria, assuming they even bother to address the prerequisites at all.
Which they won't.
Ever.
The dems want all 20,000,000 of LLR Chuck's dream voters (non-Trump voters) on the rolls as fast as possible and nothing will be allowed to stand in the way of that.

any of these mail-ins?
Between bombs and ballots, that's one funky post office
It’s true that who count’s the votes matters a hell of a lot more than the votes of you and me.
Gillum now wants in on the action.
Given that Robert Cook used the term "ragtag" to refer to the current caravan, and it was reused by multiple commenters in the same context, Drago's change of context created obvious confusion.
Of course the fact that some 11 to 30M illegal residents already live in the U.S. is why there is no simple solution to a no-tolerance proposition.
I for one would like to welcome our new overlords, Pre-Existing Conditions.
But what’s the alternative?
Better than nothing is a high standard. Instead of letting illegals in only to allow them to disappear turn them back at the border. Increase employment and academic enforcement to catch visa overstays.
Second, we don’t give them amnesty (which is what this is) until everything else is in place.
This is not how anything works. Dems wouldn't make the deal unless there is an amnesty trigger which they would then game.
I trust Trump to make this deal more than I would anyone else who comes to mind.
Trump isn't going to be around forever. What good is a deal the next Dem president can undo?
School kid: Mom can some of my friends stay over tonight?
Mom: Sure honey, how many friends?
School kid: I am not sure.
Mom: What are their names?
School kid: I think Joe, Kathy, Juan, Hussein, Bill and Sally and a few others.
Mom: Where they from?
School kid: I'm not really sure.
Mom:How long will they be staying here?
School kid: I don't know.
That is how our current fed govt deals with illegal immigrants IMO.
@ Marco Rubio
#Broward election supervisors ongoing violation of #Florida law requiring timely reporting isn’t just annoying incompetence. It has opened the door for lawyers to come here & try to steal a seat in the U.S. Senate & Florida Cabinet
@Drago - I am not advocating for this. I was just responding to the statement “there is no clear solution”. I think there is, but both sides have to actually want to reach a solution. Which they don’t.
Cookie suggests: The Democrats need to cast out the hideous legion of gnomes at the head of their party--the Pelosis, the Bidens, the Clintons, the Clintons (gotta say it twice!), and so on--and reassess who they really want to be and what they can offer the electorate that is more compelling than "Not Trump!"
Agree. This morning Fox Business News interviewed a self-professed 'Blue Dog Democrat', Henry Cuellar, D-TX, who sounded sensible and someone Trump could easily work with. Let's have more 'Blue Dog' Democrats [there used to be many but they were silenced by the 'hideous gnomes' of whom you speak]. 'No Trump' should be a bid in bridge, not a political platform.
I see Henry and Cookie are going to double down on the standard lefty purposeful not-getting-it routine.
Another day ending in "y".
So very LLR Chuck-like.
Even on a medium term timescale you cannot expect deals to hold on existential matters such as these.
No deal can be enforced, no deal will bind a future government. And its certain that you will have a future government that will open your borders. It is the only certain guarantee of perpetual power, and they have been badly scared by the Trumpian revolt.
The basic strategic problem here is that you have two powerful castes competing for power, and one is substantially more powerful than the other, in financial and institutional terms. The long term bet is that the powerful caste will get its way, eventually, unless they are destroyed first. And when they are in full power again they will make certain that it can no longer be challenged. They would be idiots otherwise.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott promised an investigation after an undercover Project Veritas video showed election officials admitting “tons” of non-citizens were voting in Texas. The Project Veritas video caught the attention of the Republican governor who vowed to get to the bottom of what appeared to be election officials encouraging non-citizens to vote.
I was in Palm Beach County in 2000, drove home from work along 441 after taking a half day off to vote. There were air conditioned buses loading up with farm workers, well known to be mostly illegal. Unfortunately in those days, you didn’t have movie cameras in your phone at your side at all times. Usually they toted the farm workers around in disused school buses with all the windows open.
I do sincerely wish the best for RBG and hope she fully recovers from her injuries. I also hope she has the good sense to retire, although none of her 'friends' will speak to her if she does. Perhaps she could appear on the Varney's morning broadcasts as the legal expert [I'm getting awfully tired of the cackling Andrew Napolitano!].

