The reason Hillary is saying civility will return with the elections of Democrats is because it's true.
Why do we see this daily dose of drama?
I've made this point several times here at Althouse.
The purpose of Cindy Sheehan, code pink, anti war demonstrations had almost nothing at all to do with the war. It was drama created to send a message.
Are you tired of all the drama yet? Elect Democrats.
Hillary has let the cat out of the bag here.
What happened as soon as Obama was elected? We stopped hearing about the anti war protests. But, they were still happening. Even Cindy Sheehan was still around.
But fortunately, the media stopped paying attention to it and we were allowed to live for a few years without all the drama.
But then we had to go and elect a republican again!!
So, now we pay the price.
But if we do as we are told, the drama will end and peace will reign.
Michael looks bad and storm surges for which people are not prepared are the worst thing ever - they come so fast and affect so many people. I've talked to people hit by Katrina's surge. In the midst of 155 mph winds? - we can only pray.
Are you tired of all the drama yet? Elect Democrats.
Are you tired of your toddler throwing a screaming fit, slobbering, crying, and banging his head against the floor. Just give him everything he wants. (Yeah...that'll fix it /sarcasm)
Or....not.
Parents know that the way to continue having toddler drama is to give into the demands. Just like the Dems. Want it to continue. Give them more power.
We can't spank them (the Dems), much as we would love to or put them in a time out in their rooms the only things left are ignoring them, put them in a time out by not voting for them.
There is another solution remaining to stop the madness, but it should be a last resort.
You have Scrapple in Wisconsin! My Dad in Haddonfield, NJ and Uncle in Bucks County PA ship it out to Michigan. Scrapple and eggs over easy: best breakfast ever.
One of my biggest regrets was in freshman year college reading the ingredients on a package of Habbersetts, and then looking up the terms in the dictionary. It took me more than a month to be able to eat it again.

CHRISTOPHER STEELE BREAKS SILENCE TO CRITICIZE TRUMP
'The retired British spy who authored a salacious dossier accusing the Trump campaign of colluding with Russia is taking a veiled shot at the president following 18 months of silence.
Christopher Steele has not spoken publicly since March 2017, a couple of months after the publication of his infamous dossier. But the former MI6 officer issued his first comments in response to being named to Vanity Fair’s 2018 New Establishment List.
“In these strange and troubling times, it is hard to speak unpalatable truths to power, but I believe we all still have a duty to do so. I salute those on your list, and otherwise, who have had the courage to speak out over the last year, often at great personal cost,” Steele wrote in an email to Vanity Fair editor-in-chief Radhika Jones, ABC News reported.
“At a time when governance is so distorted and one-sided, as I believe it currently is in the United States, the media has a key role to play in holding it accountable,” Steele continued.
Special counsel Robert Mueller is the top pick on the list. Steele is No. 38.

Few other details were forthcoming about the interview, but Mueller's interest in Christopher Steele puts a new focus on the 35-page dossier he compiled, which includes salacious sexual allegations that then-president-elect Donald Trump denied. CNN first reported Thursday that the interview with Mueller's team and Steele took place...."
Chris Steele is a lying weasel. You can tell because he speaks in generalities. Why does this foreigner give such a hoot about American politics? Why doesn't he stand behind his bullshit dossier?

