Why sad?
Seems to me, the article contains lots of things that couldn't be known. Who observed her? Whom did she tell?
She converted because she knew Weinstein would be the guy on the casting couch? Wait, Harvey would have been four years old at the time.
Her first meeting with Jack Kennedy, "I'm okay with your next year in Jerusalem stuff, but right now head over to that bed."

She worked with Harvey's father. Who may have molested her.
I can't think of two more refreshing words to find in a Prayer Book myself.
She wasn't as dumb as she looked.
Why is is sad, Althouse? I think it’s beautiful that she may have studied and contemplated the contents of this book. A person with no capacity for spiritual reflection is like a house without a bookshelf.
The article says she described herself as a "Jewish atheist." If you convert to Judaism how can you be an atheist?

I can't think of two more refreshing words to find in a Prayer Book myself.
I wonder if "skip" was written on the book cover, and that's why the fake news only shows the back of the book.
Or maybe she got the book from a guy named "Skip Omit", along with some palm fronds for use in rituals of magickal mysticism and mystical magick -

This is really subtle and complicated (Wiki):
"Jewish atheism refers to the atheism of people who are ethnically and culturally Jewish. Because Jewish identity encompasses ethnic as well as religious components, the term "Jewish atheism" does not inherently entail a contradiction."
As far as I can tell, most Jews are atheists, and "ethnically" used above means "genetically".
"Skip O'mit" before it was Anglicized.
Her prayers weren't effective. I'd much rather own Harvey Winstein's prayer book. Most of his prayers became flesh, at least until recently.

As the Shabbos for a couple of Synagogues, I've met my share of Jewish atheists - all Holocaust survivors who lost their faith but not their identities as Jews - so, while it seems weird at first, it happens a lot.
Hell, I even met an atheist Rabbi.