I would like to find a Hispanic to change his name to Paddy O’Furniture and run for Senate in Massachusetts. Because I am trying to think of something even more ridiculous than “Beto O’Rourke” trying to join the Hispanic Caucus in the House.
Just like Franken stealing the seat in MN, the dems are doing this openly.
They pulled this shit in Washington in 2004. Tens of thousands of unsecure ballots found in King County and King County, only. Rossi's lead over Gregoire went from a couple thousand to -129. Then suddenly, they stopped finding ballots.
Not coincidentally, the head of the Democratic Party in Washington state at that time was Paul Berendt. Guess who found himself in Minnesota leading the recount effort for the Dems in the Franken race?

Broward County again.
On the plus side, since Florida voted to restore voting rights to over 1 million felons, this will be the last close election in Florida.
"a self-professed 'Blue Dog Democrat', Henry Cuellar, D-TX, who sounded sensible "
There is no long term significance in "sounding sensible", when the inexorable strategic logic of the pursuit of power is in play.
Your old elite had a tribal attachment to the United States, as an entity and a culture, but your modern one has been educated differently. This is why I keep harping on your problem with the universities, all else flows from that. All that matters now is who rules, not the nature of that entity they rule. They could be ruling Brazil, as long as their wealth is preserved. The constitution or condition of the masses they rule over is irrelevant.
"It is a message that manifests itself in shocking policies...." And what might those shocking policies be exactly? The wall? National borders are a real issue. There is no country on Earth except failed states that have open borders. Do you think you can go to Japan or China or Iran or Brazil and just move in and work? No way. Please, mr and ms progressive, give me a number of immigrants that you think is the right number so we can debate that. 1million? 10? 100? Because if borders were truly open 100Million might indeed want to move here. Is that your goal? People need to know.
As to all this "racist" stuff--the only evidence for that is the border question, but borders apply to white people immigrating too, not just Mexicans. And why should Mexicans have an advantage over Chinese or Africans just because they can walk in? Trump's claims about criminals concerns whether we have the right to refuse entry to anyone. The Left apparently thinks not. Which of these positions is logical?
Florida: Felons for felons 2020!
They have to steal Senate seats because otherwise they would be looking at a permanent minority or they would have to moderate their positions. Neither option is acceptable, therefore you get things like the Franken theft, The Stephens political indictment with no evidence behind it, etc, etc.
"Here again I see you appealing to a form of "clear" articulation, and there is no one in public life who uses language less clearly, or more recklessly, than Donald Trump."
Did he hurt your feelings?
He says what he's going to do and then does it.
You seem to have a problem with that.
You would think a loyal LLR like Chuck, election lawyer to boot, would be down in Broward County helping out the cause of preventing the theft of a vote to nominate the kinds of judges he favors.
“Think what would have happened had Justice Scalia remained with us,” [Ruth Bader Ginberg] said.
RBG is a disgrace, the most shameful and shameless justice since Roger Brooke Taney. She needs to go.
One way or the other.
I am not bothered by “felons voting” if they have completely “paid their debt to society”. I don’t get the logic to taking away the right to vote from someone who is not in jail or on probation.
I must say that even I am a tad surprised at the lefts attempt to deliver over 50,000 fraudulent votes after an election in complete violation of state law to steal an election.
And thats after generating no doubt thousands of fraudulent votes during the election.
And thats after generating no doubt thousands of fraudulent votes during the election.
It's not just that the clock which strikes 13 is *wrong*..
Harsanyi - so perfect
In the liberal imagination there are only four ways to lose elections — and none have to do with their increasingly leftist turn, their hysterics, or their one-dimensional identity politics. Democrats lose because of “gerrymandering,” “voter suppression” (sometimes known as “asking for ID”), Russian mind-control rays deployed by social media, and our antiquated and unfair Constitution.
Democrats Aren't Losing Faith In Our Constitutional System. They Just Don't Like It