The woman who played her was really witchy and clever. I thought the horse fucking scene was done tastefully.
Blogger tim in vermont said... Not to worry Democrats, Tom Arnold is going to find those tapes and nail Trump once and for all! -- If he doesn't get pummeled by Dean Cain.
"To call “Hunt” a nothingburger is inadequate. So far, it’s more of a nothingbuffet. (I’ve seen two episodes of eight, but Mr. Arnold has said that if he had found a damning tape, he would not have withheld it until air.)"
Having blogged his tweets earlier you may be interested in Jordan Peterson's longer response to the reactions to them regarding his idea that Kavanaugh step down after confirmation.
"Say this for “The Hunt for the Trump Tapes,” Tom Arnold’s new half-hour series in which the actor undertakes a largely farcical hunt for incriminating material about the president — it’s a show of its moment. The series sits at the intersection of two trends: The outlandishness of the ongoing political scene allowing just about anything to seem believable, and the tendency of this era to resurrect just about any pop-cultural figure who’d seemed better left in a previous era.
But being well-positioned to document and to succeed in an era of crass, noisy perniciousness — an era in which vastly more heat than light is generated by whatever’s left of a national discourse — is hardly a compliment, unless it’s bolstered by the sort of vision and artfulness this show lacks. Arnold’s show is an unpleasant wade through widely-known and speculated-about Trump ephemera, adding little in its first two episodes but the re-emergence of a personality whose frantic need to be in front of the camera makes for painful viewing." https://variety.com/2018/tv/reviews/tom-arnold-trump-tapes-review-1202930570/
Housemate's currently in middle Nouveau Jersey. I asked him to try to find some good scrapple prepped for transportation. I miss the gorgeous offal side perfume (liver? kidney?) alongside a side of scrambled eggs.
@Ingie, Investors Business Daily, Democrats +2. At Democrats +2 it’s a red wave, because of the Democrats’ propensity to clump together into blue bubbles.
Scrapple? You people are GROSS! That stuff is just Offal!
And then ignorant ignoramuses are mentioning it in the same sentence as tasty Spiced Pork and Ham :( The folk in Austin spend a lot of time getting those pigs into those little cans so that we can enjoy
I believe in the end America, us as people who believe in what we are as a Republic, in our basic decency, and our great prudence and tolerance, we prevail against evil. I think we surprise everyone, including our selves. We are made of better stuff than our enemies, and just because they have remained unaccountable and essentially untouchable does not make us weak or cowards, we are just people who want to live and let live at heart. Who isn’t like this reading these words? That same dynamic doesn’t automatically confer on us an inability to fight, fight well, and win. Quite the contrary or I wasn’t born a natural Patriotic American. And I cab say this because I’m not the kind of guy who will let others die for my natural rights, my family, my tribe, my community and not my Republic, which still exists at the least in hearts, minds, preserved in history and documents. It does not no longer exist because of revisionists and cultural marxist say it doesn’t. Fuck. You.
I look around me and see many things, the 1st is within the sphere of my entire life I know not one single cultural marxist. Not one person who poo poo’s MAGA, or what Mr Trump has accomplished and promises. There is no one I have even heard of who intends the destruction of America as we know it. My wife who has a Faceborg page, she has one loony toons cousin who believes Obama should still be president. So in the entire range and scale of both our lives, there is one avowed dirty stinking commie. I work in the coal mines, it has the most amazing grapevine imaginable. You find out everything. There’s a few thousand coal miners across WV, we have CB radio’s in all surface equipment, Truckers in and out of the coal load outs 24/7, we have company 2 meter radio’s with a fantastic repeater system, in every Boss’s and Superintendents trucks, and usually in every raw and clean coal pile dozers and loaders so there’s always somebody with both radio’s to communicate with everyone, we even have underground radio systems now. The comm’s are like no other along with the HillBilly grapevine. Tramming out on the man trip or riding up the elevator, you get to hear and talk about everything, from home or the latest news, and in 10 years as a coal miner I have never heard of a single guy who was nothing but patriotic and God fearing, and that goes for all the people we all know and discuss outside the mining industry. Zilch. Big Fat Zero. There’s no cultural marxist, at least they ain’t letting on if there are in my AO and in the course of my daily affairs outside my AO. Now granted WV has a population a little over a million, county I live in, larger than the state of Rhode Island, has 2,400 households. Where are all the fucking commies? Do they live in some isolated enclave? Concentrated in Urban hives? How much a figment of an illusion of power are they? Could they even be noticeable if they didn’t have a strangle hold on the fake media and pass their diktat thru every dishonest corrupt means while not having passed legislation honestly in 7 decades, or more, that gives them an appearance of this majority of the people?
I don’t buy into this civil war yet. No Sir. Not till it gets going if it does. I’m saying when the rubber meets the road and antifa our whatever paid goons try starting shit out in dirt people land where I live they are going to disappear never to be seen or heard from again. Only the tree’s will know where they are buried.
Will it get terrible, http://americandigest.org/wp/civil-war-if-it-starts-it-will-be-uglier-than-anyone-can-imagine/#comment-14956
Althouse can get you into trouble. The wife ask me what Books I was listening to tonight. So I told her Japanese Fiction . That got me a I do not believe you reaction. And I explained that a girl friend recommended them. That made it worse, until I Told her it was Althouse. That calmed her down since she loves David Sedaris that Althouse turned us on to.
But I still cannot explain Convenience Store Girl and Killing Commendatore . She will just have to listen to them herself. The Japanese tell wild tales with a respectful and reasoning voice.
How can you eat yucky Spam? I doubt that it's healthy to eat. I encourage all Deplorables to stock up on cans of Spam. When the Trump economy collapses, you'll have plenty to eat.
"When they had 3 million more votes, aided by California opening polling stations in Mexico, democrats didn't come close to a majority in the house. If voter turnout is even there will be a larger house majority and 60 republican senators"
One facet that everyone seems to be ignoring here is that pretty much every majority minority district in the country (which includes many of the Congressional Black Caucus) means an extra Republican district. Or, maybe more accurately, that each state with a majority minority district has at least one extra Republican district, over what they would otherwise have, based on raw party affiliation numbers. That is because they have to overpack minority Dems into districts in order to guarantee that a minority Dem wins the district. The complaint, by white Dems, for years, has been that minority Dems get with Republicans to create these districts, and that is the quid pro quo.
"Black voter turnout is going to be lower for democrats in 2018 and 2016 by a wide margin."
It isn't helping the Dems right now that Trump's popularity among Blacks is up by double digits over the last year, from maybe just under 1/4 to roughly 1/3. Crack can probably explain this better than I can, but part of it seems to be the employment situation (best for Blacks in decades, if not forever), and his personality is better appreciated in Black communities than in upper middle class White ones.
It isn't helping the Dems right now that Trump's popularity among Blacks is up by double digits over the last year, from maybe just under 1/4 to roughly 1/3.
This was one of Hilary's big demographic problems. How many black men voted out for her? Did Barack vote for her?
"...loss aversion..." thats the term I was thinking of when the dems keep shouting about the 'blue wave'. It's an attempt to keep republican voters away from voting.
you know, that Trumpit doesn't like it makes it MORE DELICIOUS Crispy Fried Spam, and Eggs and Hashbrowns.... mmmmmmmm and you KNOW what would be great to wash it down? That's right, Delicious Whole Milk !!!
So Michael was the first Cat 4 storm to hit the Panhandle since official records began in 1851 and the third strongest ever. And yet, only two deaths reported at this moment. I'm not downplaying that fact, I have a lot of family and friends in Panama City and we were fortunate not to lose anyone.
I'm making the point that preparation and infrastructure are key to surviving these hurricanes.
Phony Phil Bredesen's campaign is now likely scrapple. Project Veritas - who is a fairer world would win journalism awards every year - has outed his strategy:
Says YES on Kavanaugh in Vote-Grab, But Staffers Say He Wouldn’t “It’s politics.”
Lie Was “a Political Move” to Appear “Moderate” Rather Than Liberal – Bredesen Campaign Is “all here” to Run Against Trump, “he hates Trump”
Staffer Confides: “we’re trying to make it so it’s not about Democrats…” BUT “he’ll be a good Democrat”
Blue Wave: “This isn’t about everything else… this is for the Blue Wave…” “we don’t say that out of these walls”
Bredesen Staff Thinks Tennessee Voters Are “Ignorant”
For hurricane prep and response, yes. I'm not familiar enough with all of his policies to pass judgment on them. I know that my liberal sister and brother-in-law (who works in the Capitol mailroom) are less than enamored of him, but then, she was a big Hillary supporter.

