Scott Adams met with President Trump in the Oval Office and it was oh so comfortable, just the greatest day of his life and the only thing close...

... was that time a decade ago when he took mushrooms, and in fact, it was very like being on mushrooms, where everything was so completely familiar and yet so different... there is simply no one in the universe as charismatic and comfortable as our great President of Presidents, Donald Trump:

Afterwards, after that only very brief but scintillating meeting, he didn't want it to end, so he just — it was pouring rain — he just walked and walked in the rain... so he could absorb it... not the rain... but the mushroomishly wonderful time with the man who made him feel as if he were the only person in the world.

Fortunately, there's video of Scott leaving the White House:

A waste of electrons.

Sheesh Darrell, so harsh.

You could simply state that you prefer Althouse's rain video.

Adams has a thrill going up his leg. Ew.

buwaya said...

He's a fan. He met an even more expert persuader.
Thats a problem, if one is to write about persuasion.

Sprezzatura said...

But, maybe Darrell's a fan of the Alt subtext:

Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo

Lots of doo-doo.

buwaya said...

That said, I think everyone should try attend one of Trumps rallies.
They are something. Moreso, to chat with the other attendees. Lots of time for that, in line. Its a social occasion.
Interesting lot.

And it really is history playing out.

Sprezzatura said...

"I think everyone should try to attend one of Trumps rallies."

Ha ha.

It's cool that cons are now into reading importance into a pol being able to amass big crowds of fans at rallies.

Hilarious.

Sprezzatura said...

It wasn't too long ago that it was groups of screaming teabag-hat folks that were important to hear, not the big-rally guy.

Now, the rally guy is the one to follow, now we should mock those folks w/ grabbable hats.

BamaBadgOR said...

Maybe this shows why Trump prefers 1:1 or small meetings.

Adams needs a good editor for his mouth.
I didn't know engineers were even capable of wandering like that.

I would like to attend a Trump rally, but the ones in Ca seem to attract the resistance.

What happened at the Trump rallies at the OC fair grounds and San Jose shocked me.

tcrosse said...

Clever camera angles covered up the fact that Hillary couldn't draw flies. Of course, now she can.

buwaya said...

No point in this really, responding to PB&J, but -
You go to the rally, more than anything, to meet the people.
The lot of them gathered thus are the phenomenon. History doesnt usually give us the opportunity to speak to the crowd, each individual. But there you do.

Thats also what you should be doing when you travel, if you like doing that. Earth is earth, mountains are mountains, ocean is ocean, and marble is marble, if you have seen enough. But people are something else, they give the flavor to every acre or moment.

Sprezzatura said...

Buw,

And, did you also attend the bigger BHO rallies?

Assuming that you did not, see the problem?

Darrell,

You bring up a good point. What is a good frankfurter?

Do you have a favorite? In the past, I've read pro reviews that say Hebrew National are the best, if yur looking for widely available options.

Always open to input = me.

rhhardin said...

Classmate Janet Smith was actually a better singer in the same style, in my opinion, but try googling her. Her public anonymity is assured.

buwaya said...

I've met a fair number of pols in my time.
Nice people (Cory Aquino was the saintliest, daintiest momma type you could hope for), or scary people. Most come across as salesmen - the sort of character who wanders over at the auto dealers. The better ones don't, but could probably sell the proverbial icebox to an Eskimo anyway.

But few of them can, on their own, draw a crowd, anywhere in the world. Crowds are usually arranged, bused in, drawn by free entettainment, etc., or motivated by other causes, and the politico just happens to be nearby. But Trump can, by himself, fill stadiums, if he could get them. He is the draw. Thats very unusual.

Amadeus 48 said...

But how were the creases in Trump's trousers? Perfect? Elegant? Leg-thrilling? Did Trump talk about Reinhold Niebuhr? Forgiveness is the final form of love.

Until Scott Adams tops David Brooks and Chris Matthews, he's just a wannabe.

Sprezzatura said...

Buw,

BHO did bigger numbers than DJT.

Back then, cons had the take that this was proof that DJT was leading braindead cultists, or such.

Now, you tell me that DJT's smaller numbers are amazing, historical, blah, blah, blah...

My usual POV is to see the humor in this stuff. Even so, I'm not a sociopath, i.e., it's hard to not get the sads for y'all. Please do better.

buwaya said...