Yes, the Democrats in Broward County are in the process of stealing the Senate seat- Rubio is absolutely correct. We know this because they have conspicuously refused to disclose what they are doing and how they are doing it. They have already gotten the Scott lead down to the manual recount stage where "intent" of the voter can then be used to push Nelson's carcass over the finish line. They literally cut a 60,000 vote lead when Broward reported 100% count to 17,000 in just two overnight vote drops. By Monday morning, I predict Nelson is in the lead by enough to evade even a machine recount. This is banana republic vote counting.
I mean- seriously Broward reported their 100% vote count late on the election night, so where have they found what has to have been a quarter million uncounted votes that they didn't disclose that night?
What Drago said at 2:52 PM.
As a former Minnesota election judge I know fraud was uncommon in rural areas. But the potential for fraud in urban precincts was high. "One-vote-at-a-time" fraud is possible all day. Once the voting ends there are lots of opportunities for "bundle-of-votes-in-the-trunk-of-the-car" fraud.
yes, it's obvious fraud, yancey, there is no way that many ballots could have been uncounted,
Trump's mighty ego required that he diss GOP candidates who lost. Somehow they just didn't love him enough.
Mike Coffman (CO): "Too bad, Mike."
Carlos Curbelo (FL): Called the Cuban immigrant "Quebella"
Mia love (UT):"Gave me no love."
Barbara Comstock (VA): "She didn't want to have any embrace."
Peter Roskam (IL): "Didn't want the embrace."
Bob Hugin (NJ): That's a race that could've been won."
In the meantime our brilliant egotist went to Danny Tarkanian and asked him not to run in the Nevada primary for US Senator so that Sen Dean Heller could run unopposed. He told Tarkanian to run for Jacky Rosen's House seat since she was now running against Heller. Not only did Heller lose, but Tarkanian, who has never won, lost as well.
In South Carolina Trump endorsed Katie Arrington to be the Senator from South Carolina and then he bragged that he got rid of incumbent Republican Mark Sanford when she won the primary. In the end a Democrat beat out Arrington in SC of all places.
In Missouri Trump had to go with his dishonest bud, Kris Kobach in the gubernatorial primary despite bad press, only to have him trounced in the election.
And the beat goes on. Everything is wonderful as long as Trump and his believers think so.

Democrats are in line to get 35 to 40 House seats when all votes are counted and several Governorships. Walker is gone, swept out with the blue wave.
Michael K. dropped off the blog a year or so ago for a while out of disgust but AFAIK, there were no recent incidents. Hope he's OK!