Good stuff, scrapple. Haven't had it in a while. This will serve as a reminder to pick some up.
Scrapple is delicious. But the way some people in the South like to eat it - with grape jelly - not so much IMHO. Different strokes.
The trouble with 150mph winds isn't that bits blow off the house but that loose objects become 150mph projectiles that hit the house.

If Queen Victoria were cute and cuddly, the history of the world would be far different.......Claire Foy was excellent as Elizabeth II, but the best royal drama was the Russian one on Catherine the Great. The woman who played her was really witchy and clever. I thought the horse fucking scene was done tastefully.
@Quaestor, just wait. She has plenty of time left before the election.

I miss the Habbersetts scrapple I had as a kid in the Philly 'burbs, but down here in Georgia you can find the Jones brand (from Wisconsin!).
The livermush I tried in the Carolinas tasted pretty dang close to scrapple, but then again it's been while.

In business, we call that "negative benchmarking" and it usually leads to bankruptcy. Wonder where it leads to in politics.
Wasn't Steele interviewed by Jane Mayer like a year ago. Did he not learn anything from his year in the London courts?

Arnold’s show is an unpleasant wade through widely-known and speculated-about Trump ephemera, adding little in its first two episodes but the re-emergence of a personality whose frantic need to be in front of the camera makes for painful viewing."

Will it get terrible,

Althouse can get you into trouble. The wife ask me what Books I was listening to tonight. So I told her Japanese Fiction . That got me a I do not believe you reaction. And I explained that a girl friend recommended them. That made it worse, until I
Told her it was Althouse. That calmed her down since she loves David Sedaris that Althouse turned us on to.
But I still cannot explain Convenience Store Girl and Killing Commendatore . She will just have to listen to them herself. The Japanese tell wild tales with a respectful and reasoning voice.
Sedaris is known for quelling sexual tension.
I'd never heard of that, so I thought, "Something formed out of apple?" But no.

Generic ballot 45% dem 45% republican
When they had 3 million more votes, aided by California opening polling stations in Mexico, democrats didn't come close to a majority in the house.
If voter turnout is even there will be a larger house majority and 60 republican senators.
Black voter turnout is going to be lower for democrats in 2018 and 2016 by a wide margin.
But leftists need to keep hope alive. Nobody thinks democrats have a 12% poll advantage or even 6% except really stupid people.
How can you eat yucky Spam? I doubt that it's healthy to eat. I encourage all Deplorables to stock up on cans of Spam. When the Trump economy collapses, you'll have plenty to eat.

This was one of Hilary's big demographic problems. How many black men voted out for her? Did Barack vote for her?

So Michael was the first Cat 4 storm to hit the Panhandle since official records began in 1851 and the third strongest ever. And yet, only two deaths reported at this moment. I'm not downplaying that fact, I have a lot of family and friends in Panama City and we were fortunate not to lose anyone.

For hurricane prep and response, yes. I'm not familiar enough with all of his policies to pass judgment on them. I know that my liberal sister and brother-in-law (who works in the Capitol mailroom) are less than enamored of him, but then, she was a big Hillary supporter.
