"A group of LGBT migrants who were part of the massive caravan slowly marching toward the U.S. made it to the coastal border city of Tijuana on Sunday."

Reports NPR. I'm surprised to see NPR using the word "marching," which reinforces the idea that the caravan is an invading army. But maybe the NPR writer is thinking of something more like a civil rights march. We're told this group of 80, "the majority of whom identify as LGBT, splintered off from the larger group in Mexico City after weeks of what they say was discriminatory treatment by local residents and other travelers."
The LGBT migrants gravitated toward one another within the caravan and began organizing en route.... "When we entered Mexican territory, those organizations began to help us. We did not contact them; they learned from our group thanks to the media and decided to help us," [Honduran migrant Cesar] Mejia said.

On Sunday the group arrived at an upscale neighborhood called Coronado in Playas de Tijuana just a few miles from the San Diego port of entry.... "We want to do things in order, in the right way," Mejia told reporters. He said the LGBT group plans to request asylum at the San Ysidro or Otay Mesa ports of entry. "We are waiting for our representatives," he added.

No way they "marched" that far in such a short amount of time.

They were given rides... rides and more rides. The LGBT part is to prove that Trump hates gays.

I really don't care who you are or where you are from or what color you are or what language you speak... We have laws and we are a sovereign nation.

Ah, the nobility of our Globalists loving the Transitioned. Since Homosexuality won its full popular acceptance a decade ago, the Globalists have needed a new oppressed victim class. LGBT, you are up.

Fake news. I saw just a few minutes ago that It would be impossible to be at the border now. Still hundreds of miles away.

It's a special victim group, delivered to border, and we must let them in and register them to vote immediate.

Dave Begley said...

What's the limiting principle on open borders? Why can't the entire world move to the United States?

In order to staff the Foxconn plant in WI, why not just fly in 20,000 people from China?

Imagine. No borders.

The few pictures we get show people who look surprisingly fresh for marching so long in the harsh elements. I imagine there are logistics managers and military types would be very interested in emulating their efficiency.

Indeed, little is being said about what percentage of the distance was covered by actually...walking. Or marching. Too much of a metaphor alert to point out that they were to a great extent (90 % plus?) given a free ride thus far.

Do they expect this to continue?

You could read the article:

The LGBT migrants gravitated toward one another within the caravan and began organizing en route. An internal count revealed there were more than 120 LGBT people among them, Voice of San Diego reported. Their number emboldened the collective to forge their own path northward, which they did after linking up with an assortment of U.S. and Mexico-based LGBT groups that paid for the asylum-seekers to travel by bus, Univision said.

"When we entered Mexican territory, those organizations began to help us. We did not contact them; they learned from our group thanks to the media and decided to help us," Mejia said.

The article is unsurprisingly void of facts. Whenever we arrived at a stopping point the LGBT community was the last to be taken into account in every way...When we entered Mexican territory, those organizations began to help us....We are waiting for our representatives. Taken into account? By whom? Which those organizations? What representatives?

What bilge.

traditionalguy said...

The Caravan people are issued pre-paid Visa Cards by the Soros funded organisations. They pay their own way through Mexico. But that proves the are an invasion force complete with Logistic Officers making the arrangements. An Army still moves on its stomach.

Of course, the LGBT are very, very special people.

More details from local news (San Diego Tribute):

Several of those interviewed said that attorneys in the United States and Mexico had paid for their transportation and accommodations, but were not quite sure who did so. A Texas-based nonprofit agency, RAICES, that offers low-cost legal services to immigrants and refugees, said Monday that it had raised the funds to purchase 77 bus tickets, pay for four nights at the Airbnb, and send a legal team to Mexico.

What duty or obligation does the United States have to let the entire world move here? All contrary to our laws?

That hate schtick is getting really, really tired.

Trump could greatly reduce the illegal immigration problem by coming down harshly on those business and individuals in this country who illegally hire them. But he doesn’t. Instead, he wants this issue because it is so effective in storing up his hillbilly base. He has no desire to solve the problem at the source.

90-95% of the caravan are men. Media falsely report that it's mostly women and children.

Media are framing the caravan that they are escaping violence, when in realty they are looking for a better life.

Clearly you don't follow the news. Meat packing plants in Minnesota and Iowa rave been raided. I know this because The StarTribune runs stories about how evil Trump is for rounding these people up, deporting them and fining the businesses heavily.

But why let reality get in the way?

I'm still hoping some genius will explain why the Caravan ISN'T like the invading flotilla in CAMP OF THE SAINTS. I have the advantage--unlike many of the book's critics-- of actually read it (albeit decades ago), and I don't recall any essential difference. I also don't recall any of the novel's critics stating how they would handle such a situation in real life.

“Yesterday something just hit my eye, boom!” said Cinthi Fajardo, an 18-year-old who said she had left home in Santa Barbara, Honduras, because she couldn’t find a job.

“It burns whenever I open it,” she said. “Today has been the worst day so far.”

After Fajardo was Grey Elizabeth Perez, a 22-year-old from Honduras who was 32 weeks pregnant and worried that the long walks were hurting her baby.

Vinisa Pineda Martinez, a health worker in bright blue scrubs, took Perez inside a mobile health unit and asked her to lay down. Then she put gel on her stomach, turned on a sonogram machine and showed Perez her baby.

It was a boy, she said.

“I thought so, since I could feel him kicking,” Perez replied, Pineda later recalled.

Did they padlock those plants and arrest the owners for breaking the law? Of course they didn’t. Maybe a slap on the wrist. Maybe.

Trump should blow everybody's mind and grant asylum to this group, recognizing the actual persecution that members of the LGBTQ+ community experience in most undeveloped countries in the world. That type of persecution is something we have often recognized in our asylum law, very different from simple economic refugees or victims of general, widespread violence within some other country.