Inga: "Democrats are in line to get 35 to 40 House seats when all votes are counted and several Governorships. Walker is gone, swept out with the blue wave"
The "blue wave".....late votes out of Milwaukee.
Jon Tester....late votes out of democrat controlled counties.
Late votes out of Broward County which is already in violation of chain of custody and time-related voting laws.
Late votes out of Fulton Co in GA........late late late late
With video of bags of ballots being "discovered" and tossed about left and right.
The dems are very confident of their "tip the scales" "blue wave".....
Which is easy to do, once you know the number of votes you have to make up and can generate as many "black box" votes as you need.
It sure beats finding votes in trunks of cars weeks after an election which allowed Franken to skate into office.
Why is it that votes in counties controlled by republicans never show up days and weeks after an election which tip elections to republicans?
So very, very interesting.
I guess the USSC will take another hit because of Broward.
I hope the case takes 6 years and they only get 1 senator.
Michael K, in his own words, as to why he's stopped posting chez Althouse.
I wonder if the dems have already issued instructions in Florida about how to toss out active duty military members ballots like they did in 2000.
It was so badly received by the public that Lieberman had to go out and and try to claw it back.
But the dems still got those votes tossed.
I wonder what it was the dems knew about the military ballots that got them so motivated to just throw out as many as possible.
I wonder....
LOL at you Drago. Whenever Democrats win big, it’s voter fraud in the minds of rightists. It’s gotten so ridiculous you just have to be laughed at.
Inga: "Whenever Democrats win big..."
Inga thinks Bill Nelson won "big".
Why would you think that Inga?
Did you get that in a totally legit "Military" Times poll?
LOL
Inga, did you approve or disapprove of the dem tactics in Florida to throw out active duty military member ballots?
LOL
Don't worry, we already know the answer.
All vote totals are supposed to be provided to state authorities within 30 minutes of the polls closing.
Broward County is still refusing to provide their vote totals.
Sounds totally legit. I mean, that 30 minute thing is a stupid rule anyway, isn't it?
You need to respond convincingly on the issues, especially the issue of illegal immigration. It's not enough to say Trump's message is crude and inhumane and horrible. You need your own answer to the question, an answer that can be stated clearly and that will appeal to enough people (so it can't be open borders or don't do anything new).
How about:
1. I don't care.
or:
2. You can do more for those worried about job competition by legislating for their own protections (wage and benefits) instead of being on the take for the CEOs and billionaire-owner class who keep employment prospects and conditions hijacked to their never-ending vetos and whims.
Also:
3. Obama prevented more undocumented entry, but did it without the hate. The hate is entirely the issue, not the numbers or their effects. And Trump IS vulnerable on that fact. Look at how fucking insecure he get when called out on how the Mexican caravan was a phony issue that he lied about. Just couldn't take the criticism.
We can have our own answers. Trump might "own" that issue, but that doesn't make his stance as popular as you pretend.
Finally, your posture is offensive as hell. It's akin to saying, "Listen, Hitler might be wrong on the Jewish thing, but he's 'winning' with it at the polls. Craft your own response that assumes he's right on it and doesn't ignore how it resonates."
We will never give in to hatred, ignorance and just general all-around bullshit. For a supposedly well-educated former academic, you are disappointingly weak-minded when it comes to what lies you think you can demand people take seriously, just because it has political value.
Trump is a fraud and his immigrant-obsession is a phony issue.
There is nothing more pathetic than watching a professional pander to a demagogue.
“Inga thinks Bill Nelson won "big".”
On the whole Drago, on the whole. Will you ever stop putting words in other people mouths? Can you ever stop being dishonest? I would guess no. Propaganda can’t be honest.

Inga: "On the whole Drago, on the whole."
We were talking about specific races, including Florida.
Note to self: Geography also not an "Inga thing".
The problem with K. is that he has no humility or sense of humor and he thinks his opinions (which are like assholes, everybody's got one) are perfection squared. The presumption he has for their gloriousness is revolting. Like they came down from Sinai chiseled on stone tablets. And then his constant demands that he could select which commenters should and should not be here, or his insults toward low-wage workers as if that was a funny thing to make up and use as a false label against the commenters he thought he had a right to eject from here. There was not a single redeeming thing about him, and he will never change.
“I noticed that he posted at Chicago Boyz on 11/5. He may be on hiatus from this site, probably because Inga, Ritmo and Chuck are so annoying.”
I recall Michael K saying psychologists go into the field because they are trying to work out their own mental problems. One of the things I agreed with him on.
“The problem with K. is that he has no humility or sense of humor and he thinks his opinions (which are like assholes, everybody's got one) are perfection squared.”
He felt entitled to have the blog’s comments sections free of liberals. It frustrated him to no end when a new one appeared, especially those with private profile pages. He got used to the surgical arena where surgeons were gods, or so they thought.
“We were talking about specific races, including Florida.”
“We”, who us this we? I was talking about The Blue Wave. It happened despite rightists trying so hard to deny it.
"The claim is not that of 'a' caravan of 20,000,000, but of potential numbers of border crossers should the borders'fall' and a cascade of people be encouraged to make the attempt. The US could not block such enormous numbers nor, probably, would it try to. It would create a massive political and social crisis in the US.
"The number, 20,000,000, is, I think, extremely conservative for such a scenario."
I'm sorry...this is patently absurd, a fake "menace" ginned up by Trumpists or a genuine panic among the always-prone-to-fall-for-xenophobic-panics right wing.
...psychologists go into the field because they are trying to work out their own mental problems.
You'd best believe Fran D. would never take a load off on the psychiatrist's chair for us.
K's other tediousness was his constant appeals to this book or that, as if he couldn't summarize and evaluate their impact (or lack thereof) in his own words. It was always, "hey, look at me. I read a book. An outside statement exists." Who the fuck cares? Evaluate its value on your own terms. I think he just couldn't think (and especially not reason) for himself and basically wanted to prove that he could swallow someone else's opinion. Boring. And useless.
But at least he realized the back-and-forth was not good for him. Maybe he can learn to feel his way through life as an actual human being at this point and not just as a follower or a political role player, like he did so often on this blog.
Michael K posted today at Chicagp Boyz.
Thanks, Original Mike. That's good news.
Blue wave happened, he never touched her, I am holding up four fingers, not three, yadda yadda.
When policing voter integrity is called voter suppression, it speaks for itself.
I can explain it to the trolls but I can't understand it for them.
Leave it at Chicagp "Boyz", fake turtle. We don't need to be assaulted with K's fart smelling from his bunker abroad.
He left to abscond away there for a reason. Leave him in peace. If it's such a superior setting, then all your followers can go follow the old self-appointed graybeard hermit atop the mountain called "Chicagp Boyz" and seek his supreme wisdom and consul there.