Americans are very willing to "do the work" as far as seeing DJT in person.
Way more show up than can be let in. The venues are medium sized.
This is in part deliberate I think, for several reasons.

But security worries aside he could do a stadium tour, easy, with entertainment to make a night of it.

Are you gonna get all Spicy re who gets bigger numbers re DJT v BHO?

SAD!

traditionalguy said...

Scott said they were already on the same wave length and no pacing was needed.

The interesting part for me was my wife was impressed when Scott says Trump is an exact opposite to the Narcisscist slander against him that was so prevalent in his first year of his campaigning. That was mere jealousy and 100% wrong.

The best comparison for Donald's level of social skills was Bill Clinton. Just think what 20 hours a day by Trump can do with that skill set. Sweet Old Bill had to spend 10 hours a day chasing pussy.

Darrell said...

Proving that PB&J can't keep an idea in his head for an entire sentence. Obama's bigger numbers would lead one to suspect a brain-dead cult following. Or paid SEIU holidays and bus trips to attend.

Darrell said...

That should be "can't keep an idea in his fucking head."

More a hobby than a business, but for a few years, till he got ill, he supplied a lot of restaurants.
I know how sausage is made, the real thing and the political analog.

LOL! Adams is proud of his magic mushroom experience. It seemed, when high on the stuff, to give Adams the gift of knowledge only few ever will obtain. I'm glad he can now sustain the heightened level with his regular marijuana doses.

sounds like Althouse is jealous maybe? Also pretty condescending to two guys who've run rings around her career-wise.

As for Gene Kelly, watch closely and you'll see how very athletic and coordinated he was. Things had to be pretty slippery as wet as the set was and he never had a hint of a falter. Very talented guy--they don't make em like that anymore.

Sprezzatura said...

"If thou hast not conquer'd thy self in that which is thy own particular Weakness, thou hast no Title to Virtue, tho' thou art free of other Men's. For a Covetous Man to inveigh against Prodigality, an Atheist against Idolatry, a Tyrant against Rebellion, or a Lyer against Forgery, and a Drunkard against Intemperance, is for the Pot to call the Kettle black."

It only goes to show that one narcissist cannot see narcissism in others. That seems to be true of Rush and Sean as well as Scott.

Even the Trump tweet that Scott found amusing where our New York liberal insulted Lebron James and Don Lemon was amazing since he called them dumb - that from most likely the dumbest and socially immature president ever.

Earnest Prole said...

traditionalguy said...

FTR: Narcissim is not arrogant bragging and boasting. It is a deadly demand by a powerful person that all people around him play the role the narcisist demands they play for his self image, or be eliminated. It is the ultimate anti-social behavior.

rcocean said...

I can see why Scott is happy.

In 2016, he had the strange idea he could talk about the Trump Candidacy is an objective way - because he was basically a leftist.

He found out wrong. All his college campus gigs went away. His outside income dropped to zero. He'd been ostracized.

Fortunately for him, Trump won. And he's found a new source of outside income.

It's fun to read the comments, then step back, chew through the comments, and put them in context with the Presidents accomplishments in his first 18+ months in office. An economy that NO economist predicted, or predicted was possible, absent an unforeseen event of some sort. President Trump, by his sheer intellect and ability, is rebuilding the United States role as leader of the fee world.
Contrasted by the media and Dems,(I repeat myself) 100's of imagined disasters, All of which have turned out to be nothing.

So throughout the campaign, Adams kept telling all of us that he didn’t align with either candidate as a matter of policy? Did he talk about any of his policy differences with Trump? I don’t want to have to listen to more of Adams to find out.

Moreover, was Adams’ visit arranged in connection with a contribution to Trump or the Republican Party?

I began reading Adams during the republican primary back when I was in disbelief that Trump was for real and that I thought he would flame out quickly and damn if Adam's wasn't correct with his predictions. Then I remember July 2016 as the access hollywood tapes came out that I thought Trump was like a Todd Akin's on steroids and that he was finished and he was going to go down in flames and Adams dissected what was going on and how it wouldn't get any traction because everyone knew trump was a dog. Then weeks later he boldly predicted Trump winning and why. And now here we are. It would seem Scott has a better track record than 97% of the MSM and their democratic toadies.