Yeah, because that's not EXACTLY what's happening to Europe right now.
Michael Curmudgeonly K. was definitely much better at sniffing his own farts than any of us will ever be. I will grant him that.
But his "I'm running away and never coming back" bit is funny. It's made him a martyr to his followers here. He has officially achieved prophet status.
He is a Prophet of Olfactory Self-Scatology. All hail The Great K.
Ann posts her little quiz and checks out for the day, perhaps behind locked doors, no doubt laughing hilariously as her trickster president names one of her white non-elite as acting USAG. Ann loves a clown, otherwise she's bored.
But to answer the quiz:
Ann's concession that Trump's message is crude and inhumane reveals the answer: change the message, and see the brown immigrants in a positive way. Don't be cruel, don't be inhumane. Most of them who are here are trying to fit in and raise their kids. It's a big country, and they add to our wealth. It's not open borders for the US to show protection to people seeking asylum.
Ann and the other white non-elites have to be persuaded that they aren't really in physical danger from roving gangs, nor that their advantages in access to wealth and power in the society have been retarded. That's going to be a hard job. She and her tribe seem as scared as can be. They must somehow rekindle the moral courage of their ancestors. Buck up, you scared non-elite whites! Show some spine!
Lets face it, the US, with 350 million people, can absorb not only 11 million current illegal immigrants, but many more, as the 21st Century US turns browner long after Trump has scarfed his last big mac.
I will concede, though, that as climate change's effects bring on more severe weather events globally, and as global availability of fresh water diminishes, and more societies begin to break down, people will be displaced in enormous numbers, with mass flight of refugees in the tens and hundreds of thousands or more, fleeing violence and/or starvation where they're from to hoped-for haven somewhere else. As we did with Jewish refugees in WWII, these refugees will be barred entry to the lands they flee to.
Chaos, upheaval, and war will be the result.
Yeah, because that's not EXACTLY what's happening to Europe right now.
Let the Europeans deal with it then, FFS. If Drumpf had run for President of Europe he certainly has done a shitty job of playing the part. (Although to be fair, a competent statesman might have convinced them that paying for their own collective defense was in their own best interests).
If he wants to be President of Europe, or President of the Holy Roman Empire, or whatever, I say he's welcome to the job. He can inflict his self-proclaimed "greatness" on them instead. But he'd better hurry up. His little boy Bannon seems to be beating him to it.
America first, my fucking ass. Does he not know the difference between America and Europe?
So if they are brown, the laws cease to apply and our borders disappear? They are no longer illegal aliens, but immigrants? We have no rights to apply duly passed laws? Color trumps all?
And the laws of supply and demand don't apply to labor.
I think Prophet K. should sell access to his blog. He could be all like, "For premium fart-sniffing access, I'm making you a special, low, one-time offer..."
Just keep them out if they're Jewish, tim. You know. So the votes of the Robert Bowerses are more obtainable. Especially if they're on something called the MS St. Louis.
You're missing him already. Maybe Birkel will come on.
I paid for two bat mitzvahs, try something else.
It looks like the dems just stole the Arizona Senate seat.
It looks like the dems just stole the Arizona Senate seat.
"With half a million ballots left to count we remain confident that as votes continue to come in from counties across the state, Martha McSally will be elected Arizona's next senator," McSally campaign CEO Jim Bognet said in a statement.
Eighty percent of AZ voters voted early by mail but apparently they didn't start counting these ballots until after the election. So 99 precincts reporting presumably just means precincts reporting the votes counted by machine. At least, that's my take.
I paid for two bat mitzvahs, try something else.
Apparently you think this gives you license to treat Mexicans today the way America treated Jews then.
How proud you must be.
the dems just stole
Aw, poor you.
Next time you'll probably be able to suppress more votes. I say once you can get the eligible voting public down to 20% of the population that will be a real heyday for Republicans.
Keep hope alive, vote suppressors! Early to bed, early to rise. Defame online and disenfranchise!
Come on. Sinema is so much nicer, poised and attractive than that McSqueamy lady.
And articulate.
Cute, blond, and bisexual. That's who I want representing me.
Plus, she kicked McSquealy's ass in the debates. Just came across so much more reasonable, compassionate, honest and articulate.
We live in a good country, after all.
Arizona is hot. Chicks have to go sleeveless.
Man, Sinema had such a much better and nicer rack than McSquealy!
I am volunteering for the role of her wardrobe advisor. Not that she needs one.

This sounds like a bad dystopian scifi film from the 1970s.
Because I've been hearing the same bullshit since the 1960s. Today it is global warming. In my life the cause of the dystopia -- which always requires intervention by a world government to prevent -- has been: overpopulation, food shortages, nuclear winter, the return of the ice age, the disappearing ozone layer, natural resource exhaustion, air pollution blocking the sun, water pollution killing the oceans, economic collapse, global warming, and now "climate change."
Your beloved ideology is bankrupt, Robert Cook. There is no reason whatsoever for anyone with two neurons to rub together to believe your inane, repetitive, tedious predictions of disaster if we don't all come to share your totalitarian values.
America needs a sexy senator for once.
America deserves one.
This sounds like a bad dystopian scifi film...
Who cares what it sounds like? It's fucking reality. Can you name me a single planetary body that can regulate its climate without an atmosphere? How do expect that the earth should? If you're anti-climate-atmosphere then just go live in outer space, already. Great climate they have out there, I hear.
BUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMER for the LA Times. Too bad, so sad.
The day after tomorrow also snowpiercer
These people have graduate degrees and consider themselves the Smart Ones. How can they be such complete flaming morons?
As always, the question is "graduate degrees in what?"
Sinema for tutu Taliban and a brown shirt.
"Who cares what it sounds like? It's fucking reality."
Thus begins another insane rant by a person understands nothing about how science works, how politics works, or how economics works.
It is almost comprehensible. Maybe he's been taking extension classes.
You're a moron pppt. Do you even have satellite pictures of the death camps set up that these migrants are fleeing, or did you just make up the WWII comparison because you thought it sounded good?
Socialists like the Soviets and the Nazis gotta extirpate their deplorables, for Stalin it was The Ukraine, but wait, Obama, as almost his last act, stopped accepting refugees from Cuba. Now that socialism has come to it may be required to accept refugees from Venezuela. The problem with them is that having seen socialism first hand, they tend to vote Republican, which is of course why Obama started sending them back to Cuba.
Here's the thing, the 'nonpartisan' commissions mandate by amendment redrew all these districts so only one rep in south east florida.
Arizona Republicans obviously need to sue to suppress votes because Sinema is winning.
And Florida Republicans are going ape shit crazy because as the absentee ballets and provisional votes are counted, Gillim and Nelson are getting closer to winning.
And Wisconsin Republicans are trying to take back the power they so readily gave to Walker now that we have a Democratic Governor. This is what the Republican Party has become, or maybe always were. Cheats and sore losers.
Thus begins another insane rant by a person understands nothing about how science works, how politics works, or how economics works.
Better than listening to your rejection of how all those things, especially science, works.
Go on. Do let us know when you find an object in the universe that can have and regulate a climate without an atmosphere.
Contact NASA and the ESA and get some feeds from the Hubble Telescope with which to conduct and broadcast your non-observations. Tens of thousands of objects out there we've seen and studied, but I'm sure you have some awesome non-knowledge about them to refute their actual knowledge.
Do you have any hobbies, besides proclaiming to the world that we're not allowed to know anything? Maybe HIV doesn't exist, either.
...did you just make up the WWII comparison because you thought it sounded good?
It sure doesn't make me feel good to point out your hatred, fear and loathing. But I do recognize that it's the same hatred, fear and loathing that kept all those Jews out and pronounced them to be "threats" in the same way then that you pronounce all the Mexican non-threats to be threats now.
Um Kraus you know nothing about balloting procedures so don't embarrass yourself further.
Inga: "And Florida Republicans are going ape shit crazy because as the absentee ballets and provisional votes are counted, Gillim and Nelson are getting closer to winning."
Democrats have already broken the law in Florida by refusing to report vote totals and have not allowed party observers access to the counting rooms. Both actions are against the law.
So, not telling anyone the vote totals as they are required to do by law, and not allowing observers into the rooms where the dems are doing the counting.
Yep. In counties and by democrat elections officials who have already been cited multiple times for improper and illegal voting acts.
Nothing to see here. Nothing to see.
Arizona Republicans obviously need to sue to suppress votes because Sinema is winning.
And Florida Republicans are going ape shit crazy because as the absentee ballets and provisional votes are counted, Gillim and Nelson are getting closer to winning.

Cheating is all they know. They only believe in power, not process. Perhaps they didn't gerrymander enough. Republicriminals should fight for the ability to have non-contiguous districts. That will be the next-step evolution in their gerrymandering enterprise. Clearly there are unexplored frontiers in where and how far they can take this non-competitive districting process that they love so well.
The term America First started way back during WW2 when Jewish refugees from Europe were trying to get entrance into the USA. The anti Semites back then were spouting it and were no different that the anti Latino asylum seekers of today. Selfish and hateful.
It took some time for Inga and Ritmo to show up.
Now that they are here, anyone with an IQ above room temperature will leave the room.
Actually before WW2 started here in the states, during the 30’s when European Jews were desperate to leave Germany and Austria, and then the rest of Europe, America turned them away.
As we speak leftists in NYC are marching in support of Jess Sessions, a guy they told us was a Klansman.
No one has yet to explain precisely when Jeff Sessions transformed from a racist deplorable Klansman to a highly respected official that we should all look up to and make sure never leaves the govt.
Normally the lefties take just a wee bit longer before they rewrite their history and hit their history reset buttons.
“As we speak leftists in NYC are marching in support of Jess Sessions, a guy they told us was a Klansman.”
They are marching in support of protecting the Mueller investigation Drago. Propagandists must propagandize apparently.
Who is “Kraus”?
No one has yet to explain precisely when Jeff Sessions transformed from a racist deplorable Klansman to a highly respected official that we should all look up to and make sure never leaves the govt.
Probably when he made it clear that legal ethics were more important than his boss's tantrums and ego. But of course, that would be too straightforward for an incoherent and amoral mess like you to pick up on.
It would be so much easier if your tribe created a support group. "Hi, my name is Drago and I'm a partisan hack with no capacity for ethical public behavior whatsoever."
(In unison): "Hi, Drago!"
A travesty of a mockery of a sham, yes they go for that,
If Broward County is going to abuse the law with no oversight and blatantly creating votes, something no Journolist is looking into, then just have Trump declare martial law.
Seriously, if we can't trust VOTING anymore because the Left is such sore losers, then what do we have left?
Because absolute retards like Inga and Chuck hate Trump more than they care about America and an America that can elect Republicans obviously deserves to burn to the ground.
But don't worry...history tells us a dictator is waiting in the wings after you destroy voting.
Fucking idiots!

Ethics, lefty style!
“If Broward County is going to abuse the law with no oversight and blatantly creating votes, something no Journolist is looking into, then just have Trump declare martial law.”
What extremist stupidity.
Inga: "They are marching in support of protecting the Mueller investigation Drago."
LOL
The unlimited scope, unlimited budget Mueller investigation which continues untouched even today.
And Trump didn't even bother having a meeting on a tarmac with the AG!!
Don't you have some more fake rape charges to gin up against republican judges?
Inga: "What extremist stupidity."
It's now officially "extremist" to expect election officials to comply with laws regarding vote totals reporting requirements and allowing party observers into counting rooms.
Inga, why do you suppose the Broward and Palm Beach County dems won't allow observers into the counting rooms....as the law stipulates?
LOL
Transparent.
Democrats love the US enough to get enough seats in the House and Governorships to overcome Trumpism. Trumpism is a scourge on Democracy. History books will tell the tale and your great grandkids will ask you if you voted for Trump.
"Eric Holder:
And his conflict of interest in an electoral investigation was what, exactly?
Or did you forget that that's what the entire issue was?
It's ok. Your leader is a "disruptor," or disruptive, with a conduct disorder or whatever. And you're just another uptight, easily distracted wingnut with poor self-control.
I see Inga has wisely pivoted away from attempting to discuss the obvious violations of Florida state election laws by the dem officials in at least 2 counties.
You mean like Obama who ran unopposed in his first race, because he had all his opponents signatures disqualified, that's a neat trick.
"Trumpism is a scourge on Democracy."
That's why "the resistance" is made up of un-elected judges and bureaucrats.
You anti-Trumpers speak a different language. You want the nation ruled by judges and bureaucrats and call yourself"Democrats." Your Democrat party's un-democratically appointed "super delegates" (it means "above delegates" you can look it up) picked your losing candidate. You whine about Trump violating norms of governance while you stand against the first and second amendments of the constitution, against federalism, and against the bedrock American ideals of freedom of association and presumption of innocence.
One day, one of her grandchildren is going to ask an RBG aged Inga "Granny, what was democracy?"
I am curious to know how Inga justifies herself.
I am curious to know how Inga justifies herself.
Probably by using her brain.
You should try it sometime.

Holder isn’t a brown-shirted fascist; he’s a brown-faced fascist. It’s always about “my people,”
Fuck him.
Blogger Known Unknown said...”The sudden left-wing love for Jeff(erson) Sessions is hilarious.”
I doubt that’s universally leftist. For example, any love shown by Ritmo for Sessions would be an extreme show of hypocrisy.

Fuck you, Nazi Boy.
Seriously, you are one of the most naive little Hitlerjugend on the internet. Until your completely repressed contempt leaks out (as above) and we see just how deep your sense of race war is.
It's what drives losers of every stripe.

Bad Lt.,

If he is not back here by next week, I will try to find a way to contact him. We are practically neighbors.

Thanks for the proof of life info, Dr D'Anconia, guys.
This voter fraud is horrible, but is also inevitable if unopposed. The RNC should have the brains and resources to deal with this (as they did in FL in 2000).
PDJT frankly should have expected it and should be taking some kind of measures. Flood the zone/s with DOJ or something. If Sessions had been on the ball he might have prepped for it.
But there may be a jurisdictional issue and the Fed can't intervene in state elections, though it seems a clear conspiracy to deny Republicans their civil rights.
The more I think about it, the more I think in 2016 the Democratic fraud machine (but I repeat myself) must have sat back and rested, expecting to be 50 points ahead already, or perhaps not caring for HRC or stood down at BHO's order.
Achilles' optimism, which was excessive, may have been warranted by the (naive) assumption of a clean election.

Mcacullough,
Read your comment aloud to my wife. More insight in it than a hundred pundits typing furiously for a hundred days.
Seconded - that comment reads like a shorter Victor Davis Hanson diagnosis. The really depressing point is that, excellently though Mcacullough makes the point, it is not an original one - as Ann comments in her post, the LA Times offers no solutions, only sniping. Can it be a coincidence that the election supervisor in Florida with the unfortunate record of "losing" ballot forms, is called Snipes?
"This sounds like a bad dystopian scifi film from the 1970s."
The bad (and good) dystopian scifi of yesterday is the real bad dsytopia of tomorrow.
Last night I made pressure cooker spareribs and sauerkraut. In respect to RBG.
